‘Most of Beane’s gambles have worked, with Allen becoming one of the top players in the NFL, while linebacker Tremaine Edmunds was a Pro Bowler with the Bills and earned a record contract with the Chicago Bears in 2023. Last year’s top pick, tight end Dalton Kincaid, looks worth the price, although the jury is still out on 2022 top pick Kaiir Elam.’

Players to know when the Bills are on the clock in the first round of the NFL draft
‘Buffalo could trade up to snag a receiver or trade down from the No. 28 pick. Here are some names to watch, regardless of where the Bills pick.’
Scheer: NFL draft stage shows Detroit, yes, Detroit, is lapping us
‘“The draft here in Detroit is going to make a big step for us in making that old image go away and people having the new image of the city,” Gilbert told The Associated Press. “We’re going to be able to showcase Detroit like never before.” Green Bay, smaller in population than Buffalo, hosts the NFL draft next year. That should tell us something, a lot of somethings. Where’s our sports commission? What’s the status of our business community working with public unions and the area tourism agency to pull our NFL proposal together? Sadly, I’m not sure we’re anywhere near in shape enough to do such a thing.’
Opinion: Possible partners, cost for Bills to trade up in Round 1
‘Sitting with the 28th overall selection, there are several teams ahead of the Bills they could try to make a deal with, depending how the board falls. But which teams would be most likely trade partners? How much would it cost to get to those spots?’
Opinion: 2024 NFL Mock Draft
’23.) Buffalo Bills (from Los Angeles Chargers)*: Xavier Worthy – Wide receiver – Texas.’

’28.) Buffalo Bills: Adonai Mitchell – Wide receiver – Texas.’
Who will Bills draft in 1st round? See what experts are saying
‘Shocker: most experts have the Bills taking a wide receiver in the first round.’
Carucci Take 2: Receiver is an obvious Bills draft priority, but where will they pick one?
‘Many media mock drafts have the Bills choosing Adonai Mitchell of Texas. At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, he has excellent size and speed. Mitchell’s ability to consistently beat press coverage, an area where rookie receivers routinely struggle, makes him especially attractive. His shortcomings when it comes to running precise routes and aggressively snatching the ball out of the air are what could push him to the lower part of the first round.’
NFL mock drafts: Here's who the Bills could select in the first round
‘We’ll narrow down that list and provide a sample of who those reporters believe the Bills will select next month. These mock draft selections are current, as of April 24.’
Brian Thomas to the Buffalo Bills? Why it could be the move they need to make
‘Thomas kept things pretty general during his combine interview, but his respect for Allen sure stood out. The Bills have been rumored to select Thomas if he falls to them in plenty of mocks. There’s the chance he gets selected before 28th, but with so much draft capital, the Bills could be willing to move up to draft Thomas.’
Buffalo Bills: 2024 NFL Draft Preview
‘If you plan on staying up to watch the Bills first round selection, make sure you have an extra dose of caffeine. Even if they trade up to a higher pick, the chance of the Bills moving into the top 10 is practically next to zero. This will almost certainly be a later first round pick once the draft starts at 8 p.m.’
Top 7 storylines to watch for in 2024 NFL Draft
‘”I think receivers will stretch to the fourth round, fifth round. You’re going to feel good about some of the receivers still on your board,” Brugler said on One Bills Live. “Now that’s not saying you should wait until you get to the 120’s (to draft a WR).”‘

Transition game: Bills enter NFL draft searching for replacements after roster purge
‘No team with quarterback Josh Allen at the height of his powers will ever be starting over.’
NFL draft preview: Taking a closer look at Bills' needs by position
‘Buffalo Bills fans have another couple of days to watch, study and debate which wide receivers would be the best fit for the team in the draft. The need is obvious after the blockbuster trade of Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, and it was apparent even before the trade of Diggs.’
Final mock draft: Bills make a move up to fill receiver need
’16. Buffalo Bills (projected trade with Seattle). Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU. Beane said it himself – he’s his own worst enemy when it comes to patience on draft day. In four of his six years running the Bills’ draft, Beane has traded out of his original first-round pick, three times in a move up and once for wide receiver Stefon Diggs. He makes another move in this mock to get a receiver who might end up replacing Diggs. Thomas has the size, speed and production that makes him a perfect fit (on paper) for the Buffalo offense. He will need to expand the number of routes he runs in the NFL, but there is no reason to think he’s not capable of doing that. To move up, the Bills send No. 28, No. 60 in the second round, No. 160 in the fifth round and a 2025 second-round draft pick and they also get back No. 81 in the third round this year.’
