  1. Brandon Beane is an NFL GM with a team of scouts at his disposal and an entire coaching staff to provide feedback.  I watch games on my couch and read message boards.

Beane clearly didn't want Worthy or Legette, so who am I to question that decision, especially given concerns raised about both players, especially Worthy.  There is obviously someone out there that Beane wants and now he has a materially better position in the middle part of the draft.  He deserves the benefit of the doubt, at least for now.

The only number that matters is the score at the end. There are 53 guys that contribute to that. Since you asked here is the oh so important 2023 receiving stats.
    Diggs  107rec  1183yds  8td

    Davis    45rec   746yds  7td

    Kincaid  73rec   673yds  2td

    Shakir    39rec   611yds   2td

    Cook      44rec   445yds  4td

Pick and choose games all you want. The fact is the Bills are weaker on the fire power end of things without Diggs.

The Bills are going to get blown out this Sunday.

If they have to sign a #1 WR in 2025 that means Beane failed miserably at his job in 2024.

Good point.  You're exactly right and I actually made the same point yesterday.  If Beane hits on a WR in the draft it completely changes the future of the franchise by getting younger and cheaper at a key position (and less drama) to complement other promising pass catchers in Kincaid and Shakir.

No. He will go sign in Dallas as his brother wanted when Cee Dee Lamb leaves in UFA to come play with Allen instead of Dak. 😎

If we wind up using the cap savings from Diggs to sign Cee Dee Lamb I would support adding Beane to the Ring of Fame the very next day.

  5. Ok, so I've been trying to process this all day and I'm starting to like this trade more and more.  At the end of the day Beane is taking a huge gamble, which either results in him revitalizing the team or costing us next season.  It's a virtual lock that he goes WR in round 1, no lower than 28 and hopefully higher.  If he hits on that pick, we're suddenly younger and cheaper at a key position, and without all of the drama that Diggs brings.  With Diggs gone an athletic receiver also should help Shakir and Kincaid take it to the next level, and both of them can replace 14 as great route runners on third down plays.  And on top of that we get a boatload of cap space next year.  If that happens the window is as wide open as ever.  Obviously the flip side is that Beane's pick is a bust, in which case it could be a long year, but the reward is worth that risk.

Sorry for asking but do we want the Ravens to win or lose tonight?

I love this scenario.  Win or bust.

Perfect one game referendum on McDermott.

    Win he should stay.

Lose and no playoffs he should go!

Okay, Allen. Please let’s not miss WIDE OPEN WRs.

You know what, now is a good time to spill the beans on what I was told earlier this year - In the home Patriots game, Diggs chose to sit out the first drive of the 2nd half because he was upset with Allen's play in the 1st half. It wasn't an injury or part of the game plan. He decided to screw over his team and sit out a drive because he couldn't get over himself.

I suspect other stories like this will come out in the coming days. A couple aren't mine to tell. Guy was a total headcase and a major distraction in more ways than one.

Make you wonder if Houston was a bit star struck when they agreed to the trade.  I'm not sure I'd put a promising young rookie QB in this situation.

  7. No surprises.  Not having Bernard and Benford sucks, but I really never expected either of them to play.  When Bernard got carted off my mind immediately started doing the math to see how much time he'd miss next season.  The fact that it was a game time decision is remarkable.

100% agree.  Whaley may have been handling the phone calls but it's very clear McDermott was running the Draft.   Pretty sure McDermott only came here if Whaley was on his way out.

Yep.  Teams typically don't fire people with knowledge of their draft board until after the draft is over.  Whaley was just holding the seat warm by that point.

  9. No offense, but this is an absurd suggestion.  If the Bills need a punter it's not going to be a guy who has never had punted in a regular season game.
