I don't think Buffalo will see a new stadium or Major renovations to bring it up to the new NFL stadiums Levels until Ralph no longer owns the team only because of the uncertainty of new ownership. I can almost guarantee that any new owner will probably have something in the purchase agreement that says a new stadium will need to be built (or atleast MAJOR renovations along the lines of what Chicago did to Soldier field) for the new owner to guarantee keeping the team in WNY. Look at Golisano and the Sabres, part of his agreement was that he gets HSBC arena and upgrades it as part of the deal for the Sabres, and HSBC arena is not old at all

that's fine. we get something, they get something. i never advocated we do nothing, just that we get something in return. Paychex Field. I could live with that.

I love the Bills and would hate to see them go.

But, on the other hand, $5+ million from Erie County's budget when the budget is a cluster*&^% to begin with has me asking "what's in it for the people of Erie County?".  not just Bills fans, but everyone who lives there.  what committment can we get from the Bills to staying in the market?  how about a committment to stay at least the 12 plus years the new scoreboard is expected to last? and then, how about increasing the number of replays that we actually want to see over the course of 8 home games, or God forbid, 9 or 10?    and, as they plan the premium customer interaction site to be the benchmark of incerased revenue, who's overseeing the plan to make sure this proposal works, where the last one didn't?

And how about this----how about they sell the naming rights to the stadium and generate a little coinage there as well?  how long does this current deal last?

Ouch. Great line.

What stadiums are older then? (not trying to make a point, just out of curiosity for myself)

The list:

1972 - Arrowhead Stadium

1971 - Texas Stadium

1967 - Jack Murphy Stadium (now Qualcomm)

1966 - Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum (now McAfee)

1958 - Candlestick Park (now Monster)

1957 - Lambeau Field

1924 - Soldier Field

The Superdome (1975) and the Meadowswamp (1976) are close.

The money is coming from NY State, not Erie County. The more they do to upgrade the stadium, the longer the team stays here.

It's one thing in a line of election year stunts to get votes. In the last few weeks, two of the toll booths on the Thruway (Ogden St. and Breckenridge) have been closed, the Bills got $20 million for stadium improvements, the Mega-Casino Downtown was back on after the City of Buffalo sold Fulton Street. Every politician in the state is taking credit for everything. On the bad side, Erie County approved the increased sales tax for another two years. Usually, nothing ever gets done around here.

You need a Ph D. in Political Science to sort through the layers and levels of government in NY State. In addition to the federal government, you have to deal with the State, County and City or Town Governments plus the city has a control board and the county has a control board. Take for example the City of Buffalo. If you live in Buffalo, this is what you are dealing with just on the local level in terms of government-

State Senator

State Representative

Mayor

Common Council

Control Board

County Executive

County Legislators

Control Board

This place is stuck in the 1950's. It's beyond ridiculous and it's really amazing the Bills got anything.

Lets get a program to photoshop the plays on the jumbotron so they look the way we wanted them to come out.
