  1. I'm still not convinced that our OL and QB are solid but they sure have played alot better in the past two weeks. Because of this, if they continue to progress and we continue to win games, we might end up having to go defense with our first round pick. Our heart and soul leader Fletcher might not be resigned and Spikes is not "guaranteed" to make it all the way back to his pre-injury days or even close to it and we might need to get a blue chip prospect in here to compensate for these two devastating losses. Patrick Willis is a BEAST and a DIFFERENCE MAKER who would excel in our particular defense. Yes, we also need a top flight receiver and (or) tight end but if they are not available in the first round, and we keep dropping by winning these games, we might have to go with the best available and I wouldn't be surprised if its Willis, especially if we lose Fletcher and Spikes doesn't return to form. Also, I wouldn't mind filling any OL needs with a quality free agent or two.
  2. As much as I want to believe in Losman being our leader for the next 10 years or so, I'm still not convinced after his first truly good game since the Jets. Yes, I know I know, the offensive line has definitely been a factor with his lack of progress but some of his decision making, telegraphed throws, and fumbles have contributed mightily to his stunted growth. Lets face it, the Jets and Texans are not defenses you can come back and say "Yeah, Losman is on the fast track to stardom". The Texans also were without their two starting DT's and various other injuries which helped make our offensive line and QB look much better then they really are. I'm not trying to be negative towards my beloved Bills but I'm trying to be realistic, as long as Losman continues to look pathetic against top defenses (like Bledsoe always did), I will have a hard time jumping on the Losman bandwagon. I do have to say though that although our offensive line is definitely a weak link, they seemed to have made "some" progress since the bye week. I like a healthy Preston then injured Villarial, Peters at LT then Gandy, Pennington then Reyes. I really want to be proven wrong on these remarks so please have a good, solid game today Losman, but I'm thinking the Jags are gonna run, run, and run some more all over us today with our offense being unable to generate first downs and our defense wearing down in the second half from being on the field so long.
  3. After the first few games of this year, I really thought Losman had made tremendous strides and was a different quarterback. Yes, he still made some inexperienced mistakes but his throws were strong, on the money, and his decision making had improved. This all held true with the same below average OL that we still have today. Well, Losman has seriously regressed and regardless of the play calling, OL, etc.... Losman continues to demonstrate the following: - poor pocket presence - telegraphs his throws - poorly thrown passes either to covered receivers or open receivers - horrible decision making when pressured and inability to hold onto the ball He just looks terrible and seems to lack confidence and leadership abilities. Heck, I think even his teammates and coaching staff have lost complete trust in his abilities. You combine that with the horrible pass protection of the OL and you can see where the weak play calling (especially in the red zone) comes from. We have to be one of the most boring teams in the league on offense. I don't think I had a single offensive play to really get excited about lately. Special Teams and Defense seems to be all the highlights these days and I think for being undersized, the DL has been holding up decent considering the amount of time they have to be on the field. When was the last time the Bills produced a winner on the field? When we had a solid OL and a strong armed, smart QB in Jim Kelly, not to mention a great coaching staff to go along with that. Definitely not a boring team! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that we will continue to produce losing seasons until we address the three most important areas of our team, OL, DL, QB. Tom Donahue didn't help things trading away at least 3-4 top draft picks for the Losman and Bledsoe deals. We could have used those picks to address major areas of need on our team (in the trenches) and instead, we look for a quick fix (Bledsoe/Losman) that will never take us anywhere and in Bledsoe's case, never did. I feel sorry for our defense when they play their hearts out the last two weeks and the offense does absolutely nothing. As much as I want the Bills to win every game, you can't help but think of the other side of the coin after another loss and start thinking of the positives by saying "Boy, how good would Troy Smith or Brady Quinn look throwing footballs for the Buffalo Bills". I'm seeing guys like Tony Romo, Philip Rivers, Vince Young, Rex Grossman, come in with LESS NFL games under their belt and produce better then Losman. They show better pocket presence, decision making, throws, leadership, etc..... These players don't have the best OL's in the NFL and in Dallas's case, one of the worst, but they are still producing. These youngsters are also exciting and fun to watch with some obvious upside to their careers. When I see Losman REGRESS like he has and talk about all the "mistakes" he needs to work on and how the OL is not getting beat, just "missed assignments"........... I WANT TO THROW UP! Its been 9 games already, why not put Nall in for a few games to see how he does. He can't be any worse then Losman and if somehow he is, whats the worst that can come from that, WE MOVE UP IN THE DRAFT TO TAKE A FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE JIM KELLY!
  4. EDGERRIN JAMES LOOK WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A GOOD BACK HAS NO LINE!
  5. I'm in 3 ESPN Fantasy Hockey Leagues and I was lucky enough to get Ryan Miller with my second round draft pick in all of those live drafts. I knew he would be great but I never expected a 9-0 start. If people outside Buffalo didn't know much about Ryan Miller during last years playoffs, they sure respect him and the Sabres whole team now. The Sabres are the talk of the league and rightfully so.
  6. Since this is a bye week, I figured I would send out a positive post to cheer up all you Buffalo fans! Tonight the Sabres set a franchise record for consecutive opening season wins with their 9th straight. Not only that, with a win in N.Y. vs the Islanders on Thursday, we can tie the NHL all-time record for opening season wins at 10. I bet Miroslav Satan was wishing he was here now! Wait, it gets even better..................................if the Sabres do win on Long Island Thurs, they will return to Buffalo for a Saturday Night game against the high powered Atlanta Thrashers in hopes of setting an ALL-TIME NHL Record for most consecutive wins to start a season (11). Can anyone say 2007 Stanley Cup Champions? I know its still early with a long season to go but damn they look AWESOME! Is anybody going to the game on Saturday night to witness HISTORY? Please bring a championship to Buffalo!
  7. WOW! Sounds great to me. I gotta believe Ralph WILL open his purse strings and dough out some money for top notch lineman because he wants to see a winner before he leaves the "playing field". Hell, he's not gonna take any money with him! He also mentioned it was a mistake to let people like Pat Williams go and that he feels bad for the people of Buffalo who come out to witness these sub par performing games and that the fans deserve better. Ralph will do something about it this mess, I'm almost sure of it. I just wish they would have hired Mike Sherman last year instead of Juaron. I like Jauron but I just think Sherman is a winner who gets things done.
  8. Billsdaily.com has an extremely outdated view of the salary cap for next year. I know we still have a long season left but after the last 3 horribly played games by the Bills and their 2-5 record, one can't help but wonder what the future looks like for next year. It says something like Mike Williams and Eric Moulds account for 5.9 and 5.3 Million Dollars in Dead Cap Money. It also has Bennie Anderson - 1 Mil Lawyer Milloy - 1.25 Mil Sam Adams - 375,000 Mark Campbell - 237,500 all players with dead cap money. That all translates into 14 MILLION DOLLARS OF EXTRA CAP SPACE NEXT YEAR from these players alone. Also, I have no idea on what cap relief (if any) we will get on the Troy Vincent and Jeff Posey release from this year. I'm still not sure what the thinking is on Nate Clements although I can't see them paying him what he "thinks" he is worth. London Fletcher and Chris Kelsey? Who knows if they'll be back or not? Please release Matt Bowen and Tim Anderson. One is hurt all the time throughout his career and the other is a "college only" great player. I have to believe that once and for all, management will see that the game is won in the trenches and finally pay strict attention to upgrading our lines on both sides of the ball through free agency and the draft. The only problem is that we won't be the only team bidding for the marquee players on the market and I'm not even sure what players that will be that are out there for the taking. Can anyone please give some accurate information of what our salary cap looks like for next year and what upcoming free agents will be available in 2007. Thanks
  9. DATE IS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29TH AT 9:00PM EASTERN TIME. HOPING WE CAN GET THE LEAGUE FULL WITH 10 FANS OF THE BUFFALO BRAVES. ITS AN OFF WEEK FOR THE BILLS SO IT WILL GIVE US SOMETHING TO DO AFTER WE COME DOWN FROM A WEEKEND OF PARTYING AFTER THE BILLS UPSET THE PATS!
  10. I know its only one drive, but hey.............its one drive better then Losman had the entire game against the Bears. Leinart will have his growing pains and all but he looks a hell of alot better through a game and a half of NFL action then Losman has his entire career. Its not like Leinart has a better OL then us either. Although I truly believe Losman has the stronger arm, the accuracy and decison making skills of Leinart are far superior. Even if the Cards do nothing else the rest of this game against the Bears, Leinart sure looks like the real deal..............I just wish it was the real deal in a Bills uniform. We haven't had a strong offense since the Jim Kelly days. With no solid and consistent quarterback play, combined with a less then average OL, the Bills will always struggle to establish themselves until these two areas are addressed and taken care of quickly. I like Whitner, but would have loved Leinart. Can't pass on a top flight quarterback like that when he drops that far, regardless of how many other "unproven" quarterbacks you have on your roster. Leinart is a natural leader who earns respect from his teammates, I wish I could say the same about Losman. I hope Losman one day proves me wrong though.
  11. If we are winning the game, I have no problem challenging. If we are losing AND the play is inconclusive on replay, I don't go against the field call and risk the much needed time out. That 45 seconds could have made a big difference on our last poss. Nobody still answered my initial question. When was the last time we won a challenge? Whether you agree or not with the call, once again the challenge has bit us in the ass and we have never benefited from such things.
  12. That play was way too close to call on whether it was an INT or not. In that situation, not worth risking a time out when the call on the field will take preference over inconclusive. Did that play look "definite" that it was an INT? Obviously it wasn't an INT.
  13. P.S. Mike Gandy truly sucks! Will we ever get a bonafide top notch LT to protect our quarterback? Where is Will Wolford?
  14. First Greg Williams, then Mike Mularkey, now Dick Jauron. Every single time we challenge it seems like it is never reversed and always ends up costing us in the end. At least 4-5 times this year, Jauron could have challenged plays and did not when T.V. replay showed we possibly could have won those challenges. Today, he finally throws the flag when replays were definitely inconclusive and definitely not enough to overturn the call on the field. So, we lose a time out (45 seconds) that we could have used to try and get into FG range. Williams and Mularkey were the Ultimate Professionals at throwing the flag at the wrong times and not throwing it when they should. When will a Bills coach finally do the right thing and throw it (if) and when appropriate? I guess Marv Levy is the only one bright enough to manage these things. Although I do happen to like Jauron, especially compared to those other two numbnuts, I was disappointed in his coaching today............and not just on the challenge. The whole Bills team didn't seem to show up and it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out they were going to continue to go to Roy Williams until we slid the help coverage that way and stopped them. We made Kevin (Fantasy Football Dud) Jones look like Barry Sanders today. Those two players kicked our butts. By the way, who the heck missed that tackle on the 3rd down and six play near the two minute warning in the fourth quarter? I think it was #25, K. Thomas...............good going! Sorry everyone, just frustrated and venting.
  15. You guys are awesome. I was curious about some Buffalo Braves stories but couldn't imagine they would be this good. You were all so lucky to see the Braves in person. I wish they could have kept the team in Buffalo and didn't make some of those ridiculous trades. Can you imagine a young McAdoo, Malone, Dantley, Randy Smith, etc..... on the same team? I don't care how much money was involved, when you have a chance to bring a championship to a city like Buffalo, YOU GO FOR IT! The city of Buffalo will be ROCKING IN SPRING OF 2007 WHEN THE SABRES BRING HOME THE STANLEY CUP!!! BRING BACK THE BRAVES WHILE YOUR AT IT!
  16. I never even realized we had Moses Malone, even if it was for one game. I also never knew that we had one of the best basketball coaches of all time in Jack Ramsey. Len Elmore was a guest speaker at our Sports Banquet in high school and the reason why I never forgot that was because one of my teammates on the Varsity Basketball team forgot his shoes so he wore hi top flouresent basketball sneakers with his suit and he actually got an award for Most Improved Player. You never saw anyone run up to receive an award so fast and then return to his seat even faster........it was hilarious. It was great meeting Len Elmore that night. He was really cool and pure class. Little did I know he had played for my favorite team when I was so young. I would have loved to ask him McAdoo and Smith stories..........not to mention what his first impressions of the young kid Moses Malone were when he first came to the team.
  17. Oops, I just went back to the website and got answers to a couple of my own questions. Still curious as to who has some inside scoop on some Buffalo Braves experiences. Great website, bring back the BRAVES!
  18. I know this is off the subject of our beloved Bills but was just curious what people out there got to see Bob McAdoo, Randy Smith, and Ernie D play in their prime. For some strange reason, I decided to look for Buffalo Braves information and I found a website (http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nba/buffalo/bufbraves.html) with stats, pictures and other stuff on it. When I was growing up (7-8 years old) the Braves were my team and I only remember being able to see a couple of games on T.V. Randy Smith at one point had a consecutive games played streak and McAdoo was a BEAST. I also didn't realize that the Braves drafted Adrian Dantley out of Notre Dame. Anyway, kudos to any of you who were lucky enough to see the Braves in person and sure wish they still had a team in Buffalo. Does anyone even know why they left town to begin with? Any good stories out there about a game you saw in person that really stood out? Which one of you Bills fans were present at the last Braves game ever played in Buffalo? Thanks
  19. Anyone's guess as to how long McCargo could be out? I'm thinking he might be a candidate for the IR list and that would really be a bummer for our DT rotation. Doesn't these injuries (especially to big lineman) take AT LEAST two-three months to recover from? At least it looks like we're getting TAKEO back! I'm still unsure why the heck we released Rashard Baker when Injury Prone Matt (BROKEN GLASS) Bowen can never stay healthy enough to see the field regardless of what team he plays for. Baker actually played really good when he was in there last year and I gotta believe he is better then Bowen.
  20. Where can I find the Bills Weekly Pick Em Contest? W
  21. Everyone I talk to, Bills fans or not...............all seem to love our throw back uniforms. All the guys in my Fantasy Football league keep cracking on our away uniforms and keep asking why we don't wear our throwbacks full time since they are so cool looking. Its obvious the throwbacks are way more popular then our regular uni's. Do you think their is a chance we can go full time to the throw backs in the near future or is that not possible due to NFL marketing merchandise or whatever? What was management thinking with those away duds?
  22. Rex Tucker (knee), Ross Verba (hamstring), and now Damien Woody (sprained left foot) all likely OUT for Bills game. I know Tucker and Verba aren't much but Woody is a really good lineman. If the Lions are going with 3 back up lineman against the Bills, I think it will be a field day for our front 4, not to mention I see us Blitzing alot with some possible LB and DB sacks as well. Great game for Bills to get back to .500. Hope to see Spikes back Sunday!
  23. It was a joke, try having a sense of humor. If you don't care about Adam Schein and his opinions on Sirius NFL Radio, no problem................don't click on the post with his name on it and don't respond. Thanks
