Just how close is it?

Recommended Posts

The European soccer leagues do this, I believe. The bottom teams fall out of the "top" league, and are replaced with the top teams from the 2nd tier league. No idea how that could possibly work in the NFL though...the complications would be significant.

Better to be the best team in the 2nd tier, or worst in the 1st?

By the way, without your avatar on, well, lets just say it is quite the show on these boards!

Back in the day an NFL team would play a college all star team. I think they did that up until the late 60's.

Yes, the College All-Star game pitted the NFL league champion vs a team of college allstar seniors. The last game was played in 1976.

Even the best College teams only have a handful of players that make it to the NFL. They would get crushed and it would not be close.

lmao the 76 bucs would crush the best college team in history so bad even the crowd would suffer injuries

The College All-Stars played the NFL Champions 43 times.

The NFLers record was 32-9-1.

The College All-Stars last beat an NFL team in 1963 when they beat Vince Lombardi's world champion Green Bay Packers.

The NFL players wouldn't want to do it because they wouldnt be getting paid much and could risk injury and there is no upside for them, just a chance to get embarassed.

The college players wouldn't do it because it could hurt their draft stock to have a bad performance against a tough pro or else get injured.

The whole thing is just a dumb idea.
