  1.    This is typical Mcd / Beane management of this roster. You have a kicker coming off a shaky season , has an injury for a prolonged period of time ( when you easily could have looked late in the draft or worked out several prior to the last 2 weeks before the season ) , yet you GO WITH A OLD VET LIKE YOU ALWAYS CHOOSE to do, even tho your vet strategy has led to 0 SB appearances.  Now this guy is expected to do all you want with ball placement on kickoffs etc, plus be expected to handle stadium winds etc, when you have expectations of getting home field advantage for a SB run. Guy was obviously NOT  on a roster for some reason, or was he just waiting for the right club , right deal ( sarcasm please) ?

When you had to limit his fg length attempt in a preseason  game , isn’t that enough to know it’s time to have a FIRM plan b?    Guess not with this staff.   Bass wasn’t progressing fully, missed a short fg  attempt , yet let’s wait even more?  Medically it’s idiotic. Probably needs surgical treatment , it’s ok to wait some time , but delaying like this without deciding just doesn’t make  sense. If it’s not amenable to surgery , then not having explored other options is just inexcusable as this might never resolve without full rest for a prolonged time.

Everyone knows some games will come down to a fg , and this has effects managing the game as I’m betting this guy isn’t a sure thing over 50, like many young kickers have become. I just think with the odd preseason already ( many injuries , suspensions, adding players w known injury issues, bringing in several old players to help “ watch film , and help in the rooms” , ) , this just doesn’t have the feel of a true SB bound organization, it feels chaotic outside of the given stability and talent of Allen. I’m just comparing these moves to organizations like the chiefs or eagles, and it just feels like it’s hoping things will come together rather than good decision making. Small things separate success from being a franchise with 0 SB WINS in their history. This just feels BILLSY again to me having followed them since ‘63. Hey, always waiting to be wrong , but I am honestly having more doubts about Mcd / Beane. Great talkers , great under performers.  ( I don’t see the bills getting 3 from 59 as the clock runs out , do you?Chiefs just showing how they are detail oriented)

What the hell is that crap???

Enough already. I’ll just hope this was a joke, because it’s not a Buffalo Bills uniform.

Kinda looks like they got left over unis from DETROIT at some point,  slapped a Buffalo over the lion on the helmet, and looks like a silver Christmas tree ornament. It might look great in person,  I just think some trace of red/ blue somewhere are needed or it  really does look Detroit ready.   Definitely crisp, clean, but it needs some touch of blue/ red.  Wouldn’t mind having a jersey regardless. 😊

This season was already shaping up as a "Voyage of the Damned" for the Dolphins and now this...

Yet the jags have a kid who went 6/6 over 50 yards with a long of 70 this preseason!   He just hit another 59 yarder splitting the uprights at least halfway up into the net.  Why we are hanging onto a guy who had confidence issues and missed time with an inflamed symphysis pubis or “ pelvic injury”  is beyond me when there are kickers out there to find in this era where kids grew up playing soccer.
So I don’t worry about the fins finding one. Heck they make get the guy the bills just released who looked less shaky than Bass.  Man , would love to have the jags kicker , Little I believe is his name , as this guy hit 70 yards at sea level in very humid air; he is going to win them a game or two whereas we pray Bass won’t lose another for us.  It’s these little things. , no pun intended, that keep Mcd/ Beane at 0 sb appearances despite having the best unicorn qb in modern football history.

Honestly surprising. I kind of assumed the rumors of him being done with Football were true and that's why he was still at home.

I guess the prospect of skipping out on Training Camp and returning to a familiar place was enough to lure him back for another go.

I think his true desire to play football , true speed , may be done with.  BUT many guys prove their desire for money really never slows down, and it’s a time where a vet can play a few snaps a game, or suddenly complain of calf pain or some other subjective injury and grab another couple mil.   Don’t know the guy , but I think he could have been more available last year (. Wrist pain also is a subjective, unmeasurable thing.  Fractures, ligament tears , kidney stones , even concussions are more easily proven and measured with historical proof of recovery timetables).   Just saying I agree, would not expect much; might do a few plays to hang on , but I bet it’s Buffalo 2 as the big picture.

If he got an MRI and they haven't figured out a prognosis yet, my GUESS is a partial ACL tear (grade 1 or 2 sprain). It can be very difficult to judge the severity of them from an MRI, and sometimes you have to wait for the swelling to go down to do more mechanical-type testing. MCL and LCL injuries are typically more definitive right away. I guess it could also be a PCL, but those are rare. Whatever, I just hope it's not bad.

I don’t know of anyone in my 40 years of medicine that referred  to the knee as “ lower leg”.  It’s the joint between upper and lower leg. it is referred to as the knee.  Not saying they couldn’t get an mri to check a knee but it’s not lower leg unless perhaps they are being deceptive. However, you can need an MRI to evaluate for occult fx, interosseous membrane injury  of lower leg( high ankle injury) , formal ankle mortise for Talar injury , but more likely e v a l of formal ankle ligaments both medially and laterally.   If he has an acl or pcl injury, that’s the knee ,not lower leg. It’s obvious it’s complicated his return. And they are not divulging his actual diagnosis to not appear desperate when trying to add by trade or FA markets,or cuts to their cb depth so Beane still has leverage imo.  I think it’s a variant of high ankle given the lack of timetable , possible ir. Just guessing tho. Why else be so quiet about it, well high ankle really vary in recovery time. Best wishes. Will eventually find out why they refused to give any info.

They must be out on Moore,  I'd take him asap, great blocker and he'll be WR 4 or 5 , a role he excelled in

Yet Davis was not available much in his time in Jax and he still dropped catches he should have made.  This , imo , would be a failure on multiple levels  Should he have be resigned in the first place if you’re willing to bring him back , tho prob a cheaper price?  Given all the issues with receivers , and bad contracts Beane has done with WRs , should he perhaps apologize to the radio personalities and fans he got snippy with who were critical of him not drafting any wr other than a 7 th rounder who is already not making the team?  This is another example of Beane failing to provide Allen w adequate support, and being arrogant about his wr corp while they frankly have underperformed.

We were the only team shut out last week and it’s obvious our wr corp keeps faling to make plays.  Just compare Allen’s support wr corp to what Burrows has in Cincinnati; it’s startling!  We are so desperate now to consider bringing in Davis , known for critical drops and unavailability? That’s a joke Beane is totally responsible for. Compare our preseason to watching teams like the bengals and Washington, or even Chicago.  It’s the quality of individual performances by Bills players that’s is just frankly poor quality to the eye test , below the quality of other teams backups. Again , our o was THE ONLY TEAM SHUT OUT THIS WEEK. Even tho the score or w/ l means nothing , there is a bigger picture of or wr corp dropping balls , unavailability with multiple guys , and lack of playmaking. Backups on every other team at least allowed their offenses to score. I know our starters should be adequate , but there is no promise year to year. Every year we have stretches of WRs unavailable to injury , so backups matter.

I can’t believe they want to look at Davis but not utilize a guy with potential like shavers who has been consistent this year. If they sign davis rather than roster shavers , this would be the first time I would begin to lose faith in McD and Beane ,,repeating the same things that they failed to reach the sb in the past.   Beans signings like Samuel’s , Moore just look lackluster  ; hollins proved to be a good addition but they let him end up in New England.   Scores in preseason may mean nothing , but you can judge the talent of backups compared to other teams backups. We have looked fundamentally bad and imo , we have played some of the worst football of all teams in the two games so far.
It’s fair to have opinions on the quality of the backup players , given this teams injury history come playoff time, given this is supposedly a SB competing roster. Revising Davis is a failure of beanes process , including not addressing that position earlier in the draft.  We were the ONLY TEAM shutout , so it’s fair to say there is honest room for concern and so far we have no proof the o will continue to be productive. They better be as this d has shown no solutions to last years 3 rd down or long yardage d failures.  Thats not overreacting, it reacting to the talent level observed in actual competition.

THE STARTERS are great. Yet they are never available 100% of the time , excluding Allen. The entire roster matters. The ravens will be a big challenge as will a 17 game schedule. We need to get the one seed.  I’m not sure I feel confident this roster as it is now looking will have enough talent. Mcd 7 playoff wins , Allen 6 playoff wins , both with no SB  appearances. The process may not be ultimately working.

Babich probably pretty pleased about that.

Jags reddit for some light reading https://www.reddit.com/r/Jaguars/s/ikoPjjM4Ip

Wow , that is some terrible , and yet familiar, reading on there.  It just makes you wonder why Mcd brings in a guy his own team shredded.  Thus coaching staff and Beane will be responsible if they fail to get a Lombardi w Josh.  All the wasted picks , FA moves on this d which has been atrocious and this teams Achilles heel , just makes me feel ill.  Look at all the HOF talent polian and the 90’s teams had that propelled them to 4 superbowls ( where frankly the players just failed to play up to their talent level) , and now with possibly the most gifted qb in nfl history they barely get any pro bowl nominations, yet alone any HOF talent outside of Josh.  It’s Dan marinos story happening again , just like Shula failing to put talent around him.

Mcd is a great coach for this team. I can’t envision anyone else leading them. But I can’t forgive the blown games , 13 seconds , hail murray, etc and a defense we all expect to fail on third downs and also rarely get pressure with just our front four. It’s maddening , and then he goes and brings in a guy, like this from a terrible Jax franchise , and he’s had to replace two o coordinators and one d coordinator ( 2 if you count replacing himself with Babich) previously. Listen to players who’ve won titles and they all give credit to the coaches for getting them over the final hump to bring home the Lombardi.

Beanes biggest failures have been all the failed assets devoted to the d line ,and his persistence in failing to draft or bring in adequate receiving talent around Josh. The other thing winning sb players say is your best players also have to play their best to win. We see our roster filled with guys who drop balls or come up short at playoff moments. It just seems talent selection outside Josh , now possibly cook as well , never compares to the roster depth and talent we see on teams like the chiefs and eagles.
Watching our talent in the giants game , it’s hard to feel confident this d still won’t have holes at safety and picks like Jackson ( rooting for the guy with being dealt a terrible form of alopecia yet managed to be a great guy and land a beautiful wife!) just seem to be like more of the same things like AJ OR BOOGIE BASHAM , at a time we are primed to make another run.   So why do we repeat these types of mediocre moves and bring in a guy from Jax who performed terribly even against us ,while our own d coordinator had a mediocre year already?  Didn’t we see this on our oc before with Dorsey?  It just makes me SMH; as Mcd preaches a playoff standard yet he so far seems incapable of championship caliber decision making.   Watched the ravens preseason game , and honestly , I’m expecting them to out physical  this d and run all over this front early , esp with ped guys out , and once again Mcd will fail to grab that important one seed. Just more questionable decisions that won’t fix the sack issues or 3 rd down woes. Doesn’t seem like we brought in championship , or even playoff caliber coaching additions.  Maybe Mcd doesn’t believe in the philosophy of surrounding yourself with people even better than you are if you want to continue advancing. Thanks for the link, some pretty amazing statements there !

    Outside too

And at sea level in high humidity!  It’s been close to 100 degrees every day here for the past week with AccuWeather stating it feels like 112 !  Been living here since 1985 and can’t recall a string of hot weather persisting this long.  It doesn’t even cool much at night ; just been miserably hot outside and it feels suffocating with the high humidity. That was an amazing  kick; imagine if he hit that in Denver !  Was cool to watch it happen , even if on tv!

Hunter made his two way debut.  He had 2 receptions for 2 yards , and missed a tackle on a Rb as he came up and slipped , and the Rb ran for a first down.   Lawrence was the qb as well, who I think will need to move to a different franchise to be successful.  Time will tell, but giving up all that draft capital for anything other than a franchise qb seems foolish.  Typical jags stuff under owner Kahn.

  9.       Just a FYI while topic is kicking.  Did you guys see that the jags fg kicker hit a fg from 70 yards last night right as the first half was ending !?  Yep, 70 yards with a little to spare.  The team and broadcasters were all pretty excited and the young kicker was mobbed.  It was pretty cool to see , but obviously won’t count as the record since it was preseason.  But it was hot , heavy humidity ( past week it has been close to 100 degrees daily with it feeling like it’s 112 according to AccuWeather.  I’ve lived here since 1985 and have never experienced this type of prolonged heatwave ).  So the kick was at sea level , not much wind, heavy humidity, and was just a perfect kick.  Very cool to at least see it happen.  Wil be interesting to see how his season goes

In another quick topic, Hunter made his debut as a two way player.  He had 2 receptions for two yards on a couple of quick slants; on d he came up quickly on a run play , slipped going for the tackle and missed  as the rb ran for a first down.  That was his total contribution for the night.   This franchise has just been abysmal under Kahn and giving up all the picks they did for Hunter just seems like another crazy move to me that this owner has become known for. Time will tell, Hunter may have some success , but this isn’t Colorado , it’s the NFL , and IMO , only a franchise qb is worth that much draft capital. Lawerence still looks like a miss here as he’s mostly focused on flipping his hair rather than being consistently accurate.  The new gm looks like a teenager and I bet Lawrence will eventually succeed in a new location.

Sure would be nice to have a kicker hitting from 70 rather than seeing if your RB can hit an xp!   😂

The thing is both of the other two guys on that show with Joe today, Jeremy and Jerry both thought Hoecht looked really great today as well. So that’s 3 of them.

I won’t comment on it since I saw some of the game but not all of it and didn’t catch a lot of what he did.

Seems to be a big difference of opinion though.

I like Jerry o quite a bit  and think his experience as a lineman is very valuable as a role as an analyst.  I’m indifferent on the other two as they just seem to meld into the plethora of podcasters available online today. Every team has loyal fans who now think their love of football and their teams qualifies them as experts who need to share their “ expertise “ on podcasts or radio now. .  Add in the AI casts, all the want to be sportscasters who want to be the next Bermans, and it’s an insane amount of content on even the smallest minutiae every day.

I Would add that as these Podcasts proliferate they have to try to separate themselves from all the noise out there. They have to remain in good standing with the players and the team if they want to have any form of access. When your “paycheck” depends on access and staying in good standing with the main or only organization you are covering , it is obvious that relationship will bias the coverage , and most things have a positive slant while negatives are de-emphasized or ignored.

Ostroski and another former Bills lineman, John FINA ( bills LT for 10 years whose rookie year was the year of SB27) have slowly been drifting to being less  critical , and are very guarded about saying any negative things in their analysis. They are critical but it’s very edited now compared to when they started podcasts and they have now been more “ around” the team and organization (fina stayed away from Buffalo until recently and just recently went back for tailgating events etc, and his relationship w the front office has been repaired) They are still enjoyable listening. It doesn’t surprise me the three you mentioned above had more positive outlooks in opinions, yet just because the 3 of them agreed , I’m not sure that means they are more correct than the poster who expressed his concerns.  All three guys have financial gains related to their reporting about the Bills.

All im saying is it’s fair to look at any monetary relationships podcasters snd reporters have to the subjects they are covering. Most won’t jeopardize that possible income and in this case bias is a real possibility.  It just goes to show these are all subjective opinion pieces and not hard facts so it’s possible to have very different views that have some partial truths.   Plus, it’s preseason and interpretations are meaningless without the proper context of knowing what players were told to do. ✌️

I love the way BB came into the conversation. Seems like the "WR train" talk on 'gr is a constant topic. Bad radio imo. WR is not the reason the Bills have not advanced in the playoffs. The "d" has come up small year after year. I was hoping that the Bills focused heavily on strengthening that side of the ball in this draft.

    Eagles showed the way.

Just drafting d , made necessary by all the prior wasted resources on the line ( miller , boogie, guy who left to return to sf, or Seattle guy who couldn’t touch the field here but went on to start elsewhere for examples) have prohibited getting better wr support for Josh. You let go a wr in hollins who was a huge locker room guy and your most productive wr in afc loss, and you let go coop who was seen as necessary when wr corp, was failing, and when Beane stated coop on field equaled 7 more points a game are proof the wr corp has room for improvement.

also Beane is just being defensive as Josh got the mvp w lower stats because every voting expert agreed he did more with less around him and without him, the Bills never become relevant.   So we lost two relevant WRs , bring in a third wr chargers let go , and you fail to address the position until the likely irreverent 7 th round and wonder how your roster management could be just questioned ?  Oh , let’s not forget , yes you drafted the best  qb athlete perhaps ever , but what were you brought here to do?  Yep, to win a Super Bowl.  How many have you won in 8 years,,,,oh , how inconvenient for your sensitivity,,,exactly 0 with exactly 0 appearances. Had you achieved your mission statement of winning a SB just once , you would  never face criticism again in Buffalo!  Someone once said , Just do your job!

He is saying the 0 was not an issue putting up 30 a game , yet what unit was on the field failing to convert as a te dropped a flailed pass with  no wr separating in the afc championship? Mcds biggest mantra, last year means nothing now , you start over every year , is more prof you keep trying to add to your talent, nothing is given that you score 30 a game this year. Yes the d was horrible , but you don’t score thirty with out 16 tds from cook in his best year and using many short , screen passes.  The wr corp is feared by no one and they all draw single coverage.  Teams like the rams, eagles, KC, all stil drafted wr talent, and the eagles added to their d strength. Thats how most franchises work.

This is the beginning of Beane melting down. When you go on live radio attacking an irrelevant talking head , you are reaching new levels of insecurity based on the fact you have not yet come close to fulfilling your mission statement, winning a superbowl. It’s a fact one has to  play in one first before you can win one.   This wr corp is barely adequate , and you are wasting the prime of the best qb Buffalo has ever or probably ever will have.  It’s looking like Marino 2.0 and at best on the path of manning , elway who never won till later with better support personnel.   It’s arrogant of Beane to think his team building is above criticism with 0 SB appearances is the first crack in his armor we have seen. Pressure is on.

it’s also ridiculous coming on Beane signing two ped suspensions , and then using 6/9  of your assets all to recover from mistakes you have made with the d, and using the o picks for backups and reaching in the 7 th for a wr.    Your top competitors , KC and Cincy, keep adding to offensive talent.    Look, maybe the o will be ok. I don’t think you lose a character guy like hollins and it doesn’t hurt. If that’s not a valid premise, then how did a diva attitude like Diggs require being jettisoned and eating 30 mil$ , if attitude isn’t an important ingredient?  This years schedule looks very tough. I find it hard to believe , given mcds past rookie use, that adding 6 new rookies to the d along with two PED  guys missing a third of the season , adding a talented yet oft injured bosa , suddenly makes this d along vastly improved unit. IMO, adding a true 1 wr is a simpler , easier route to continued improving ; why not try averaging 33-a game while working for d improvement?

Beane confronting a talk show host is not a good look , cussing at him and acting like the o can’t improve. It’s tunnel vision type stuff and I bet  we hear from Beane his typical , wish I could take that back type statement.    I think it’s the first real sign he is feeling pressure from somewhere , why does such a confident guy give validity to a radio host?

What happens if they have a weak year ( still stand on the fact the schedule looks rough just looking at opponents ), and the points scored goes down ?  Luckily they are almost given the division , but it’s getting a 1 seed most think is needed to advance to the SB.  I DONT THINK THIS OFFSEASON is on track to get there.   Every game matters , you just can’t skip the first third as if they don’t matter in the 1 seed win total.  Beane was unprofessional on air which is the only time I think he has cracked.  Why chose the wr corp , which everyone sees as minimal support for the best qb in football, to die on ?  If he loses public support , pegs may feel a need to finally turn the page if they don’t get to the SB, and maybe there finally is a feeling of the hot seat appearing.  This is a Beane outlier, may mean nothing , but one thing is certain, Allen’s career /time is ticking and it feels like he is being under appreciated.

So last year scoring, the Lions, Bill and Ravens were top 3.

    https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/nfl-top-scoring-teams-2024

Did it feel hard to score for us last year to you guys? We basically did it without a field stretcher. How will it feel to you all if we did it again, TOP 3. Without a true viable field stretcher on the team? How do we continue moving forward with THIS team on offense with the WR/HB/TE combination we have on the team now, or do we still need a EDGE WR to stretch this field this year?

Just a question to you folks. This may of been covered in other topics... just wanted to read more direct answers to this topic.

    Thanks.

How many lombardies did we win with our current strategies?  How many SB appearances have we made with our current offensive and defensive schemes we currently run?   I thought this regime preached how it’s all about winning a superbowl.  8 years later and teams have surpassed us despite having what I believe is a true superstar qb, who is coach able , fits the community well, has been only a positive influence since day one. It’s always preached , if you have the qb position solved , have a great qb, you have most of what’s necessary to win a SB!  Teams with poor QBs don’t win sbs.   I think that’s almost an incontrovertible fact.

Score in the top three again , but we did it and didn’t even make a Super Bowl. You have to have a dominant d to win that game. It just makes it harder to not surround Josh with the best wr corp possible.  KC dies it , but they have true playmakers on d , and a future HOF guy in Kelce , so even they know it’s not about Maholmes only.    So how do we start this year?  Get two guys at a critical weal area that will miss at least a third of the season. Let a well liked good guy go to the pats and replace him with a different guy who supposedly is always ready to break out but always is buried behind other talent , and despite all potential, has never really been all that productive.  Good route runner , can supposedly separate , yet his numbers never seem very impressive. Throw another dart at a prior dominating edge guy in bosa, yet who would bet he starts and finishes more than 13 full game?     Can you honestly say our d is better and will be a force come playoff time ? Hope so , but chemistry takes time, Mcd has strange ideas concerning rookie usage and “ earning the refs” where fa’s have come in , never played , and then excelled immediately elsewhere. Just lots of red flags I still see.  Gonna have to prove to me bringing in guys missing a third or more of the season to start, relying on an aging injury prone edge, hoping a wr will finally break out , and then hoping you can repeat a top three offense and that will overcome everything else , is a big leap,of faith in belief of a coach who every year loses at least one reg season game due to poor coaching during the game , and has an abysmal playoff away record and overtime record.

These are just facts. Refusing to just ignore things. Call me allnthe names you want , judge my being a true fan , I don’t care. Facts are facts. Truth is an inconvenient thing. Been a loyal fan since ‘63. No doubt in my mind , Allen is the best qb , probably best player in bills history ( and I cam big fan of smith, Kelly, Thomas , reed, Talley, Bennett, odomes and Leonard smith , moulds) and we haven’t sniffed a sb yet. Something is still wrong with, and maybe it’s time to decide if the HC can actually coach well in win or go home situations , and maybe it’s time to se if Beane needs a better talent evaluator to really build a COMPLETE  , successful team.  Just honest thoughts comparing this team to prior great teams who did get to the superbowl!   I would take a top 3 d over top 3 o any time.

I had no intention to “show off” what I’m spending.  Worked EXTREMELY hard to get where I am in life. Not going to excuse that in any way.

Funny thing is, these are the cheapest seats in the house so far…

    Oh…it’s only $200 for BOTH PSL’s a month.  5k for both seats…1K down and owe 4k. $200 x 20 months is…and I swear, I’ve checked this twice…is $4k.

Pretty sure your math ain’t mathing.

Happy for you in all honesty. You had to work hard , and everyone deserves a hobby they are passionate about.  Congrats. I did that when jax came into the league, I wanted to support the community , team, and the main original  financial group , before Wayne weaver came in with the very deep pockets.  They were a. Group  of cardiologists who I rented space just below them in their office building as I got my first practice going there. Had to show political good will, which really wasn’t optional in the good ol boy med network in the south.   In Ohio , I had never ran into that type of thing where certain groups of docs controlled your privileges to do things in hospitals even with proven credentials to do certain procedures. . But glad I did it for a long time.

Finally tho the cons outweighed the pros.  The jags were good under weaver, Coughlin, Brunel, Fred Taylor , boselli , great wr groups , hardy was a great lb. They were just good and unfortunately , good enough to end Kelly’s run and the bills home playoff win streak in the 90’s .  I had club seats , 32 yard line , 8 th row behind the visitors bench. It was club seats so great food and drinks were always there.  But it was on side of field where there was no shade for most 1 pm starts and that also interfered with me watching the bills play live via satellite tv ( no direct tv or Sunday ticket then).  Eventually the talent grew old and my last year of owning the two club seats was 1999 , when bills lost in music city miracle and had they won , they would have been here playing the jags instead of me enduring watching the titans run all over the jags.  It was my last year owning the club seats and wades last year as well !  lol!

The seats were expensive for the time and because of my work schedule , I gave Half the game tickets away.  Also , those club seats and psl’s don’t usually include gas , parking , food , beverages.  Even having access as east club member , you still had to pay full price for food ( buffets were nicer than other parts of stadium food but priced more as well.  Drinks were also overpriced and merch was just higher end, more expensive stuff.  Let’s face it, you only need so much team merch, I mean you have to wear other clothes to work , right?  And places like fanatics were cheaper than buying stuff at the stadium where they hope impulse buying occurs). In addition , I was surprised at how Many red necks Jax really has and even in the club seats , there were lots of overly obnoxious ( a guy next to me would always be intoxicated to the point of being arrested several times for fighting ,  probably a hard working , but hard drinking guy , who was ok sober , but also was missing his two front teeth from fighting or poor hygiene) .  I’m ok either way cheering but yelling f you and you suck to the visiting team for the entire game got old.  So the talent was aging, fan base could be out of control, you literally could get heat exhaustion in the sun early in the season , and you  still had to pay for all amenities. It was becoming a bad financial deal.

I did love it in the beginning , but at heart I was a bills fan , causual jag fan , and the cost and cons began too change things. Also direct tv was invented along w Sunday ticket and watching all games from my living room just made more sense.  If I was young tho and the team was in its prime , and there was great tailgating like in Buffalo , I would go for it.  It’s once in a lifetime opportunity.  Earning money is great but what good is it if you can’t enjoy what comes along with all that hard work that allows you to enjoy life.  Never let anyone make you feel guilty over getting seats. You are creating memories that will sustain you when you get as old as I am at 67.  I remember every moment and it was fantastic. Plus I wasn’t married and and the seats were a nice draw for some great dates!    Do it now while we have ALLEN.  Eventually things will flip back when we are the old drought bills once again.  I hope not but it just seems likely. This is a historic time in BILLS HISTORY, EMBRACE IT as much as possible.

CONGRATS on working successfully to be able to enjoy this time in bills football.  The 90’s were my hey day and I loved every game. That’s the stuff money is for, right, that’s “ why you lift all those weights” , or do all that lonely studying to assure your success! I would just watch the product on the field , make sure they keep putting a good product out there , and then watch those other costs they don’t talk about like travel , food, alcohol , merch , etc.     PSL  costs are the big thing but there are lots of incidentals I didn’t take into account until after 10 years of owning club seats , two of them , while being a single guy.  I really hope you enjoy the experience and the BILLS DO FINALLY WIN ONE CUZ  THATS PRICELESS!   Go BILLS!  ( ps: sorry about all prior typo , punctuation errors.  I use an iPad and unfortunately it’s prone to errors no matter how careful I try to type.   If I post prior to going back and editing , sometimes it’s just been typed as jibberish .   The iPad puts in things it supposedly predicts and is corrected.   It just doesn’t work well.  Guess I Need to start using grok or chat gpt!  Sorry for prior errors).

Bengals will score 30 a game and also give up 30 a game.

Hope your offseason is going well! Good seeing you on here.  You can substitute BILLS for bengals. Same type of unbelievable things these franchises seem to always find themselves in.  Even listening to beane wiggle. out of this he still knew fully one guy was suspended, further narrowing margins of error.   This is just one more example of biillsey things with this regime.  If I was pegula , I would finally have reached a limit of throwing good money down the drain because of my gm and scouting staff not improving the quality of signings.  Two guys out for a third of the season right on heels of a failed first rounder like Elam , Also Edmund’s inbthe past and Tate worthy/ Coleman optics from last year.

It may be the NFL, but guess what, it’s time for accountability.  I would st Beane down and discuss a three week period of docking salary and allow Beane to pass 25% down line.  No firings, just a few weeks where Beane feels not earring either and let’s see if some urgency , not just being a nice guy is required.  It’s 8-9 years.  Lots of wasted money , maybe others Ned some skin in the game.  Patience as an owner has been perfect. Maybe a little pressure is needed    Jk, but  would be furious and looking to spread some accountability!  Man, they just always find a way to look foolish for no reason.   Have good march madness!   😊✌️

I like Beane, but wouldn’t he have had to know this was coming before signing these guys?  This is a huge failure on his part.  Now we know why Jones and AJE are still on the team, but this is a pretty big black eye for the organization.

One is bad enough but two players suspended in the one area , d line, you have repeatedly made mistakes with in both wasted draft capital and free agency failures is just unforgivable imo.   Thats a third of the season , enough time with our schedule to once again lose a game or two costing the 1 seed.   It’s just laughable how many mistakes this staff has made along the d line , an area that has definitely cost us games and playoff losses in the past. Plus these guys are new to the team , slowing chemistry and learning mcds so called complex d  which also slows integration into the rotation. I also think ped use is either a discipline or intelligence issue given the long knowledge base these vets have been exposed too and suggests they are also a risk for further injuries as something obviously wasn’t progressing for them to chance this. Seems a contradiction to the type of player dogma Beane / McD are always preaching.

Its just another self inflicted set of issues for non superstar type players that is another example of lack of attention to detail that goes along with this regimes inability to solve the d line talent issue for their entire tenure. You hear about teams with one guy getting suspended yearly , but TWO free agents in the biggest area you were trying to really improve , is just borderline incompetence to me.  Sorry ,,but if I had a business where multiple people were failing drug tests , that’s a failure in management and I would be replacing supervisory positions.   Would you be ok with multiple employees missing a third of the work year after paying them prior to any production?

Little things matter in such a competitive league and it’s things like this that make you wonder if this regime is capable of performing at a high enough level to ever build a true SB winning team. They definitely don’t give the impression that they could build a multiple winning dynasty type run like the chiefs, pats , or even at the level of the Eagles.  I don’t know if it’s good to minimize errors like this or rationalize it by saying they will be fresh late in the season.  It’s ignoring 6 games of 0 production after just complaining about low production from epenesa , miller , and the prior unproductive lineman Beane has signed. I’m just getting less impressed with him as time passes; prove me wrong and win a SB. Add the cb 2 questions , still not getting a quality possible wr 1 for your mvp qb , and i just see Allen’s time here being squandered. Just inexcusable mistakes for such a great gm , who seems more likable than productive.

Year after year, fans of this team are subjected to, the consistent rhetoric, that this year's iteration was 'good enough' save for a few calls here or there.

Too bad, so sad; they weren't!

The Eagles absolutely throttled the team that spanked the Bills in the AFCCG. No one here, can tell me, that the Bills had an honest to god chance against the Eagles. That team was primed for a run to the superbowl regardless of anything that stood before them..

It wasn't just Barkley, or Hurts, or Brown, or Sweat, or Braun or anyone else. It was all of these guys punching above their weight. Collectively that team wanted it more than anyone else. That'd what makes the difference. Every single player giving the absolute max they can, to get the job done.

    What do the Bills have?

The Bills have Allen and that's about it. He's been great, but when hes the only one thats not enough to seal the deal.  Whether it's the players around him, the coaches calling the plays, or mistakes he's made himself. There have been multiple opportunities to lead the team to greatness and they've all failed at that. Its the only thing holding this team back, it's not just Allen, or the weapons, or the defense, or the coaches, it's all of them.

But at the end of the day..

It doesn't matter who does what.

What matters is team success (i.e. winning a superbowl). And that means players being selfless and giving everything they've got. It means coaches pulling plays out of their asses to stop a crucial 4th down. IT MEANS BEING THE BEST OF THE BEST REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANCE.

How many times have we all seen the Bills get 'close enough' only to fall flat on their face?  The fact of the matter is.... that it's too many...

I, for one, am ready for the Bills to step up and win one for themselves and for the fans. It's time to stop being a team of wussies and being a team of men who get ***** done.

    Let's go Buffalo!

I feel your frustration having been a fan since 1963 ( I’m 67 now) , and went to SB 27/28  , and had my office filled with Bills memorabilia from those superbowls. I can’t remember the last time I missed watching a game using a large dish , to direct tv, and now YouTube.  Unfortunately my heath has really taken a severe downturn ,and I have to say losing to KC this year hurt as much or more than even those SB losses because I’m not sure I’ll be around to watch more , and I really wanted to see them win one as they are my fav sports franchise in all of sports.  It just felt like they were playing SB quality football with some great games this year , then they got exposed by KC again as both the offense and mcds d ( which has been his baby, his side to manage before finally turning over to Babich who just ran pretty much the same d) .   The everybody eats o with a lack of speed or deep threats , was mostly carried by cook and the run game , but it was becoming predictable in the playoffs once again.  How many tush pushes can you dive to the left side in the playoffs before a good dc like spags stops it?  The o struggled to sustain drives and it showed with TOP. This was another coaching failure across the board of the bills staff and eventually the SPECIAL TEAMS coach was this years sacrificial lamb and fired rightly so, just another wasted season to late.

This is the hallmark of Mcd and Beane for 8 years , always making speeches promising to fix it next year , not innovating like KC or Philly. I can’t agree tho about wanting it more , being selfless , giving it all , or playing harder etc.  THESE are PRO athletes , they only got to this level by extreme self motivation .  This was another prime example of a lack of competitive talent across large parts of the roster. Thank god we didn’t play Philly, they would have put 40 up by halftime on this statistically , visibly bad defense.  Same old Mcd process.  Try to outscore the opponent , but as Pat Kirwin said this Tuesday on Sirius, you won’t win just trying to outscore teams in the playoffs , you HAVE TO HAVE A GOOD DEFENSE , and time and time again, it’s teams with a standout  D who usually win.

So you will likely hear from Beane , Mcd, their interviews at the combine  , the draft , etc , is the same crap they pitch each season. We are so close , just need a few plays back or to go our way. Same thinking , same denial that this d scheme has almost always been the weakest link , same lack of urgency to provide Josh with quality receivers ( outside of 3 years of the diggs as 4 th year was horrific).    We have one consistent wr with shakir, avg tight ends, a 2 nd round wr who found out he can’t bully, separate , or out jump NFL dbs as he did at FSU and he looked afraid out there after Poyer nailed him. He just flailed his arms on routes / jump balls hoping to draw a flag and obviously it was so bad Mcd even personally called him out. Thats pretty unusual so it confirms just how disappointing his play was.

The d has huge talent deficits at dl, dt, cb, and safety.  Fans can argue all they want, berate me , etc.  I don’t care , this is the perception of people , experts , paid to analyze the sport and the analysis coming out of Indy alomg reporters row.  The two things saving this franchise are 1) JOSH , of course.  A true probable HOF qb , and may be the most gifted man to ever play the qb position .  2)  we are lucky to be in probably the worst division in football and really pretty much have 6 easy wins to start the season. .  Time is rapidly ticking on these two things.

It’s probably good we didn’t get to the SB, as it would have likely been our 5 th loss. The talent gap was obvious along both lines. They got what , 6 sacks rushing 4 ( their coach said this was the key for their win) while we couldn’t touch Mahomes. Their WRs would have chewed our dbs / safties alive as we couldn’t touch QBs with Von, epenesa, grunt , all disappearing ( certainly no great impact seen ) in the playoffs.  My point is, it’s not about desire or wanting it more or being unselfish imo.
It’s 8   years , 7 with an absolute unicorn at qb who even had a mvp season , and this staff / gm have not even sniffed a SB , let alone win one. I like watching them because of Josh , and they have a team vibe that’s easy to like , and I’ve always followed them   My expectations tho have changed as I see no evidence Beane can build a physically dominate,  talented d line , nor can he surround Josh with enough talent to allow Josh to fully use his skills. They always do things like ask him to not run as much and they have never provided him with more than one good wr or any consistent deep threat.  They depend on Allen , yet they are wasting opportunities and years. It’s not desire , it’s been lack of talent and usually being outcoached in the playoffs. I still think they haven’t won a road playoff game , not really legit SB credentials. They lack talent and their margin of error is usually very slim.

I really appreciate your passion, and agree , but for diff reasons. I don’t care what happens in the draft etc, it’s meaningless until this staff proves they can innovate and adapt , and they can quit drafting rather poorly in key early rounds. Just like speed , you can’t teach talent , you refine it. Lots of early misses , and FA acquisitions have been so/so as miller , Diggs, prior dts like settle , edwards at safety , a cb quitting at half time , all just lead to more issues. I like Mcd / Beane as communicators , good men , but after getting the best qb in football, they look like they are stagnant. . I can’t expect much from them until they quit blundering talent acquisition around a generational qb, and Mcd proves he won’t always be outcoached when it really counts, when it’s win or go home.  Great team to watch , just hard to really believe they will get a Lombardi with this process. Funny , other franchises have proven quick roster fixes are possible ; why doesn’t it ever happen in Buffalo ?

He’s worth it. He should be a priority. He’s worth every penny. If Allen is having a bad game Cook can carry the team.

I think you’re right.  We’ve made our share of personnel issues previously, why chance endings up with another unnecessary hole to fill. He’s only 25, has been a model player doing the growth and process as asked,  and he is probably your best speed threat.   He is a core offensive player.  I would give him 13 for sure or tag him which I think is 13.   Finally have great production in the run game and no assurances how the off season goes and if this staff will support Allen with guys who actually can make plays in the post season. Hopefully they do more than get above avg talent at the wr position and last year wasn’t just an outlier. The problem is , REALITY WE DIDNT WIN THE SB !   You stated as a franchise you would pay guys who develop, so if you paid someome like Knox WHILE drafting kincade , Cook has Been at least that productive if not more kincade might not even fully meet expectations so don’t let someome who has exceeded expectations be undervalued and leave.

I would try 13 or tag him ; if he’s dumb enough to sit out , at least you did all you could. Beane is reluctant to get egg on his face once again , or at least he should be. The cap keeps going up and 13 a year is market value. Then it’s in his hands , most guys know siting out is insane as you can’t recoup a lost year of money.   I think he would play for 13 ; the important issue is the run game and good d got teams to the SB the past couple years and the Eagles are not  going anywhere so don’t lose MORE ground.  Try to not take steps back while the division stinks cuz it won’t stay that way.

Just my opinion; if you had gotten past KC or won a SB, then you have talent to spare but this team  isn’t there yet.  You didn’t even get to the SB With an MVP season at qb! You are drafting 30th ; it would be like letting thurm walk after the first SB; it doesn’t make sense until you prove you can actually win ONE SB, or at least play in one.  Cook has been by far the best RB to play with Allen, Good luck Beane , you’re gonna need it this off season.

You literally just argued against yourself here.  Is the problem o or d?

It’s both , but d has been a very obvious reason for playoff losses.   Both o and d lack true impact talent ( obviously not relative to Allen  or cook. ).      Two things can be true at the same time.    Try looking at the big picture and 8 years of essentially a roster that has just never progressed.

Is it Beane , Mcd, prob both really. My main thought is sooner than you think the great Bills mafia and great Buffalo community may be facing a situation marked by wasting  a true superstar qbs best career years. It’s not a vacuum, 31 other teams also keep competing for players , free agents , and unfortunately this regime has dug a hole exacerbated given the miller injury really derailed things unpredictably, and it’s hard to argue the ultimate goal of a title has so far been mismanaged.  Can you honestly say just reaching two afc championships is a success after , giving all due credit, nailing landing a generational talent at the most important position on the football field ?  It’s an entertaining product and certainly not a train wreck like here in Jacksonville, yet other franchises have reached that goal in shorter time frames and with less talented QBs.

I’m very happy for Allen getting the MVP as I think he is truly a class act ( his work with the children’s hospital is one example of great character) , but ultimately this regime SO FAR has failed him and he has always stated his goal is to win a SB , not collect individual awards.  As a fan, the mvp award doesn’t really replace a missing Lombardi   Hopefully the title will come , but I have seen this franchise never quite live up fully to its potential, and I’m losing faith THIS staff can fix its issues in the next offseason.  Great people , but when the Eagles and Chiefs have made multiple super bowls in Allen’s era , I think it’s fair to question this staff.
The d has been the main weak point ( ppg allowed backs this up) , yet looking at the talent around Allen , and a history of the O ultimately coming up short ( failed drives when game was on the line) in the last two playoffs , it does raise doubts. Check out the last two episodes of the Shout podcast with Parino , and you’ll hear outside observers say the OC seemed to be limited by the talent ( specifically at wr, which is crazy with a great qb).  They also raise the D’s shortcomings   Time will tell as the clocks ticking quickly on ALLENS career. Buffalo is a great community and helped bring about a new stadium.  0 SB titles , no appearances yet with ALLEN, just makes me wonder if it’s time to rethink things. , not by firing Mcd , but he may need a better, more experienced dc who he will accept ideas from. as an example. It’s a result oriented business. Best wishes during the off season!😊✌️

  19. Was he on their staff when Josh had his perfect playoff game?  Just brining in someone doesn’t mean a defensive philosophy change. Has Mcd changed the prior 8 years,,,,does he have a rep for being open minded and flexible ?  Or would he draft a man corner in the first round , know for being handy and penalty prone in college , and adapt the d around the players strengths , or would he force a square peg into a round hole? Hmmm?  Yeah , nothing matters until next years first game , then it counts and we’ll see.

Great job by all those involved.  Bringing back the vast majority of those players could result in another high scoring season this year.

Yeah , that scoring title will make for a great parade and will be talked about for years , especially against the great competition in our division. Which part of the eagles squad played a bigger role in their victory,,,the d with a score , 2 picks , 6 sacks , about a 45% pressure rate , controlling the Top ,limiting Kelce , holding KC to 6 points till garbage time , or,,,,hurts playing pretty well , saquan playing ok, their wr playing very well , or,, special teams?

Just saying , we could score till we started faltering in the last two playoff games ( really we got lucky a dropped pass let us beat the ravens. If we didn’t score in reg , we have never won in ot , so a defensive stand would have been required and that was very unlikely). ,

Our d has been our downfall every year , so run back that o , which was beginning to be figured out , let alone give def coordinators an off season to combat “everybody eats”   You have Josh and cook with a breakout season and we saw how not having at least one other threatening star talent was stopped by KC once again.  The team we haven’t beaten in 4 tries in the playoffs ( because we gave up 32points this year) , literally got 6 points till garbage time against a legit d. They were destroyed by a good front 4 forcing errors , and they were never in the game. So run back that o all you want ( it needs dynamic talent in the wr position), but if that d isn’t drastically improved it will be the same as it always has;   D WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS, always does , and despite a defensive HC, this has been a wasted 8 years with the D ALWAYS BEING THE SUBSTANDARD PERFORMERS at crunch time , wasting away vital years of a superstar qb ( even an MVP OFFENSIVE SEASON DIDNT ALLOW THE BILLS TO SNIFF THE SUPERBOWL).

Not saying it wasn’t a good offensive production year for the bills , but that is proof above all else , it doesn’t matter how you score as many teams can score.  It’s about stopping the run, controlling the line , pressuring the qb AND SACKING HIm,and that is the proven formula to a Lombardi.  The only exception I remember was the greatest show on turf , but the had HOF qb, rb, and wr and their d still made a critical stop.

Don’t forget to get your merch/ gear celebrating leading the NFL in points!  ( you’re not on the staff or a family member, are you?  JK !😀✌️
