There is actually a band (I think it is the Waifes) that has a song about all the Aussie girls that went to Perth and married the yankee sailors. I have heard similar things about Sydney... Yep. A Sydney girl that married a Marine. I was volunteering with the Red Cross and it was love at first sight. He proposed after 48 hours. Amazing what war will do to a guy.
