Elsbeth goes Belichick

In the 12/4 episode of the TV show Elsbeth, an athletic director at a college is murdered.  The suspects include the basketball coach and his young girlfriend.  The coach is an old, former NBA head coach with multiple NBA championships who has been hired to coach the college team & his girlfriend is a young woman who some have accused of running his life & the team. Also during his NBA career, the coach has been accused of clandestine taping.

Side note for those who don’t follow football: Coach W. and Peyton are clear, if very fictionalized, analogues for University of North Carolina (and formerly, New England Patriots) football coach Bill Belichick, and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. Like Coach W., Belichick is a legend in his sport who moved into college coaching after winning six Super Bowls. Belichick is currently in his second year of coaching at UNC. The Tar Heels’ 2024 season ended with a 4-8 record, their first since 2018 not to qualify for any bowl game.*** Like Peyton, Jordon Hudson is considerably younger than her partner and rumored to wield controversial influence on and off the field. ***-Obviously this is wrong since this is Belichick's 1st season as a college coach.
