  1. Langston was not cut because he couldn't play LT. He was cut because there is someone else on the team that they believe can play the position better, and they're not going to have a $5 million dollar player eating oreos on the bench. People equate Langston being cut with the fact that he can't play LT.

  2. HAHAHA! This is THE MOST retarded thing I have EVER heard or seen in my life!

You are gonna sit here and try to tell me that Langston Walker (unemployed) is a better option at Left Tackle than Jason Peters (starter/2x pro-bowler)?????????????????????????????????????????????????

Please pass the pipe! (or learn a thing or 2 about football)

Walker for Peters was an upgrade for the same reasons that Donte Stallworth was an upgrade to T.O, Orlando Scandrick an upgrade to Pacman Jones, and Glen Holt an upgrade over Chris Henry. The dude didn't want to be on the Bills and his attitude more than showed it. Just getting his lazy azz off this roster is an upgrade. I know it's hard for idiots like you to understand, but there is more to putting together a football team than just talent.

  3. THAT is what I would like to know.

For what little it's worth, I think that Chambers will be about the same as Walker at LT. He is certainly smaller, but I think he is more agile and suited for the position. Still, your question is what stands out. WTF are they doing? How do you cut a player and then name him your starting LT? How on earth could a profession coach focus so little on the LT position?

What an absolute freaking mess. :wallbash:

He isn't the starting LT, Bell is. I would assume they had some sort of agreement with Chambers that they were going to resign him quickly. I assume if he received another offer, the Bills would match. Chambers would come back because the OT situation is so shaky here, as compared to any other team that might offer him a contract.

  4. So let me get this straight, if defenses are doubling and muting Maybin instead of Schobel, it's Chris Ellis that will benefit most?

No, I'm saying if they double Maybin we are screwed because we don't have a pass rusher on the other side that can get to the QB consistently (Kelsay, Denney, Schobel). I said our only hope is for Chris Ellis to perform and hope he can turn into that player we need. Maybin won't help the pass rush much if teams decide to double him.

  5. I'd want to go to Fenway Park and Wrigley field. Unfortunately, looking at the prices, I just don't think I'll be going out to Fenway any time soon, especially when the Yankees are in town.

I want to see LeBron play in a playoff game in Cleveland.

I'm a lifelong Mets fan, but have spent my years seeing them play in other parks due to location. I need to make it to NYC for a game. Too bad Shea is gone.

A home Sabres stanley cup game would be ideal. But that would require them to make it back that far. I'm not optimistic.

Make it to a Notre Dame game in South Bend. So much tradition.

  6. Our only hope is Chris Ellis. I suspect teams will begin to double Maybin when he's in on crucial passing downs and take him out of the game. Maybin won't be a factor unless someone else can win a one on one battle, and we know Kelsay, Denney and Schobel certainly aren't going to get any kind of a pass rush on the other side. Why we cut Bryan is beyond me. Our only hope is that Ellis can be that 2nd pass rusher in crucial moments.

  7. Warren was already a starter, so it's not him who will be replacing Seymour (Warren also had 2 sacks to Seymour's 8). It's about the other guy who are unproven.

I do agree in the long run, it's a great trade for the Pats*. But Seymour, Dick just had a season where he tied his career high in sacks and it was 3 more than anyone else on the time. As good as the Pats are, it hurts any defense to lose your pass rusher and one of the best run stopping linemen in the league.

Well, this year they'll be playing a 4-3 majority, and Warren (a DT in college) will be moved inside with Wilfork. At least that's what is most likely now with Seymour gone.

  8. I'm officially on board with this thread, hope it stays alive.

Practice Squad would be a great addition. With the amount of simulated injuries I usually find myself having to cut people I normally wouldn't just to sign a 5th string OL.

The other issue I would like to see resolved is the draftee signing process. You shouldn't have to cut people from your roster to make room for rookies who have hidden ratings. They should let you sign whoever you want preseason and force you to cut down by the deadline, just like in real life. They could even progressively reveal rookies ratings throughout the course of preaseaon, simulating an in-depth evaluation of the player.

I'm on board with this thread too. To the OP, any links on where you found out the "info" about game updates? All i have found is that they are releasing a roster update.

I'd love to see a practice squad for the same reasons as mentioned as above. I'd also like an expanded roster in the pre-seons so you can play with certain players and get a feel for which guys are good/not so good.

Draft signing has gotten better, but i wish they'd arrange contracts more based on slotting instead of overall rating. If i draft a DE in round 2 who turns out to be an 83 overall, why should i have to pay him 25 million? He's a damn second round pick. The rookie signing logic is still a bit skewed.

Those are great suggestions. The practice squad is necessary.

Any of you know the answer to my question above?

  9. Considering how much football you supposedly watch, I would expect you to display a far greater degree of cognitive understanding of its principles and dynamics.

That fact that you do not only leads me to believe that said cognitive understanding is quite simply beyond your capacity. But don't feel bad, you can always blame it on the gene pool.

Judging by your above posts, I'm surprised you even know what the word cognitive means. If I've displayed any sort of cognitive dropoff in this thread, it can probably be attributed to the fact that it's littered with your handicapped drivel, which has severely brought me down with it. Anyhow, keep making posts with no facts in them. It's enjoyable ripping you apart. :censored:

  10. Please stopping with the blowing of BB. If he was so great, he would have started Brady before Mo Lewis came along.

I think it was a great reade for the Pats* in the long run, but if you don't think the loss of Seymour is going to hurt their defense, you don't watch football. I'm much happier facing a Pats* team starting young, inexperience players.

I don't think losing Seymour will hurt that defense, and I watch more football than you.

  11. I predict this is what will happen:

On obvious passing downs, you will see Maybin in at DE in the 4-3. On first downs, Maybin usually will not play. On 2nd and medium to long range, the Bills shift to 3-4 and Maybin comes in at OLB. On 3rd and long we see the 4-3/nickel with Maybin at DE, and 3rd and <5 we see the 3-4 with Maybin at OLB. This is how you mitigate his disadvantage of size vs the running game and exploit his advantage at rushing the quarterback.

    :censored::censored:

You never cease to amaze me.

  12. So you think switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 a week before the season starts is an indication that things are going in the Pats favor? So you think they get rid of Seymour and switch defenses because they know that "someone will step up?" LoL! Son your lenses are as colored as anyone I've ever known.

    What a joke.

A week before the season? Do you realize that the pats only played the 3-4 defense last year 15% of the time? Do you realize they've been installing the 4-3 over the last 2-3 years? Why don't you get informed before coming to the table.

  13. Seriously, with the Seymour trade the defense of the Pats looks shaky. As Tony Masserotti a Boston reporter calls it:

"With regard to the 2009 Patriots defense, let’s not delude ourselves. After the preseason and entering the Sept. 14 opener, the defensive line was the only area that looked to be trouble-free. In Seymour, Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren, the Pats had three first-round picks that were the foundation of the unit. Those three players might very have comprised the best defensive line in the game. Now Seymour is gone in favor of Jarvis Green, Ron Brace, Mike Wright or Myron Pryor -- or any combination of them all -- and the simple truth is that there is enough reason to question every one of them.

Meanwhile, the Pats seem to have only two proven and capable linebackers -- Jerod Mayo and Adalius Thomas -- in front of a defensive backfield that seems currently entrenched in a game of musical chairs. Beyond the defensive line, especially, there are lots of new faces and a cast of new draftees, which cannot help but make you wonder if the Pats will need to score 40 points a game through the first two months of the season while Belichick sorts out all the pieces.

The point? If the Pats lose another chance at a title this year because their defense proves incapable of making a big stop -- doesn’t that really cover the last three years in a nutshell? – Belichick will have some questions to answer. (Of course, that hardly means he will actually answer them.) For a man with a well-earned reputation as a defensive mastermind, Belichick’s last three teams have been exposed when it came time to make the defining stop, which is the biggest reason the Pats have now gone a full, four-year term without a championship."

The pats may not have what it takes to generate a killer pass rush, the defensive backfield may not be able to handle TO and Evans, and if Edwards can get time (and IF he is good enough...still a question). We might be able to do some harm. On offense Brady is coming off the Knee injury and may not be able or confident enough to rely on that knee. We might give them a game.

Belichick would not make the trade if there wasn't someone that he knew could step up. They will play primarily a 4-3 defense, so it is Wilfork and Warren on the inside. There was no use for Seymour, as he isn't big enough to be a DT and doesn't have the pass rush skills of a 4-3 DE. Pryor has been tearing it up this preseason, and they obviously have very high hopes for 2nd rounder Brace. They have a VERY good group of DT's with Wilfork and Warren starting, and Brace and Pryor as the backups. One of the best DT groups in the league, probably.

  14. Just for the record the Patriots aren't going to be as good as ESPN wants us all to think they are. Everyone drinks somebody's kool-aid. The only question is which flavor are you drinking? Personally I don't care for the Patriots are better than everybody variety. The only thing that has happened to the Patriots recently has been getting smacked down over and over since they went 18-0, and I see no reason not to expect that trend to continue, considering how everyone in the league wants to hurt them as much as possible.
