  1. Yes, I typed EL MANUEL, not EJ MANUEL.

About a month ago I received an e-mail with this typo from WGR550.

Got to thinking the kid needs a nickname.

EL MANUEL, reminds me of the movie EL MARIACHI.

Great movie about A GUN SLINGER.

The word pwned also spawned in this manner.

Comments, cheers, Boos, Opinions whateva, Tomorrow is opening day and I can't wait.

  2. I admit, I am a Bill from NYC junkie. Win or Lose, I am waiting for his take. A few weeks back when it was delayed I was all pissed off.

As a side note Bill, I have been watching a series on Discovery called Moonshiners. These guys use propane to fire the still, but every time I watch the show it reminds me of the first random Grateful Dead Lyric you posted:

Daddy made whiskey and he made it well, Cost two dollars and it burned like hell.

I cut hickory just to fire the still, Drink down a bottle and you're ready to kill.

Hope you are well fellow friend of the Devil.

  3. Here we go, the flood gates have opened for the Mario posts.

I will actually provide a serious answer. No

Williams was given a ridiculous amount of guaranteed money. For the Bills to cut him in the next 3 years or more would be completely insane financially, and will not happen. We have basically already paid him, nothing to save by cutting him. The only way they could dump him in the short term would be a trade, which would be very difficult and we would still lose big time financially.

The guy has played 7 games with an injury, and even with all this hype he has still outproduced the Bills equivalent position on this team last year. Overreaction is the word of the day.

IRONY at its finest: Overreaction is the word of the day.

  4. Pro football is the only sport I watch. I drink the Kool Aid that is served up each year, hoping we go from bad to good, but you know the story.

As such, I usually pick a team that normally isn't very good that starts to make a run. It makes the season not as bad and I have someone to root for down the stretch.

One day boys, our ship will come in !

  5. On the positive side, I wish the man luck, I liked his story, how he got into the NFL, made a team, became a starter and had some quality play.

He wanted more than was offered and got it, albeit as the result of an injury.

On the negitive side, The name change, Seriously? Is that like you are a fortress ? Demetress ?

Did he somehow pull a Franz Kafka and metamorphize into a player that doesn't get beat or hurt ?

His new name should have been Gotbeatrius or Injurius Bell.

Ticks me off that he went to Philly, and is subbing for that Judas, Peters.

I don't wish bad luck on anyone but it seems like Peters finally got his.

  6. Merriman is at best a question mark.

Great upside if he recovers, but few with an achilles type injury ever regain their prior form.

I know he can be cut and save the cap room, but I really thought that the Bills should have cut him

and signed Wimbley. I am not 100% sure on the #'s but the contract Wimbley got from the Titans seemed

somewhat similiar albeit longer than Merriman's deal. Wimbley was/is at least 100% healthy and going to be better than a mended Merriman.

  7. you would be correct.

He sat out 4 games in 2006 for the "failed test", went on to record 17 sacks that season still. In 2007 he had 12.5 sacks.

The pessimists will say the steriods had a lingering effect on his body. I wasn't aware steriods stayed in your system for months and months.

It depends on the substance and its ester.

In general, there is no comparison to the strength and recovery of a person that is using and is natural.

HGH on the other hand is not detectable in blood tests, at least not yet.
