Allen himself also said, “I’d like to think that I have some input in who we get to pick, but honestly, I really don’t.” I wouldn’t 100% agree with that statement. Allen’s input is and should be valuable for the franchise, but when it comes to the draft, Beane rightfully should have the final say. If the scenario you laid out comes to be, Rick, Beane would pull the trigger on the trade for Thomas.’
