  1. Let's see what's been covered:

    mandatory CFL reference.. check

    mandatory street cleaning reference.. check

    mandatory fast food reference.... NOPE

can't you guys think of anything different? in any thread where jp losman is mentioned, you're guaranteed to have all 3 of the above.

He's rehearsing his new line... Would you like to super-size that? From what I hear, he's almost got it down.

    There. Check.

  2.

    How is this negative???

Not shooting down the Bills organization, not crapping on the GM,

just passing a respected journalists story to the board.

If the story is true, the fact he visited us first, and has not signed

yet, kinda made you thing he was not going to be a Bill.

Again, explain how that is negative??

He meant comments by the Bengals fans below the article that you posted.

  3. Nothing major, but something to consider. To my knowledge, here are the facts...

    1. Fitzpatrick's deal with the Bills is undisclosed.

    2. His salary last season for Cinci was $932,520.00.

    3. Trent has two years left on his contract, '09 for $460,000.00 and '10 for $550.000.00.

Given the fact that Fitz was signed very early in the FA period, I'm assuming that he struck a deal in the neighborhood of $900k to $1mil per season. IF that turns out to be the case, how will Trent respond to his backup making more than double? Will the Bills have to renegotiate Trent based on Fitzpatrick's contract? I highly doubt that RF took a 50% pay cut on day 1 of FA to join the Bills.

    UPDATE: Fitzpatrick's contract #'s are in. per rotoworld. 2/27/2009: Signed a three-year contract. 2009: $1.8 million, 2010: $2.3 million, 2011: $2.8 million, 2012: free agent.

So in '09 Fitz makes $1.8 mil while Edwards makes $460.000 and in '10 Fitz gets $2.3 while Edwards makes $550.000.

Does Trent play out '09 like a good soldier or will he or his agent cry foul?

Does Dick have other plans for a fellow Ivy-leaguer than simply a non-threatening backup?

  4. There is your answer. And it is not the possible suspension, in my opinion based on the way Goodell has come down on off-field behavior, it is the suspension of Lynch, and how long it may be. I'm guessing it will be at least 8 games, because Goodell let Lynch off without missing any games after his "traffic accident" less then a year ago. I think the circle jerks may be thinking the same thing about Marshawn, and want some insurance at RB. I don't think the Bills will trade Lynch, he has too much upside after this incident is over, and he's still a very young man.

I can buy that. The reason they're shopping for a veteran backup is in anticipation of a Lynch suspension to start the season and to have quality depth at the position in the case of injuries. Good planning.

  5. I don't refute that he tried to do right by this city, and I

commend him for that. Just wish he did pan out as a

    QB for this team.

IMO, that's where the hostility towards JP comes from. We moved up to grab him in the first round which produced Eli Manning, Rivers, Big Ben, and then Just Putrid. Sweet.

  6. JP being #10 is not that shocking to me...I've been saying, he is not viewed as negatively around the NFL as much as the Bills fans on this board see him. Its widely believed he was grossly mishandled here, and when a kid has that much raw ability, there will always be a coach who think they can get more out of him.

Im not endorsing him, just saying he isnt viewed as bad as the posters on this board. As always, many posters go to the extreme in player evaluation (Trent is god and can do no wrong, JP belongs in AFL kind of thing), doesnt mean real football minds in the NFL agree...

I would agree. Breaking the guys leg in his first training camp was a stroke of genius. Only in Buffalo!
