  1. I listen to the 93.3 all sports morning show they all said it was a clean hit just unfortunate

Same here. 92.3 The Fan was saying the same thing. The Ohio Media Twitter feeds I follow didn't really say anything negative about Kiko or the hit - the only ones I saw attacking Kiko were random fans, but to be fair I usually unfollow idiots pretty fast, so some obnoxious media types could have been venting at the Bills and I wouldn't have seen it.

  2. I have no problem extending my war chant through Saturday night into Sunday! :worthy: <-- closest they had. They probably won't hear me down in Maryland though...

FSU's had a pretty incredible run of turning out NFL players, and they are on the rebound after a couple of down years. Unlike state rivals FU ( I mean UF) and Miami for whatever reason FSU hasn't been turning out a bunch of felons.

We also have the hottest women.

On the downside, for those of you too young or unaware, FSU also shares the tragedy of a season-killing "Wide right!" that happened in the same calendar year as that other unmentionable.

The good news is, FSU finally turned it around and won the National Championship.

Bottom line: They do bring good karma.

    Go Noles!

  3. Flutie fans cheered when Johnson got injured. At my Bills Backers club, the Bills were playing Miami and some middle-aged woman with her blue #7 on stood up repeatedly and yelled "Hit him in the head!" when Johnson was on the field. Later he was injured and she cheered like crazy.

I remember the same thing happening when I was watching a game at a bar in Tallahassee - Flutie fans cheering every hit on Johnson. My wife and I walked out at halftime, disgusted.

  4. I can understand the argument of "why do it for 4 weeks". It doesn't really bother me per se, but it is a little bit of overkill on one issue in a country with so many other problems, both health related and other.

I have no problem with the breast cancer awareness month and the pink stuff. (Although some do - see pinkwashing.)

I would like to see prostate cancer awareness get some play from the NFL with some of the powder blue stuff. MLB does that on Father's Day and it wouldn't hurt to help raise some awareness and funding for prostate cancer research. Prostate cancer is just as serious for men and breast cancer is for women, but way behind in research and funding.

  5. The trick plays thing was what frustrated me. While I don't mind a trick play here and there, I hate gimmicky offenses like what Clemson was running.

The reporter for the Tallahassee Democrat made an interesting obersvation - how many plays did Clemson actually just send Watkins out into a pattern versus all the pre-snap decoy stuff and throwing and all that? Watkins is so tough to cover, I'd send him out and take my chances with mismatches - either the opponent trying to cover him one-on-one him, or double-covering him and leaving Hopkins or Elllington in single coverage.

EJ was phenomenal. I kept waiting for the big mistake, the INT, or the miss blitz read, but he was outstanding. Really, really impressed with his play.

  6. I think the minor league teams in all sports seem to make the game day experience more about things other then the game because they feel that the fans want more to attract them to the games because they aren't the Major leagues.

No doubt, but the promotions and games and whatnot have to support the game, not overwhelm it. It's a tough line to walk sometimes.

Going through the article, I see a lot that Harrington nailed. The bathrooms need updating. The concourse is too dark. The seating areas are too dark. The seats and roof look weathered and in need of replacement or at the very least, repainting. Throughout the stadium there isn't much in the way of signage that celebrates the current or past teams.

  7. Giveaways! Or some type of gigantic version of a Hotdog or local food? No one goes to minor league baseball to watch the actual game.......

I think there may be an increase in attendance with Canadian Jays fans in niagara coming over to watch the future jays (winning does help though)

I know both myself and another guy I work with are both jays fans and have said we would now try to attend some games, even my fiancee whose a Jays fan has said she would want to go to games now too

Check out Mike Harrington's column on what he's noticed around Pilot Field/Dunn Tire Stadium/Coca-Cola Field over the last couple years.

  8. Well now that the hoopla is over & Mario W is a Buffalo Bill , one thing i never thought of was the number 90 ??

That has been Kelsays number since he has been a Bill right ? And he is a veteran of the team . I know the fans myself being one of them would have Kelsay give Williams his number that he has worn since he was drafted .

But will Chris Kelsay feel the same ??

Or was there a number that Mario had while in college that he couldn't get when drafted by the Texans that may now be open that he is with the Bills ??

Or the possibility that they just flat out cut Kelsay if they draft say Coples in the first round which would be some money saved & staying with the theme of getting younger , then there would be no trouble with Mario getting his number that he had in Texas ..

Just wondering what you all might be thinking about this if you haven't thought about it until now . I know i didn't until i saw a clip on NFL 32 that showed Kelsay & that started the thought behind the number or player changes !!!

It's all yours Bills fans .. GO BILLS !!!!!

He wore #9 at NC State.

  9. I feel like mccoy is homlgren's guy and will go for getting colt more help than replacing him.

This. It's also hard to get a read on McCoy - his line has been banged up this year, the running game has been streaky/spotty at best, and the WRs have been a disappointment at best - lots of drops and just not a lot of talent there.

I also think Shurmur is in over his head as HC and OC, and it shows, especially as a first-year head coach.

  10. How far away is your office from your home? If a hurricane hit, would you lose both? If an earthquake rumbled through, would you lose both? You also have a risk because you "only" sync up to the office once a month; you could potentially lose data between hard drive swaps.

That's why I love the automated backups, and they don't cost much more than a hard drive. For $150, I have protection if the entire state of Minnesota goes up in flames (although hopefully I won't actually be in the state at that time! ;) ) for the next four years.

This is why I went with an online backup.

  11. whenever Valerie Bertenelli is involved, Man Cards will NEVER be revoked...NEVER!!!

    No, he's from Toronto.

Valerie Bertinelli is one of the cutest things ever.

Pooj, I WANT to like the show, they've got Barbie from 1 day at a time and Sue Ann from MTM Show and Wendie Mallick (sp?) and Jane Leeves who are all very good actresses; but unfortunately they spent all their money on cast and have interns writing the scripts.

I don't care how good the actors/actresses are, if the lines are crap there's not much they can do to fix them.

    +1 to all of these.

  12. I think his biggest flaw is that he doesn't run with any authority. He seems tentative to the hole and, as I said last week, seems like he doesn't want to engage.

I will give him credit for being more patient lately. It's a start.

    GO BILLS!!!

This was my thought as well.

  13. Mine came in a fathead box wrapped in clear plastic. There was a UPC code on the botton that said D. Ortiz, and then on the top and side, a graphic showing the Ortiz fathead and said "David Ortiz." Sure enough, when i opened it, it was a david ortiz.

Same here. I didn't open it completely, though.
