billybob's Bills off-season moves

Don’t kid yourself the Bills have lots of holes to fill to be a playoff contender- here’s how I’d go about it.

Free agency.

1. O-line first cut Reyes and Villarial- a cap savings of 2.45 mil -resign Gandy and sign Leonard Davis to play right guard- Expensive? sure but he is a great insurance policy cause he can play either tackle and no one will push him into the backfield- Preston will back up at guard and center - if Davis is too expensive you could go with Floyd Womack but he can only back up at RT and is not quite the imposing player Davis is. I expect Steinbeck to be Franchised as the ave of the top five guards is pretty reasonable.

2. D-line Resign Hargrove- signing Cory Redding seems like the best bet -versatile like Hargrove, he could rotate in at DT and LDE - as a run stuffer I like Terdell Sands but at 6,7 335 he seems the opposite of what the Bills want- Kris Jenkins might be a cap cut and there are rumors that Carolina would be willing to deal to get something instead of nothing maybe a 6th this year and a conditional pick next yeat.- Tripplett and Jenkins with McCargo and Williams rotating in - in third and long situations Hargrove and Redding could play DT that wouldn’t be too shabby- Jenkins contract extends through 2009 - 2007 3.2mil 2008 2.9 mil 2009 3.75mil so a 3.2 mil cap hit but no up front money - which would make Ralph happy.

3. TE getting Daniel Graham would be a nice pick up for the Bills - he’s not a super star but he can block and catch the ball- won’t hurt NE unfortunately cause they’ll just use one of their two 1st on Zach Miller or Greg Olsen.

4. RB Najeh Davenport would nice inexpensive pickup.

Cap money spent so far est O-line 8.5 mil D-line 8.5 TE 2mil RB less than a mil so about 20 mil so far which leaves around 14mil minus 5mil for the draft = 9mil that’s enough to resign Nate or get one of the high profile LBs - I’d resign Nate which would cost around 6-7mil against the cap leaving 2-3 mil to sign scrubs in case of injury.

Draft- with O-line, D-line, TE, and CB mostly addressed

1.Marshawn Lynch RB McGahee's eventual replacement

2.Tony Hunt RB Anthony Thomas's replacement

3. Josh Wilson CB Yobouty moves to 3 Wilson moves to 4 or 5 depending on Green

4. Rhema McKnight WR eventual shot at number two receiver

5. For Hargrove

6. For Jenkins

7.Henry Tolbert WR former RB could be a good third down back, slot receiver, or #2 receiver

Yes, of the five picks that you have the Bills having, you think they should draft three running backs? Not only three running backs, but one of them for third down situations. I like what you were saying earlier, but your draft is why you are not a GM. If anything, you would draft Marshawn Lynch, and then pick up a guard. d-lineman, or Lineback with your second round pick.

Tony hunt will share the RB load if not this year then next- I was trying to make LB work but I just don't really like how they fall this year- unless Patrick Willis or Tilman would fall to the Bills in the 2nd round

Very unconventional, and it would piss off a lot of fans. You have to pick any other position as this would be a PR nightmare. This board would crash if that happened.
