Lander, the actor best known for playing Squiggy on TV's Laverne & Shirley, will speak in Henrietta this month. He will be joined by Dr. Steven Schwid co-director of the Rochester Multiple Sclerosis Center and associate chair for clinical research, speaking about the latest treatments and research, and by Joel Weintraub, who combines professional comedy experience with his physical therapy master's degree to talk about "humor for the health of it." Lander was diagnosed with the chronic disease in 1984 but hid it from the public for 15 years. His book Fall Down Laughing: How Squiggy Caught Multiple Sclerosis and Didn't Tell Nobody was published in 2000.
