‘They say voters get the elected representation they deserve. Sometimes, as those who were part of Jack Kemp’s district can attest, voters get luckier.’

Bills sign former Seminoles LS Sanborn
‘Undrafted out of Florida State in 2008, Sanborn participated in Tampa Bay’s rookie minicamp last year, but failed to make the team, and also had a tryout with the Bills in June.’
Bills sign tryout long snapper
‘The former Florida State product appeared to have a quick and accurate delivery on short snaps for field goals during the weekend workouts. His specialty however, is long snapping and has been timed between .72 and .75 seconds on his delivery which is considered above average by NFL standards.’
Nic Harris already a success story
‘”I grew up without parents and it pretty much shaped me into the person that I am now,” said Harris. “It shaped my mentaility, my morale and the values that I should have, and I wanted to strive to be better than them. I wanted to be a better man. I wanted to be better than my father and my mother.”‘
Kemp had diversity of interests
‘Whether he was on the football field or the halls of congress, he was one of the most interesting and decent men I’ve ever met.’
Fond memories of Jack Kemp, the leader and eternal optimist
‘"You can’t show fear," he once told me. "You can’t show trepidation. You can’t show any emotion that will betray your leadership. If the other players on offense see that, you compound the problem because it immediately surrounds the whole team and doubt creeps into the mind of every other player in the huddle. And if your teammates think there’s a doubt in your mind that the play you’re calling is something less than the best play at the right time, it manifests itself in the loss of that edge."’
