RIP James Moody

Don't know how this one got by me. Earlier this month, jazz saxophonist James Moody passed away. Moody played with Dizzy Gillespie and is best known for his take on I'm In The Mood for Love. It was known as "Moody's Mood For Love" and it is really rather good. There are many versions out there, including the

and many vocal efforts. The lyrics were written and performed by Eddie Jefferson. It is a tough song to sing, as the vocalist is asked to mimic the sax portion of the song. King Pleasure is also an early performer of the vocal version.
