Oh great, mister deep understanding calles me a Polak. Will you never grasp the difference between LEGAL citizenship and illegally dropping in to pick up a few bucks and shooting home?

will you ever grasp the difference between 1830 and the new restriction of 1920 and on that make it much harder to become LEGAL?

1830 immigration laws: non-existent. Cost? Boat Ride and like five bucks.

1924 Immigration Act to control which races and how many were allowed to come into the nation. 1929 Great Depression (Random Fact but I'm sure it's not related).

1930s Emmigration numbers outbalanced Immigration numbers to the U.S. and we deported like half a million Mexicans back then.

1965: Got rid of racial quotas, increase of around 15% immigration.

1990: George Bush (The good one) Signed the Immigration act of 1990 that increased immigration 40% and set this nation up for the Boom of the nineties which is the best economy we've ever had (of course unrelated, just another random fact).

Bush (The bad one) enacted security measures not meant to hurt immigration, but to protect us from terror and now more than half of the immigrants that come are doing so illegally. Good call.

Cost now? around 1,000 bucks and a literacy test. Yeah, it was sooooo much harder for the immigrants in the 1830's than now. Please.

We need to stop being morons about what's going on. Stop blaming the immigrants for our problems.

30 million european immigrants came to this nation before our immigration laws screwed up the natural flow of human life. 30 million in 78 years. About 350,000 per year. Almost identical to what we are absorbing now with Mexican immigrants. Because our laws are so ridiculous, and got even more ridiculous in AZ, it is messing up the social system.

The proof is in the numbers. The truth is a stubborn thing right?

So you are saying [i guess] the immigration laws are no good so enforcing them is evil? A country can't control it's immigration unless the whole world approves? I have nothing against immigrates as long as they are legal, regardless of you thinking they are "unfair" laws. It is the law, so use your apparently large political clout to change them.

1,000 bucks and a literacy test? So? What do the typical coyote's get? A lot more I guess. Just do it in the law and I don't care.

It would be "Just do it within the parameters of the law" not "do it in the law". and I have nothing against immigrates either. I would have to know what an immigrate is first though to really make up my mind.

The laws are obviously unfair. Fighting to enforce these ridiculous laws do nothing but destroy human life on both sides. It sucks up money that shouldn't have to be spent.

If an immigrANT is willing to risk his life crossing the border, that should tell you something about where they are coming from. That is number one.

Number two, how do you expect an immigrANT to pay 1,000 dollars when they are coming here BECAUSE THEY ARE BROKE. Oh, I understand, it is just another way to "keep out" the poor. Would not want to have to share YOUR pie with such worthless people now would you. The agony.

My political "clout" is in a small friggen town. I never said I was Celtic the future President of the United States. I will do what I can in MY town, but there is not much I can do in Redneck central. Something tells me I wouldn't appeal to those folks. I'm not intolerant enough and I'm not ignorant enough to appeal to that bunch. I'd have my picture with a hitler mustache in no time, trying to speak to those folks. That being because they do not know the difference between Facist Nazism, Communism, or Socialism. :D

Oh you are a riot. Correcting my grammar after complaining when others mention your's you say you are the big picture guy and can't be bothered with details

Risking their life to cross the boarder makes it OK? If I risk my life to rob a bank that makes it alright? They are breaking the law. period. And by the way, since you are whining about US laws, why do they not go to Canada? Oh right, the bus ticket is to expensive

That's why I did it Jim. I'm sorry I do find it annoying when people miss the point because they are busy correcting the grammar and spelling mistakes. Seriously I was just doing it to show how annoying it is.

That wasn't my point. I was not saying it makes it okay, I said it speaks volumes about how bad it is in Mexico that people would risk death to get here.

I do not understand what you are asking. Why would they not go to Canada, because I am whining about the law? I don't follow. I don't even think the mexican immigrants know I'm whining about the laws. At any rate, I believe they come here because it's closer. I could be wrong. Why don't Cubans paddle to iceland? It's most likely because it's closer, but also that we advertise freedom and opportunity. I think we should give the statue of liberty back to France.

As usual, you missed my point. Canada loves immigrants, encourages them, but maybe these poor, starving Mexicans prefer sunny AZ to windswept Manitoba. When you can't afford $1000 to become a citizen go where you can.

I get it, I just disagree.
