Patriots have the same needs we do

You might want to do a little more research.

1) why would the 2nd ranked NFL offese need a deep threat? You don't think Ochocinco can get down field?

2) Patriots are 13th in the league in sacks. They've been w/o Ty Warren all year. He'll be back next year... that will help their pass rush in two ways... his own ability to rush the passer will free up the LB on his side to rush the passer.

3) If anything, the Pats need help in the secondary and at RB.

I don't think Tim's that far off, Doc.

The Cheating Bastards* top sacker is Andre Carter and he's pretty old. Before this season pass rush was seen as a major deficiency for them.

By adding veterans Carter and Mark Anderson, they've improved to being a middle of the road pass rush team.

Yes they have major issues in the defensive backfield which is great because they've invested so many high picks in that area with underwhelming results.

But the Patsies* could address their horrendous pass defense from the pass rush angle or the coverage angle… or both.

As for wide receiver, they have one decent one in Welker. Branch and Ochocinco are retreads with very little left.

They've gone to a tight end-driven offense but who's to say that they wouldn't want to give Brady a deep threat to play with as well? He and Randy Moss were deadly together and to add a legit deep threat on top of Welker and Gronk and Hernandez would make their pass offense unstoppable.

As far as RB goes, except for the bust Laurence Maroney, the Pats have almost always gone the veteran free agent route and don't seem to desire a top shelf running back.
