  1. It would be interesting to know how much the Bills use machines and muscle isolation exercises as compared to whole body exercises like, sand bags, kettlebells, Olympic lifts, sled pushing and pulling, hill sprints, tire lifts, heavy bag punching and kicking and so on- the reason people went to machines is it seemed like a good way to limit injuries in training but sports are dynamic and for the last ten+ years more trainers have been going in the direction of trying to build strength and conditioning using full body exercises that build strength in all different angles and directions.

  2. My guess is by this time he's let himself get out of shape and doesn't want to embarrass himself- situations like this make me wonder about performance incentives are they avoided by players or teams- if I thought I was better than the contract offer I'd say fine but if I make certain goals I want a bonus and a renegotiation of the contract.

  3. The Bills drafted Levitre a few picks before the Vikes took huge Phil Loadholt. Loadholt is a "load", 6'8 335 lbs. He's already starting at RT today against the Browns for the Vikings. Watching this kid play pretty well today, I'm confused as to why the Bills took a smaller RT in Levitre, and went to the trouble of converting him into their starting guard, when Loadholt was available for them to draft. Brad Butler had just finished playing a pretty good season at guard, so he could have stayed there with a year experience under his belt, while obviously, Loadholt would be the Bills' starting RT going into tomorrow night. Instead, OL coach Kugler had to help Levitre learn the guard position coming from playing tackle, and Butler had to learn the tackle position coming from guard.

I would would have preferred Loadholt or Sidbury over Bryd - Hope Bryd is the next Ed Reed - otherwise I'm gonna be critical of the pick for a long time.

  4. Bills FO: Walker get over here you are our new starting LT

Walker: Thank you sir but I don't think I'm really cut out for LT, I've tried before and I sucked.

Bills FO: Listen Walker we're in the Bills front office and we know what we are doing, just do your best

Walker: yes sir I'll do my best

    some times passes

Bills FO: Walker why did you tell us you could play LT, you stink, you suck, we are cutting you right now, we can't abide people like you in our fine organization.

  5. Fred Jackson says in this report that "we know what we are doing now." That is the best news I've heard in a while.

Walker was never going to work in the no huddle even at RT. This line is now set-up to run a fast tempo offense - no fat slobs. We now have an athletic left tackle. Fred Jackson may be a better running back for this offense than Lynch. We have the receivers. Hopefully the QB. We now have a coordinator that understands how to run the no huddle.

This is the first optimistic reading of the Walker cutting that makes any sense to me- while your optimism offends me I cannot assail your logic, well played sir, well played.

  6. Jon Runyan

Cons: 35, coming off serious injury, Even if he was healthly can a giant 35 yo man thrive in a fast paced no-huddle attack.

Pros: was one of the better RTs in the NFL, there is a history of OTs playing effectively until almost 40, a game that is based on size, strength and intelligence can last much longer than one based on speed and quickness. (see Ted Washington)

  7. So let me get this straight.

Langston Walker was supposed to be the best man for the most difficult position on the O-line until recently.

Now he's not even good enough to provide OL depth on a team with very little OL depth?!

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I think Walker was anything more than an average RT who struggles too much at LT.

It's not that I don't like this Bell kid who might turn into a solid starter. (maybe)

And it's not that I don't understand that football's a business first and Walker's bloated contract was an issue.

Business is business but come on now.

If Ralph really wants to build his fortune no matter how many people he causes to suffer....

then why not sell the team and buy a major Nike or Reebok etc. factory in Asia where he can make his fortune much bigger by having 12 year old kids making $.10 an hour working for him. (Standard practise in Asia.)

In other words, there are plenty of legal ways that a rich as#%oles can build their fortunes that don't involve torturing football fans.

Here's the real question - if you're taking a shot at the playoff as the T.O. signing suggests why just blowup the Oline - if you are rebuilding why did you rent T.O. for a year and why didn't you cut Schobel, Kelsay, and Denney- The Bills always seem incoherent to me because I think in terms of building a playoff team but they make perfect sense if there goal is to sell as many season tickets as possible at the smallest outlay of cash.

  8. I love that people are ready to pack it in BEFORE the damn season starts. Listen, we ridded ourselves of dead weight. Langston Walker being the HEAVIEST of that dead weight. Comedy aside, Turk=terrible, Walker=Fat turd with average skills, Rhodes=average for his price tag. But I am here to talk OFFENSIVE LINE.....to the so-called "experts" who are complaining about our BLOWN UP offensive line. Well, I don't know about you, but this is exactly what I have been waiting for. I am so sick of the Panos, Teague, Villarrial, Ben Anderson, Gandy, Fowler, Reyes, Walker, Dockery, Whittle's of the world...... Now THIS is a commitment to the line....5 young guys jelling TOGETHER!! You can take my season tickets

    "FROM MY COLD DEAD HAND"!!

So when your hand is in the same condition as your brain we can have the tickets- good to know.
