  1. I am really disappointed in Aaron Maybin and his long holdout. This guy was a one year wonder at Penn St, his is an undersized NFL DE and has alot to learn at the OLB position. But his priorities are about the almighty $$$$ just like his "mentor" Lavar Arrington. His agent Charlie Fields is a former Penn St football player who majored in Human Development and Family studies according to Wikipedia. This is hardly the pedigree of an NFL agent. I do not blame the Bills for his hold out, he is clearly waiting for Crabtree to sign and then leverage his deal for as much money as possible. Meanwhile he has missed 4 weeks of training camp and will probably at best have a minor impact in the second half of the season. Screw you Maybin, Arrington and Fields.

  2. I must admit I am not a J. Sullivan fan. I don't believe he ever provides any insight, he more so provides observations after they occur and yes they are negative most of the time. The problem I have is that Sirius radio is my outlet for NFL Football. It's bad enough I have to hear Sullivan's opinion via The Buffalo News and WGR but now Sirius as well. There are plently of other reporters that Sirius can get on to discuss the Bills besides Sullivan (J.Murphy, L.Felser, V.Carucci, to name a few). He should stick to writing about and commenting about his crappy golf skills of which I could care less about.

  3. If you look at the success of the Patriots the last 10 years they consistently trade down in the draft and let perceived star players walk out the door (see Bledsoe, Milloy, Branch) and load up on draft picks. Cutler is clearly better then Bledsoe but I like the idea of loading up on draft picks like the Patriots have done and continue to do (see this year's draft).

The Bills continually trade up in the draft for players like Losman, McCargo, Poz and look were it gets them.

Overall I think the Broncos will reap the rewards of this trade in the long run.

  4. As for my source, I know Terrance McGee's agent, he is a local person who represents multiple Bills and I was told this during the middle of last season (Mitchell's discontent that is). I'm sure multiple Bills besides Mitchell were upset after starting 5-1 and finishing 7-9.

Again the only reason I brought this up is because his jersey is discounted at The Bills Store, it nows makes sense that he is probably switching his number to #55 after Crowell's departure. I'm sorry for shaking up the hornet's nest.

  5. Typically most jersey's that are for sale on The Bills Store website are ex Bills (see Losman, Crowell) but they are also offering a Kawika Mitchell jersey for sale. Am I to read into this? I'm not trying to start a rumor but I have heard that he is not happy in Buffalo and has been a bit of a distraction in the locker room. I'm also not saying this guy is a stud but he is a decent player and we are already short of depth at the linebacker position so I hope we keep him.

  6. - We have a Subpar front office (Director of Pro Personnel, John Guy, and Marketing/GM Russ Brandon) both are in over their heads

    - We have poor personel (no Pro Bowl starters)

    - We have an injury plaqued QB

    - We have a RB that continually gets into trouble with the law

    - We have a LT that thinks he is the best at his position even though the tape and his stats do not back up his beliefs

    - We have a great Special Teams coach and unit

    That is what we are.

  7. New England is successful because they understand there is better value in drafting players in the late first round and the second round. They would never trade up into the top 5 and invest a huge contract in a player that has never played a down in the NFL. They consistently trade down every year in the draft and stock up on draft picks. They also never over react to the start of free agency by overpaying for "big name" free agents and it appears to me that their formula is working.

The Bills however have consistently traded up in the draft (Losman, McCargo) and signed high priced free agents (Dockery) and have no playoff appearences to show for their efforts.

I for one am glad we are not overpaying for these high priced free agents that everyone panic's and overpays for early in free agency. I however have little faith in the judgement of John Guy and Russ Brandon as talent evaluators. Hopefully we make a few hits in the draft this year and build upon our youth and are competitive this season but we are clearly still located in the basement of the AFC East.

  8. Every year this guy overspends for big ticket items and every year they either barely sqeak into the playoffs or miss them entirely. I get going after Haynesworth but not for that price, and DeAngelo Hall are you kidding me?

Enjoy another shortened season little Danny and thanks for driving up the price of talent in this league.

  9. Eric Moulds anyone???

Eric Moulds is one of the most under rated Bills. He was dominate for a 4-5 year period, it's too bad he didn't have any help. The season he and Peerless had over 1,000 yards each was the closest we had to a dominate offense since the Kelly years. It's too bad it was with a concrete shoe wearing QB.

  10. Dockery has been nothing but average his entire time in Buffalo and today he was less then average. How Preston puts himself in that position before the half I have no idea. I know it's easy to take shots at Jauron but Preston has to understand the situation and the Center is suppose to be the leader of the line and he should be running back to the line of scrimmage to prepare for the field goal attempt. Even in his sound bites after the game he took no responsiblilty for his actions. He certainly has his faults but this season is not all on Jauron.

This team's identity is a that they have a very good special teams unit and that is it. We need to focus all of our offseason efforts to improve one side of the ball. I don't care if it's offense or defense but we need to be great on at least one side of the ball.
