  1. 90% of the time when Byrd is spoken about on TV, he's called "Jarius". Just heard it twice on ESPN.

Why is a two-syllable word so difficult to pronounce? Are there a bunch of people named Jarius that I've never heard of, where this should be a common mistake?

The easy way to remember this is JAIrus because when he was drafted he took an attitude toward practice much like Allen Iverson. He did not show up at mini-camp and used school as an excuse. Then he twisted his ankle or something else in a long line of BS all desingned to get out of practice.

  2. Dont tell me what my point was because you can't read. My post was completely in the context of prolonged campaigns.

He just probably misunderstood your Farsi. That happened to me.

Can you help me translate the attached link?

I think Mahmoud has a man crush on Bibi but am probably just misinterpreting again.

  3. Doug Flutie

So I could not have to hear any more excuses for what would have happened in that playoff game. He would get smashed to bits in 30 seconds and when he did get a pass off, he would hit himself in the foot instead of hitting Sam Gash in the foot.

We would then get the first pick in the draft and I'd take 53 Rob Johnson's and then I wouldn't have to hear any more about him. He'd all be on the IR by week 3 of the preseason and we would go out and pick up 53 versions of a scrub.

The next year I would take someone versatile enough to have speed strength and savvy. I'm thinking Ronnie Lott. If it had to be a current day player I might go with Donte Whitner.

  4. I know there have been similar threads before, but I'm in need of some new music. Specifically ones that resonated with you while you were in high school. I always listen to music while I work and usually cater the playlist around whatever I'm writing about. In this case, I need some High School mojo asap.

Figured there are enough music junkies on Off The Wall with good suggestions! Might make a fun thread if you give a bit of a reason why your particular song will always be associated with High School in your mind.

I didn't listen to music in High school because I was too busy planning my business so I could make $$$$$$.

I asked Sage which song reminds him most of High School. He said this:

    I don't get it.

  5. MODERATED Q&A sessions here with Bills-associated people (I'd bet any player who twitters would entertain the idea)...if your question is chosen, you get some dinky little prize like a Bills keychain, and submitted to a drawing for a bigger prize. Timing to be figured out by yourselves (e.g. weekly Q&A, monthly drawing).

Have 716 sponsor it, you get to generate original content for TBD...

I like this idea the best so far but if you can't pull it off.....

Predict the Bills "extended scoring" each week.

    It works like this:

Take the points and multiply them by the scorer's uniform number. A TD to SJ is worth 6*13 = 78 + the Lindell EP 1*9 = 9; 78+9= 87

A field goal by Lindell is worth 27 and so on.

Total all scores and you get the week's total "extended score"

Closest to the total each week wins. If two people submit the same entry the first submission wins.

  6. Nice read - http://www.epi.org/b...s-belie-claims/

If regulation is so overbearing on businesses, why are they investing more in this recovery compared to the past?

The article also goes on to talk about the growth of the private sector in this recovery and how it is very comparable or even better than the numbers from the early 90's and 2000's. The difference of course is the shrinking of the public sector.

    Lawrence Mishel = bearded commie

  7. Join me Gungy. Join the liberal PPP brigade. But to do so, you must calm yourself. Go into the energy thread and read the debate and join opposing Romney's backwards energy policy. Join the debate on writing down mortgage interest. Make a thread about how he's the golden boy of economics but his policies (vague as they may be) are indistinguishable from standard GOP dogma. Hell make a general thread on how he stands for nothing. And yes, it is acceptable to post in opposition if someone claims that he is more self made than Obama...but remain calm in your dealings with the right here. Remember you will never change anybody's mind here on the candidate but you can have discussion on some issues and learn more about why Romney supporters believe in certain policies...you can even find areas where you can convince them there is valid argument for the other side (though you won't change their mind overall and your mind won't be changed).

In general just represent opposition to Romney policy well. They all think we're idiots and love to bash all policy not in line with right wing dogma...but show them it isn't true. And you can also find out there are some issues where they aren't evil or completely retarded either (wind tax credits not going to be one of them) but the point is...don't allow yourself to be fuel for the "liberal idiot" fire they love to see. Join me my gungified brother, walk with me to the promise land of PPP as we reign fire upon the heathen Rush Limbaugh minions and take our rightful seat at the throne of wisdom and leadership and all things wise in this world.

You act all leader like but leaders have guts. You don't even have enough guts to comment in the Sarah Palin thread?

  8. You should put your new title under your avatar. Smiting tgregg sent a message, but that will be short lived. Just ask God. He was burning mother!@#$ers alive and people were still !@#$ing with Moses.

You're forgetting that I often speak with the big man via GvG. I asked and I'm not worried. You'll be hearing from the Googlebot soon.

    I think I just did.

    I don't get it.

Oh, wait. I think I do get it.

  9. I looked and will give myself 1.5 out of 3. Score:

Bearded commie: 0% although he is listed as "historian" which these days usually means commie. Still I will go with 0% because no beard.

    Uber Dork: 100%

young dude with weird glasses: 50%; not young but you can tell he had lasik and used to wear weird glasses just by looking at him.

Update: I am now scoring 99% on bearded commie. If you Google him you find a 30 minute interview about gettng off of fossil fuels. He ran for Senate where he ran on a platform of getting off fossil fuels. No beard so I can't give myself 100%. The only two reasons I can think of for no beard are:

    inability to actually grow one

    or

still loves the uber dork haircut so much and a beard would detract from it.

  10. Three guesses without looking.....Lichtman is either a:

    Bearded commie

    Uber Dork

or young dude with weird lookiing glasses.....possibly all 3 or 2 of three.

    Now I'll look.
