[closed]Incentives to "play to win" late season games

Lots of talk lately about what sort of "incentives" it would take to make teams go all out to win all games at the end of the season when their playoff positions have already been determined. One idea is to reward the teams with the best records some extra draft picks. Just speculating about how that would work.

How many extra draft picks would have to be up for grabs to insure that all the teams participating in the playoffs would have a reason to go "all out" in all late season games? Would extra draft picks go to, say, the top 4 teams? The top 6? Or would it have to be something like "the best record(s) over the last 4 games of the season"? Or best points differential (PF-PA) over the last 4 games? Top team gets an extra pick at the end of the 1st round, 2nd team gets one at the end of the 2nd round, etc, and maybe extend that for the 1st 6 rounds? There would still have to be some sort of "tie breaker" rules. Teams like the Colts might still choose resting their players over trying to pick up an extra first day draft pick, but it's hard to imagine someone like Bill Polian not trying to get an extra 1st round pick if possible.

I like the idea, but am not sure how to structure it to make sure ALL teams always would have at least a difficult decision to make on whether it would be worth it to play all their starters in all their games to the bitter end.

What other sorts of incentives might be possible?
