  1. Ok people, stop and read the facts. A lot of people here are bashing the FO for trading Lynch for a 4th round pick.

    Here's a snippet of one of the articles linked here.

    Bolding by me;

    Jay Glazer of FOX reports that the Seahawks have finagled Lynch from the Bills for a fourth-round pick in 2011 and a conditional pick in 2012.

    A lot of posters I've read in this thread seem to think it's for a fourth rounder only. How about we lay off of the FO bashing until we find out what the conditional pick is. :wallbash:

  2. Damn...that sucks.

    I saw him last thanksgiving in Philly. He was with Dave Attell and one of the other roast guys. He was by the far the funniest of the three I thought. He had this bit about thanksgiving dinner and how "tryptophan" has become the most annoying buzz word. How there's always one tool who likes to throw that word around like he's an intellectual. He had me crying I was laughing so hard.

    I read he was a very, very accomplished student growing up. I think he went to Columbia undergrad and then Harvard law. Interesting career path for a circuit comedian...

    RIP, Greg.

    RIP Greg, you were one funny !@#$!!!

  3. Bull. Hey here is the deal either they can play the 18 games for the same overall salary or go get a damn job. No one holds a gun to these guys heads and says don't go out and get a degree with that FREE education the college you went to is giving you, instead go play football. Legal term applies here 'Asumption of risk'. They know the risks of putting their bodies through an NFL career and choose to do so.

    I am 100% with the owners across the board with 18 games, manditory BLOOD tests for Steroids, HgH etc, Rookie salary cap and the players not being paid 60% of the teams income. it has gotten WAY out of hand where the EMPLOYEES think they run the business.

    IMO, it won't be for the same salary they will pro rate the existing contracts at a per game rate and add two more weeks of pay. JMO

    Also, they should add a second bye week for each team. This would give players another week during the season to heal and TV stations another week of games.

    I also believe that if they are going to 18 games the size of the active roster needs to be increased to approx. 60-65 players and if a rookie wage scale is put in then the percentage of money the players get right now shouldn't change. JMO

    You mean the same colleges that makes millions of 18-22 year old kids who don't see a cent of that money? That seems fair.

    And that fact you are on the owners' side just makes more even more confident that the players are right.

    I agree slightly with you and used to agree with you fully, until I realized that to go to Notre Dame as a student it's $38,480, per year. These athletes get "paid" almost $40,000 a year. What they choose to make of their education is up to them. The vast majority of these guys won't even get a quick glance by professional sports leagues so if a guy wants to waste the free education it's his right, but a damn fool thing to do. IIRC, less than 1% of all graduating scholarshipped football players make it to a 53 man NFL roster every year.

    I don't know if the scholarships include books but food and lodging are included. It's a very sweet deal if they use it right. The money the school makes off the athletic program goes to keeping tuition down for those without academic or athletic gifts that enable them to have a free education.

    If my family was mortgaging the house in order to send me to Notre Dame I'd be livid any time someone complained about the players being taken advantage of.

    However, I do see your point. It seems they are taken advantage of because of the total number of dollars involved, but after thinking it through I'm a lot more on the college's side. JMO

    Strange choice of words from Polian. It is a done deal on one side only at this point.

    I don't think so. I believe Polian is one of the people on the negotiating team and is stating something that has been agreed upon, now, by both sides, JMO

  4. You can coach accuracy, to an extent, just like anything else. They work on drills to improve their footwork and delivery and other mechanics all the time, to help get more consistently accurate throws. You can also coach basketball shooters with better shooting techniques. But at a certain point, good shooters are just good shooters, and accurate quarterbacks are just accurate.

    Shaq and free throws is the best example I can think of.

  5. Did anyone watch the Sunday Night game? There were times Henne couldn't hit the barn side of a broad. He overthrew a lot of guys and there was one pass at the end of the game, I forget to who, that all he had to do was throw it to him about 10 yards away. The guy was just standing there and the DB had passed him and not turned around yet. IIRC, this occurred in the endzone.

    This is probably not the exact correct thread for this post but I'm sick of this Henne is going to be good BS. You put TE, RF or BB behind their O-line and they'd outplay Henne by a mile. JMO

  6. Damn! The annual Lockport sex party at the fire hall is canceled? What has this world come to?

    I thought this was particularly amusing:

    Of course we are all SHOCKED that anyone would even imagine a volunteer fireman would commit adultery.

    Effing puritans!! :angry:

  7. I'll take Zooey Deschanel over Katy Perry (they have similar faces), but yeah she's a hottie. What I don't love is our stupid faux-Puritanical society, which somehow thinks this would "scar" 3 year olds.

    :worthy:

    !@#$ing attention whore. Seriously showing cleavage on sesame street? I would never wear tight !@#$ing pants to show off my package on a kids show. Like I said, !@#$ing attention whore

    Ummmm, you do know that costume designers that work for Sesame Street decide what people on the show will wear, right?

    You have a bad memory. Pop stars have been part of the Street forever. (So many I can't list...here's the list of just hte "As" followed by the complete list.)

    * Jessica Alba, defining the word "scrumptious"

    * Buzz Aldrin, who answers Cookie Monster's question about whether the Moon is a big cookie

    * Jason Alexander

    * Maya Angelou one segment with some of the kids and Elmo singing about the fact they like their names 'just fine'.

    * Kofi Annan, then the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Annan defuses a conflict between the Muppet monsters. Annan has also appeared on Takalani Sesame, a South African adaptation of the series.

    * India.Arie

    * Alan Arkin

    * Will Arnett

    * Arthur Ashe

    One of my favorites;

    "Chickens just back from the shore" :lol:

  8. News flash buddy the Bills team and staff have also picked the Pack to win. You are on your own because you're nuts.

    If you're not a Bills fan why waste your time here? :rolleyes:

    being a true fan does not = always picking them to win. frankly, i'd bet the house on the pack tomorrow. doesn't make me less of a fan whatsoever.

    i'm willing to bet you're giving bills fans a bad name by sounding delusional.

    BBM

    Would you be a good husband if you told your wife she'd most likely fail at something?

    No, being a true fan is, IMO, saying that it looks like Buffalo will have their hands full but that with RG out the Bills will probably stack the line and make Rodgers throw into one of the top five secondaries in the NFL a lot. This board would be so much nicer if the band wagon fans only posted when the team was doing well. JMO

    Look for Byrd to have a big day tomorrow.

  9. Now that was awesome!

    Particularly sweet because I really hate ND! It took me a split second to realize what they were doing and then he caught it and was just gone, nobody near him. It was pretty amazing when it all finally sank in. It looked like nobody on ND was prepared for something like that.

    That's a classic example of; "If it works you're a genius." "If it fails you're an idiot."

  10. Honestly, I be surprised if anything happened until AFTER the game on Sunday. Swapping players who had knowledge of each other playbooks doesn't make sense until after the game is over.

    Agreed, if this is indeed true.

    Pat Lee is a CB, i don't see any possibility that he is involved with this trade and leads me to think these are just rumors.

    I could see him as a negotiating tool that they'll drop to look like they are giving in on something. JMO

    It's also possible that what is written below is part of it too.

    This is going to sound far fetched, but if this is true maybe the reason the Bills want a corner is that they know of another team in need of a corner that is willing to trade for a player we want at a position of need...... I know it sounds stupid but I just thought I'd speculate

    As long as we're making daring predictions I'd say that if Lee is involved that Amstel could be right. The Bills, supposedly, want Gaither. BMore supposedly wants CB's. Could it be Lynch for Lee and Jones from GB and then Terrence McGee to the cRavens for Gaither?

    That makes sense. If Lynch does not suit up this weekend, we'll know he's history. Can't imagine they would play him, especially vs. Green Bay, if there was a deal in place or imminent.

    Or they could showcase him to get GB to agree to the deal. The danger there is that he ends up sucking or injured.

  11. I would take E Wood any day... I am glad we made that trade, We are stuggling with out JP but I think Bell will come around...

    If the Bills seriously tried a trade to get him back. It would take Eric Wood and a draft pick from Philly to get him. The Bills got the best of that deal big time. Wood wasn't the only draft pick. IIRC, the Bills got Shawn Nelson with an Eagles pick.

  12. Was he thrown to even once before that TD drive? I don't think he was, but I can't remember for sure. I might feel better about him being a weapon that can no longer be ignored if they actually threw the ball to him a little more.

    He had two receptions for 35 yards. Making him the second leading receiver on the team yesterday. The TD pass to him was a thing of beauty and yet the smarter people here :rolleyes: refuse to acknowledge it.

    It's one game and if they beat the Packers next week that will be one game too. The board should start selling panty debunchers here. :rolleyes:

    did someone in this thread say that the reason the dolphins didn't score a lot was because they didn't need to?

    Yep, they did. :rolleyes: The Dolphins, evidently, came into the game with the notion that they would only half heartedly try to score points. :lol:

    Pathetic - from Miriam Webster, line 3..... "pitifully inferior or inadequate."

    http://www.merriam-webster.com/netdict/pathetic

    Using the true definition of the word, you're telling me the Bills offense minus the hurry up TD to Roscoe wasn't pathetic? Trent Edwards wasn't pathetic? The O-line wasn't pathetic?

    Maybe I watched a different game or my TV was upside down.

    BBM

    Yeah, take out a great play and ignore it in order to make your point. It was a fourth down play that the Dolphins knew had to be a pass and they failed to stop it. It was a great play, why deny that? They were bad, they weren't pathetic.
