Being from Buffalo originally, and in my estimation 75% of the folks in buffalo and this board have left wing liberal political ideology, I have but one thing to say. You deserve exactly what you get. A Poor economy, lousy and overpaid education systems, unions that are overpaid and under worked, huge taxes, poor service, and a stagnate economic development effort. Buffalo has always been a democratic bastion and look what it has done for the past 50 years. Nothing.
So keep on electing those great democratic senators and local leaders you have and see more people leave in the future. I love coming to WNY for a visit and make a few games a year at the Ralf and I never see any progress. No new buildings, no development, just the same old city. Anyone from Buffalo traveling the country will see mass development all around with real economic growth. Buffalo - zippo.
It's really ashamed Buffalo has become what it is, but you have no one to blame but yourselves by continually electing democrats that keep taxes high, pursue poor economic development reforms, and are under union control and influence.
So you can continue to feel sorry for yourselves and blame the President and the republicans for all your woes, but just look in the mirror because that’s where the problem lies.
Keith Olbermann is tool and will be another disaster as he's always been.
leave the region aside...
if you think "compassionate-conservative-moralistically-correct-republican-party" has heighten ANY aspect of America in the past 8 years...I'm talking economic, worldwide leadership, religious, immigration, social security...ANYTHING AT ALL....then you need some serious sit in the corner time.
I would suggest that they have come close to destroying this country. This administration has been horrid. And I don;t care if the Patriot Act has given the legal right to access your server to know my name and address.

I have been a Patrick Willis guy all along, but now suddenly with this trade I am turning back into an Okoye guy if he is there:
1 (12) - Amobi Okoye, DT Louisville
2 (43) - Michael Bush, RB Louisville
2 (61) - Daymeion Hughes, CB, California - he runs a slow 40 and is dropping, but perfect for cover 2. I think he can be had at the end of the 2nd
3 (74) - Quincy Black, OLB New Mexico - fast, high character OLB
4 (107) - Zak DeOssie, ILB, Brown - this is probably the one player I am day dreaming on
6 (169) - Le'Ron McClain, FB Alabama
7 (203) - Take your pick looking for a TE, backup SS, another CB or possibly a WR
This is a draft full of high character, high intangible players that fit our schemes and are all "Bills" (unlike McGahee, who never really was one)
If this is doable.....an INCREDIBLE draft. I really like Michael Bush and think this could be a bruising RB for us for many years. Okoye speaks for himself (and Marv LOVES this kid).
-
That was Todd Collins, not Hobert.
I don't think so....
It was Billie Joe Gunrack.
-
Definately, anyone who has trouble understanding marvs moves should read his book. Since reading it it has made me see these things much more clearly. Plus, its a good read.
There's a reason why the players of that team look upon him a father figure. There's a loyalty. THAT's what he is trying to rebuild.
McGahee does not fit this new team. And, I disagree about the playoffs...the Bills can pick up a adequate back and with a solid OLine can be very competitive and playoff capable.
-
While I agree that he probably is not in the team's long-term plans, if we can't get decent compensation for him, I see no reason why he won't play out his string in 2007.
Marv will release him first.....but, he will settle for 'something/anything' by way of draft picks in lieu of...
Read his book, Marv is all about accountability.
-
Didn't think about this until today, but, back on the 90's when Hobert admitted to not being prepared to go into the game because he had not studied the game plan for the week, Marv quickly exited him from the team.
I think Marv's prespective is the same here. If you aren't showing up committed to winning, you don't play for the Bills. Doesn;t matter whether you are a starter or a benchwarmer....that is demanded and expected from a Professional.
There is no way that Marv can set that expectation and make exceptions.
Face it folks...whether you like him or not....he will not play for the Bills again.

Frank Gore has been in the league 2 years.
I know....I was responding more to the Portis side. Actually Gore could be a fit.....
-
If Dockery is signed to a 7 year $49M deal, with $23M guaranteed and no bonus identified.....
what does that mean to the annual value against the Cap?
-
You'd take Drew and Jones over Portis or Gore?
purely from a age issue
-
Maurice Jones-Drew (2)
Frank Gore (3)
Tatum Bell (2)
Julius Jones (2)
Clinton Portis (2)
Brian Westbrook (2)
Travis Henry (2)
I think there is some pretty good talent established after the first round at this position, so I'm not too interested in a #1 pick to RB unless the right guy is there. Between RB/LB/CB/DT I think we can take the best guy available. Willis is still on the team, and if he doesn't get moved we aren't going to pick that high. I might be crazy, but I wouldn't mind Henry pulling a Peerless Price and coming back if Willis is moved, but I see Willis having a big 2007 and us worrying about our next running back next off season.
that another interesting situation.....if you could take any of the above RB's for your team...who would you pick?
I think I would go with Jones-Drew....but Julius Jones would be tempting as well.
-
I feel pretty strongly that they're going to draft Lynch now. These signings are clearly aimed at improving their running game and to that end, I think they'll also go out and get an elite runner to compliment those signings.
I agree...it's all about establishing a dominant running game. Which is GREAT to see. But, I agree with the Michael Bush scenario. I think Marv is looking for his next Thurman.
BTW......5 years from now, can you imaging Willis McGahee sitting around regretting the fact that he just couldn't get it together enough to be the RB for this team?
-
I know it won;t happen.....
but could you imagine Adrian Peterson behind this line for the next 4 years?
-
Cato June is starting to look like a strong possibility
-
I was thinking that.....would you rather have Walker or Fletcher?
In the end, I think Marv see's the OLine as being THE key. And now, he has a OLine that is young and will be together for at least 4 years. I think the bigger concern now is extending Losman and Evans.
-
here's the problem I have with that....
- you have just officially blown a 1st round choice from 3 years ago
- you have given up the opp to upgrade another need position
now, I don;t think Willis fits with the new approach. But there has to be another way to get the RB we need (Travis Henry for 1-2 years?) while taking advantage of the talent of this draft.....like Amobi Okoye....
-
I absolutely agree with this. The 90's unis are what we should go back to....
-
I don;t know, but I love the work you did with Paul Simon
-
why do we have to do anything?
Willis plays next year and is forced to have a great year as he will be going into a RFA year the next year. Then we tag him.
Buffalo holds all of the cards in this one.

...except that this country was supposed to stand for something a little more, right?
I've always suspected that people tend to use statements like "STFU" generally get frustrated having exchanges such as these..
Aside from that, being a citizen, I do respect that you have the right for whatever opinion that you may have, and I would in fact support that with my life. I feel as though that is what makes our country special, unique and right.
I fear that respect is not returned....and that is wrong.

I think the man has earned the right to speak.
Regardless of other people --- who don't serve --- castigating Mr. Tillman for making an assessment of what has occurred in the admin. And combining it with what I hear from returning soldiers I meet, it doesn't speak highly of the trust of our troops in our elected officials.
Woe is anyone who crosses the FREEDOM® smear machine. Their arguments can't possibly be rational! The thought of holding people accountable so this doesn't happen again is treasonous! They must be speaking out of grief and viseral hatred!
I've been trying to think of something profound to say...I think Kevin Tillman has covered it.
Personally, I'm sick of being lied to and having information 'managed' through the media to me while sacrificing my freedoms (and don;t even try to tell me it's becuase of 9/11).

Just noticed this when parousing the stats on NFL.com
I'd have to say he's making a fine transition into the #1 WR on B-flo.
Rank Player Team Rec Yds Avg TDs Long
1 Roy Williams DET 36 552 15.3 2 42
2 Laveranues Coles NYJ 38 537 14.1 3 58
3 Torry Holt STL 37 526 14.2 7 67
4 Andre Johnson HOU 39 485 12.4 2 53
5 Steve Smith CAR 31 450 14.5 2 72
6 Marvin Harrison IND 32 442 13.8 1 38
7 Lee Evans BUF 36 419 11.6 1 27
8 Keyshawn Johnson CAR 32 419 13.1 2 40
9 Santana Moss WAS 25 415 16.6 3 68
10 Antonio Bryant SF 21 415 19.8 1 72
Congrats Lee!!
Of course he'd probably be a bit higher if the old secondary hadn't given up 9000 yards to Roy Williams on Sunday.
Imagine what he would do with a solid #2 drawing some attention. I think Lee Evans is a player the Bills need to wrap up with a extension asap.

5 players the Bills had to account for this year will be gone next...
Mike Williams
Moulds
Milloy
Vincent
Clements
and they account for $22.8M or 22% of the payroll.
I figure that reallocating that money to new talent will be the priority.

I was at that game.....it was in the Aud and it was Havlichek inbounding....
Playoff game - Braves vs Celtics - series 3-2 celts 1:50 remaining. Braves down 10. Big Mac scores down 8, Smith steals and scores down 6. Celts miss braves score and are fouled down 3. Another score down 1.Celtics bringing ball in from side. McAdoo swoops in steals and scores. Totally awesome Braves by "one" 3 seconds left Jo jo white shot goes up rejected by McAdoo right back at Jo Jo, buzzer goes off as Jo -jo goes up to shoot again. Braves win to force game 7. Not. Referee rules ball was in the air before buzzer, shot goes in, we lose. Replays showed he never got the ball up until the buzzer and shot clock both showed no time. 1975 or 1976.
We were getting screwed even back then.
-
THAT brings back memories....
I remember going to the Aud to see Braves/Celtics playoff games when I was young. Even after all of this time, it's still a shame that they moved that team out of here.
Gar Heard, Ernie D, Randy Smith, McAdoo, McMillen, Charles, Sven Nater (named his daugher Carmen Denoma...true....as in Common Denominater).
Moses Malone was a Brave for 1 game
Buffalo loved that team...
So The AP Reports Ralph Wilson

Losman was taken after Cutler....
