Criticism of McDermott is valid, but commentary like yours that is so far from reality makes it hard for anyone to have a serious conversation. This is far from "anything they want on every 3rd down". McDermott is widely viewed (and backed by data) as one of the best overall defensive coaches in the game. It is well worth having a conversation about his situational play calling or game management, but you have to do it in the context of some pretty successful football.
