  1. trent plays horrible, and people can finally see when his teammates also play horrible. jp plays horrible, and jp is a cancer and everything is his fault.

trent looked awful yesterday, and it killed me seeing him sitting on the bench with that blank stare. now on top of #5 having a horrible game, you can add to the list:

    - peters

    - dockery

    - mcgee

    - hardy

    - royal

even with trent looking pretty awful, if i've gotta place blame on one person (which we love to do around here) it's sitting squarely on mcgees shoulders. no way should ginn have 170 freakin yards.

  2. I'll go along with most of that.

But I also cannot overlook the obvious, 17 points against Arizona seems putrid.

Even that isn't all Losman, the blocking in general and our supposed all pro running back didn't do much either.

But the point that I am making with Losman is, expect even less vs good defenses.

How do you like the prospect of a Losman lead offense scoring less than 14 in most games?

Because that is what scoring only 17 vs Arizona promises.

Keep in mind that there are games where you need 30+ points.

Does it occur to anyone that if Buffalo puts together some drives, Arizona doesn't score 41 points?

To me Arizona looks like one of those teams that is going score big most of the season, in the same mold as Indy and New England in recent years.

But they have a poor defense and decent offenses will certainty score more than 17 on Arizona.

in all fairness...the losman led offense suffered from huge fumbles (handoff and royal) that weren't his fault. so theres two turnovers, the royal turnover costing the team a lot of momentum after they had scored in each of the 3 previous drives.

so after all of that, if the defense kept it close...the team wouldnt have had to go into panic mode at the end of the game, in obvious passing situations where both jp and the rest of the team looked bad. most teams look pretty sh------- when they're playing from behind a rather large amount.

  3. Ok he didnt.....like i said before that "fumble" name me a couple plays were he just didnt get it done??

he can't do it. the truth is, before the rest of the team fell apart jp was very accurate. didn't air out receivers, didnt skip balls to them. gave them the ball where they had an opportunity to get YAC.

but he's so bad. i hate accurate throws, touchdown bombs, scoring drives and YAC. all you haters need to shut the hell up because jp stepped up and did his job quite well yesterday.

  4. Not to interject your little fantasy land rant with some facts, but here they are:

The Bills were down 24-17 after the 3rd quarter FG.

The defense then allowed a long TD drive by the cards, making the score 31-17.

Robert Royal fumbles (i know, i know, with trent in there, his poise would have let Royal hang onto the ball, damn JP)

The cards get a FG, making it 34-17.

JP then fumbled, and threw a pick on the next drive. So you are saying that JP's fumble when we were down by 17 and INT when we were down by 24 are what cost us the game. I call bull sh--. Check your facts. JP didn't self-destruct with turnovers until the game was already over.

i have no idea why people are so blinded by hate that they can't see the facts. this board's reaction to jp is absolutely !@#$ing ridiculous. he only looked bad when we were down by a ton, and he'd have to pull out something crazy (or a bunch of something crazy's) to win the game.

the god damn defense made 2 stops the entire game. fowler is at fault for a fumble, royal fumbled like a moron, the oc calls 3 straight runs after we're already moving the ball, jenkins lines up in the neutral zone and turns a cardinals field goal into a touchdown....but jp plays bad once the game is already out of hand and we should B word about him.

want to B word about the offense? B word about royal, because screwing up another scoring drive (which would have been 4 consecutive scoring drives if i'm not mistaken) on a routine catch completely killed any momentum that we were starting to build.

  5. Um dude, I'm not sure if you saw the game or not

    .................but.....................

JP made about 5 or 6 bad plays which translated directly into points for Arizona every single time.

Failing to check down on at least 3 or 4 plays resulting in sacks for massive losses.

The muffed handoff which resulted in a fumble.

    The fumble on his own.

The interception at the end of the game.

to play a little devils advocate...the muffed handoff was not his fault. that's on fowler for letting a freakin interior d lineman in untouched. what was jp or ml supposed to do about that?

once the game was very in hand by the cardinals, who cares if he held the ball too long? he's trying, hoping something is going to develop and we can get back in the game. in an overly obvious passing situation, the cardinals know to send the house and they know that our offensive line has sucked ass all game.

fact of the matter is, jp did a bang up job keeping us in it while the defense was giving the game away. that doesn't mean he should be starting, but it certainly doesnt mean that he didn't come in and do his job.

the robert royal fumble was horrible. the penalties were horrible. none of those jp's fault. just because he looked bad in garbage time doesn't mean he didn't give us ample opportunity to come back.

  6. trent did look pretty awesome last night. no way to take that away from him...nor should anyone want to.

but the throw to royal in triple coverage was definitely stupid. he had hardy open, and he dropped it into heavy coverage. worked out because it was a nice pass and royal made a nice catch, but trent loves to take that big chance when we don't need to. dude loves INTs at the worst possible times.

that being said...we looked like a bonified offensive threat last night. running game was solid. the oline looked solid...but the steelers d also looked pretty bad. and after one good preseason game, im not ready to say it was our stellar offense that did that to them.

  7. Are you saying that asking for 1 TD out of the starting offense in the second preseason game is asking too much?

I'm not sure if the NFL keeps stats on how many points an offense puts up under each QB, but Trent's point production so far is, in my recollection, alarmingly low. I would like to see some progress in that category.

if we can figure out how to kick a 7 point field goal...trent's production would be through the roof!

  8. Seriously??? Edwards played in one of the best conferences in coolege football at a nerd school that has never been good in football. If Trent's a loser, what does that make JP? He transfered out of that conference to go to Conference USA (one of the worst D1 cinferences) and was barely .500. Additionally, both Holcomb and Edwards proved they are better at leading the Bills to victories.

And injury prone? Who's missed multiple games in 2 of his 4 seasons with the Bills (when he wasn't benched)? I liek JP but don't make up stuff to diss TE.

lolz. what is he making up? trent's record at standford sucks...and he's been injured quite a bit throughout college and his rookie year. he didnt say trent wears a dress at night and prays to precious moments figurines before bedtime.

  9. Here's what we know between JP's career, last years preseason and now starting this year. Both Losman and Trent Edwards look pretty good against other teams' 2nd & 3rd stringers. Neither is blowing anyone away against the #1 defense though. We KNOW that JP has a tendency to get his 1 huge bomb a game and then sputter his way to drive killing mistakes (i.e. fumble, INT, sack, bounce passes, etc..) We KNOW that Trent goes out of his way to avoid costly mistakes by checking down alot. He has the occassional rope down the middle that makes you go, "Hmmmm, this guy can zip it in there with accuracy"...but he doesn't go for it often enough and turns into a FG making offense.

lets not forget trent's love for interceptions at the worst possible time and parts of the field.

neither qb has set the world on fire...so when our starting qb, who we pulled losman for because "trent's the future" goes 1-5 and looks like garbage - even for just 2 series - it's cause for concern. the season isnt over, no moves will be made yet, but its definitely not something you like to see. (like every other year) this year is supposed to be different...yet we seen scary things from our starting qb, a weak run game and weak run defense. same poop different year.

  10. If Edwards isn't good the bills aren't making the playoffs regardless, so it's a null argument. With that said. You give him the season.

What If Edwards lights it up his first couple of games?

And by *Lights it up* I mean the scoreboard.

Same answer. You give him the season and judge the broad context of games, not the moment.

wasnt this the plan last year with losman? im not even being a homer, just stating the obvious. this is a very timid coaching staff, and if things start going wrong they will scramble and do whatever they think can help them win.

You'd be guessing wrong for most of us so-called JP homers because for most of us, our problem was never about Trent, it was about how JP was managed. If Trent starts sucking, and Jauron starts dicking around with "We'll let you know who's starting by Wednesday" crap, the JP homers will likely be pissing and moaning about the way Trent is managed.

this cannot be stressed enough. people are allowed to think that in a perfect world, jp's tools will take him farther than trents. not a bad thing. not even saying he should be playing this year. just dont screw up trent like we did with jp. either way, if the offensive gameplan and play calling doesnt improve this year, trent will look like like sh-- this year like both quarterbacks did last year and all you'll everyone say is that 'its his second year...blah'. the rest of this offense has the tools to be good, and if we get some nfl caliber play calling, there is NO REASON why this offense shouldnt improve tenfold even if the coaches put some chroise under center.

Wait a minute here! If he will suck, then you need to take everything into account. My guess would be we have no running game and thus putrid blocking on pass attempts or receivers continually dropping balls.

Very rarely can you blame a loss or ineptitude on just one person in a team sport!

noooo....thats what we do here. stop using your head, pick one guy and blame him.

  11. i like parrish as much as the next guy... but lets be serious here. no way is he a #2. we need a larger, stronger body running 2 opposite evans. i have a feeling we find a possible #2 in the draft, but if not... its price. hands down.

  12. C'mon, if you like the bills you know that a 45 yarder in Dec is like a 55 yarder in a dome, lindell is accurate but hes no viniteri...

    877555[/snapback]

what a completely asinine first post. 45 yarder in december? winds not blowing (check the flags on the reply) and the weather is the type of weather we usually get in the end of september. i stopped reading after that first line... it was a bad decision not to try the kick.

but if they knew they werent going to... it was a bad decision to pass and not keep running the ball and have a 4th down play ready. either freaking way the coaches completely dropped the ball.
