  1. The last episode was pretty good. Overall a meh season and same routine evert year (rookie show, coaches dropping f bombs, players with little toddlers, rookies learning their way).  The Sopranos nod in this last episode was really well done however and cool.

I normally love Hard Knocks. Finally checked it out this week. Made it half way through the first episode before turning it off.

The good news is, it inspired me to check out The Righteous Gemstones instead since I was already in the HBO app. Masterpiece.

    Effin great show

I think you just confirmed he's poppin

THe series has been that way for a while.  When the Jets were on it the first time they showed negotiations with Revis.  They showed the Jets telling the backup QB he had to take a paycut on the phone.  They had the shake weights....it was great.  The current version of Hard Knocks is way too vanilla

I was working a few days a week in Cortland when that was happening. Was fun to see the players in town every so often.

The one episode I liked was when Tannenbaum and Revis’ agent I think met at the Roscoe Diner lol. My family would eat breakfast there all the time on our way to Shea.

Nothing against you I know what you are saying. It’s basically the same Capital region close enough. I get it it’s a Capital region thing. Bob is from Saratoga and Joe is from Albany blah, blah like it matters irrelevant they are all from Albany region. As a Buffalonian I call Orchard Park, Amherst, Niagara Falls and Southern Tier St Bonaventure, Allegany, Olean all Buffalo/Western New York region basically Buffalo. But I get the Capital Region and there individual thing that also helps explains the sports failure there is no hometown everyone rowing the boat so the sports team fails type of thing.

Not 20 but close enough what a disgrace. Again Albany isn’t a sports town. Why do I say that. I don’t say it to be mean or cruel it’s reality. I came to that conclusion not just because of the number of teams in a 30 to 40 years time frame it’s because they have had success yet still moved or folded in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

You can technically add the CDI (Capital District Islanders) of the AHL on their list of failures who played at RPI in the 90's as well. Only lasted a few years and then were sold to another Albany resident and moved to play in "The Knick" as I still catch myself calling it.

nope that was the game at Tennessee.

Bills vs Chiefs was a regular old MNF game.

Thanks! I know there was a Tuesday game that year. Just couldn’t recall the opponent. However I try to block that Covid year out of memory ad much as possible

They never get the credit but it has perfect weather but San Diego has a terrible sports history. Have they ever had a title? They also had 2 pro sports teams leave. This is actually a pretty big moment for them.

Their fans were booing the Padres over the weekend because the Rockies took a series from them. Tells you all you need to know how desperate they are for a title.

I'm sure many of you know this but do you know who the all time assist leader is for SDSU hoops?

None other than Tony Gwynn! Who I think was drafted by the SD Clippers in 81.

  6. Absolutely LOVE IT!

Been watching since the early 80's. This is great. As someone who goes to several minor league games in Binghamton every summer, it was one of the best parts of going to those games...seeing how quick the pace as and no bulls*it between pitches. Players got used to it and adapted quick. If you noticed when a minor league pitcher got called up he worked quickly.

Spring Training games will get most of the kinks out and players will adapt.

Ted McGinley’s character is friggin hilarious!  😂

I have Dear Edward on my list.  Has great reviews, and the story looks intriguing.  The wife and I watched E1 of Poker Face on Peacock last night and it was pretty interesting.  It’s hard to keep up with all these shows!

Was watching with the gf and we both grew up on Married With Children and she was like "Holy sh*t" is that Jefferson???" I was like....I think so!! haha. Had to look it up and confirm.

    Dear Edward is fantastic.

I've to to say that while Apple does not pump out the content at the rate the others do, their shows to me are some of the best in the streaming biz.

Watched the first 4 episodes of Shrinking on Apple TV this week, and I’ve enjoyed it.  I guess it’s a drama/comedy about a psychiatrist (Jason Segel) whose wife has passed and he starts to resort to “unorthodox” methods with his clients.

Harrison Ford also co-stars and plays and interesting role as colleague/mentor.  Good stuff so far.

I am really enjoying this series too.  And holy smoked a Ted McGinley sighting too in this series.

I stumbled upon 'Dear Edward' on Apple+ after I caught myself up with Shrinking. Highly recommend!!!!

Rosen was very strong both offensively and defensively.  Maybe he wasn’t flashy but his career WAR says HOF.  Nolan Arenado is a current player that will have his HOF detractors in a similar way.

Do you mean MSG Networks Al Rosen? Heheh I kid I kid I knew what you meant.

WAR should not be the be-all-end-all of anyone’s case but it’s a good conversation starter.

Rolen had 70.1 rWAR and 69.9 fWAR. He was inevitably gonna make it given trend of newer voters favoring sabermetrics and traditional voters dying off. Not a lot of hardware but most agree he’s one of the best defenders at his position and he had an excellent bat. 2,000 hits, 500 doubles, 300 HRs with a gold glove. Rolen was never flashy but he was definitely elite.

With that being said the HOF gained another Hal Baines type entrant in Rolen (I do believe Rolen is absolutely better than Baines and more worthy) but still not a HOF’er.

He was really good and close I’d say but he never led the league in anything. One top ten MVP finish. Very good prime but he falls short to me. Complete baseball player but definitely not what should be a Hall of Fame caliber player.

Really wanted to see the Lions in the playoffs, but I still think they'll play hard for Dan Campbell.

Seriously, I don't think I've ever respected another team's coach as much as I do Campbell. Feels like the admiration & respect I have for Zelensky as a foreign leader, only you know... way less serious 😅

When they announced the Hard Knocks team last Spring I thought it would be a dud of a season. Nope…one of the best ones in recent memory in fact.
