To all the people saying they said it earlier, thats great I probably read what you said earlier too, but what were you basing it by? Your own opinion our somebody in the Bills organisation? I'm just stating that this is what the GM of the team said during a radio show this morning. I'll take that as fact over "the pats lost so we are not out yet, Holcomb is starting"
-
Don't know how many people caught TD on Shred and Ragan this morning on 103.3. I heard a few minutes of him this morning on my way to work and he said Holcomb will be the starter cause they still have a chance at the playoffs and he has played well. He says the desicions are up to MM but KH will start this week.
Looking at our upcoming schedule and looking at NE's upcoming schedule, I don't see how it is possible that we get by them unless NE completly implodes and we get a few breaks along the way.
He also said they have been looking into getting some long balls to Evans and Parrish, although I don't know how with Holcombs arm, but then I don't know their definition of what is long (maybe 10 yards)
All I know is that it is going to be a long 8 weeks

I'd hate to see him go to Miami, its alot more fun to watch them continue to struggle with their amazing QB pickups!
-
Well that sucks for Holmes, he was an awesome RB
But this news would be great for the Bills if True

I still would have like to see an offense with McGahee and Henry both lined up in the backfield. Keep the defences guessing as to who it goes to, if only Travis could have been more of a team player and do what is best for the team.
Now he gets to be the next Peerless Price, another Bills player who thinks he is the best and leaves just to become another average player.

If they don't have any intentions of going to the playoffs, why are they even playing Holcomb then?
I am not complaining about just the QB, cause they both have struggled, but alot of it was because of the team around them. Do you think if Moulds would have given 100% in all of Losmans games and maybe helped him out a bit rather than complaining to the media that Holcomb should be in we might have won a couple more games. And sure it would help if our defence played like they did last year, I think this was the biggest surprise for me this year cause I thought they would be just as good. The Bills should have built a better O-line cause a rookie QB usually needs a bit more time to complete a throw while adjusting to the NFL, but if we did that, why bother getting rid of Bledsoe? With a solid O-Line he would have been a much better QB than he was his past couple years in Buffalo

Exactly, We are in pretty much the same situation we were in with Losman. Won the easy games, and lost the ones that were more challenging.
The only difference is one QB is a young, developping rookie (well pretty much a rookie) while the other is an aging journeyman Veteran who should be doing much better with all his experience.
Holcomb also had the advantage of having his veteran teamates decide it was time they start playing cause "They want to win now".

I have no problem trashing our season--this team isn't going anywhere this year anyway, and should be thinking about what's best for next year. Obviously a seasoned vet like Holcomb is going to be better than a first-year starter like Losman, at least in the short term. The Bills should start whichever QB they believe has the potential to be the better answer in the long term.
By starting Holcomb, you get to see whether he can sustain his high QB rating over the course of an entire season. By starting Losman, you can see whether whatever success he may be having in practice will carry over into games. Of course, if Losman does a lousy job in practice, it's an easy decision. Give the game snaps to Holcomb, because you already know Losman isn't ready.
I completly agree that they should start whatever quarterback is better for them in the long term, and I doubt thet it is a 9 year veteran.
But I have to say that starting Holcomb to see if his high QB rating can stay that high for the rest of the year is a dumb idea. Who cares about a stupid QB rating? thats all I hear people say about Holcomb is how high of a QB rating he has. Does a rating win games? No. I bet there are many QB's in the league that have a lower rating and have more wins this year than Holcomb.

What has Holcomb done to show that he is so much better. He beat the Jets and Dolphins (Barely).

Way to early in his carrer to call him a bust. The guy has talent, he just has to learn to bring his game into the NFL. The problem is everyone now looks at what happened last year with Ben in Pittsburgh and use that as the new measuring stick as to how to judge a quarterback. That is unfair to any player to judge them like that, JP is technically a rookie still after missing most of last year. In time he will become a good starting quarterback, maybe not a HOF great, but a solid quarterback.
Hopefully he is learning something on the bench and will come in ready to play when they are done with the holcomb experiment.
Don't go putting him in the same category as Ryan Leaf after only 4 games.

If you keep reading what I said, I mentioned about how bad it must be that your backup is that bad that McNabb playing at less then 100% is better than the backup.
I just think they are taking a huge risk with McNabb getting hurt even worse and being out longer than if he were to get the problem fixed now.
-
I somewhat agree with T.O, I think McNabb is hurting the team by not being 100%. But is their Backup really that bad that they would rather have a hurting McNabb (who I have found to be overrated and never thought was as great as they say, same as Vick) then a healthy QB?
It is prety bad when your are probably one of the best receivers in the game today (both T.O. and Moss) and when you announce you want to be traded, only 1-2 teams are interested in you!

I can't find the link anymore from msn, but I doubt we'll see JP at all if the veterans have it their way. There was an article up that was talking about how all the veterans think Holcomb should still be the starter.
It makes you wonder who really runs the team, and it can't help JP having teammates who don't want you starting.
I say put JP in, I would have liked to see him in the Patriots game. With such a depleted secondary and the fact he can go deep, I think we could have had just about as much of a chance as we did with Holcomb in. The saints don't have a very good pass defence so if your game plan is throw deep and RUN Willis ALL DAY, then we may have a chance.

This could be true (except for the dolphins winning, I really doubt that is gonna happen) but I'm looking at the fact that the Bills are going into one of the hardest schedules for their remaining 8 games and NE has one of the easier schedules for the remaining games. The Bills have not shown we can beat the harder teams so why is that gonna change now.
I think that if Buffalo had beaten the Pats on Sunday night we would be looking at something completly different. I think that was the difference maker this season.
