Just because you have no memory doesn’t mean it didn’t exist.

Ever hear of the Nation of Islam?

And the ole “nice people” BS.

Cool. Did Gerald Ford say they were good people and have dinner with them in the midst of their highest controversy?

Or were they dismissed as fringe bad actors?

    And condemned by US leaders?

Is the rise and acceptable actually rising or is it a perception because with social media and the 24/7 news cycle it’s having a bigger and brighter light shined on it?

I can’t remember a Jews Will Not Replace Us chant at a racist rally in a major city in the 80s, 90s, 00s…and a president who said the rallyers were “good people.”

Nice work Big Blitz-ing this topic.

Awwww isn’t that cute. You disagree with someone and you go out of your way to make sure I know what name you called me.   🙄

So Jews in the US that are one generation removed are more sensitive to the sea of antisemitism?   I’ll have to run that by my wife.  She’ll get a kick out of that.

Making up stories about words I didn’t say. How original for PPP.

I’m sure most Jewish people feel great about the rising acceptance of anti-Semitism in America.

So someone who never experienced the holocaust will recognize the sea of change.  Funny how Jewish DNA works. 🙄

Asinine even for you. It’s not DNA. It’s literally memory, as I noted by saying how recent it was.

Did you try to be this ignorant or does it come naturally?

Just stop, the Jewish people are quite fine and safe  in the United States

Ask your Jewish friends my question.

You have as much chance of running across an actual Nazi or anti semite as you do of having a meteor fall on your house.

Comparing the United States in any way to world war II era Nazi Germany is absurd and the people trying to make this comparison should be ashamed of themselves for sheer stupidity alone.

So stop acting like bills time and enough with the Nazi talk.

Thanks for making the stupid leap. I made no such comparison. I noted that many are one generation removed from it.

Ask a Jewish person if things are changing for the better or worse for Jews in the US.

  6. 1 hour ago, Chef Jim said:

And they would likely kick you in the nuts for making the comparison.

What comparison. I’m saying that Jewish people recognize a sea change because they are not so removed from that time.

It's all marketing man, you know, statistics show 1 in 4 homes have an 11% chance of being struck by meteorites.

    Just sayin

I'm not seeing it Sundancer. I'm not seeing a normalization of Nazism or anti semitism.

I see the normalization coming from those that are splattering social media with references to it, but I'm not seeing an uptick in actual Nazis. Or actual anti semites.

I'm seeing a lot of rhetoric on it coming from the left on it though.

Like if I start warming you about the dangers of meteorites falling on your home for long enough, you're gonna worry about meteorites falling on your home right?

Would you be  interested in buying a meteorite shield for your home? Or meteorite insurance?

Asking again: What do your Jewish friends say?

I know what mine are saying. They’ve never seen a rise of American acceptance of anti-Semitism like this and they don’t feel like there’s a counter trend, especially when it’s being normalized by leading politicians, entertainers, and some of the media.

Nazi-ism and the holocaust are not in most people’s lifetimes but many Jewish folk only need look back one generation to know victims of it.

Why are they highlighting this? Is this a real big problem in our country?

Ask a Jewish American how they feel since Charlottesville.

Normalizing anti-Semitism, such as when a president has dinner with someone who says Hitler is good, is a pretty big step in normalizing it.

Simple answer: Because we have multiple words for virtually everything. That’s what language is.

Clarification: (for my friend Chef) mine is a suggestion, not a religious fiat, or mandate

That's not a WHY answer. That's just an observation that has applicability in some but hardly all circumstances. English famously has far fewer words for snow than other northern languages.

So let's try again: Why do you want two words for marriage?

18 minutes ago, SoCal Deek said:

How many more times do I have to say it to you? I’ve tried just about every way possible…and NONE of them are about any hatred of gay people, as much as you want it to be.

Let me try another. Go to the toy store this weekend and buy a barnyard puzzle for a toddler. I’ll GUARANTEE you that the puzzle will have both a horse and a zebra. We don’t teach our kids that a zebra is a ‘striped horse’. The two things may look alike, but we have different words to describe them. A zebra is no better than a horse, nor vice versa. (In chef terms a yam is not a sweet potato, and a parsnip is not a white carrot….at least I don’t think so anyway).

There’s nothing at ALL degrading about having a more precise language. I have no idea why you think there is.

We don't have different words for horse and zebra because they are different species. If you want to describe a brown horse or a white horse, you add a color adjective.

Marriage is marriage. Why do you want two words for marriage?

Nice to see that people are open to bringing him back. The Bills just don't look the same without him.

5th best offense last year. Currently 2nd.

They have not replaced Bease (or they did but the replacement broke his leg) but they are still funcitoning at a high level. I'm open to bringing him back if he has anything left but if Brady couldn't find a use for him, not sure Josh will.

Well reasoned response. My sole contention is that people in general do in fact use two words to define it. It’s most commonly referred to as ‘gay marriage’ not ‘marriage’. So to show my sincerity to your hypothetical proposition, yes I’m okay with changing traditional marriage to another word. Again, mine is not a primarily religious position. It’s in essence a linguistic one. Trust me when I say I’m not losing sleep over the matter. I just believe it’d be a more accurate (not right or wrong, nor better or worse…as Chef likes to accuse/imply) use of the language. I’m fully aware that my position goes against the common narrative. But I can also assure you that it’s not coming from a position of hate or ridicule.
    Thanks for the discussion.

No “people” do not. Marriage is marriage to most people.

When discussing the political rights of people, it can be helpful to say gay marriage but I don’t say my friend is gay-married or straight-married. They are just married.

We don’t need two words because nothing is different in the union. I don’t refer to old marriage vs young marriage. Or short people vs tall people marriage.

I don't know what you think, but more importantly, you don't know what you think.

As for tagging the site owner, man, thank you for explaining how you thought he might want to put aside the important personal and professional issues he surely deals with to share his thoughts on the value of PPP in the middle of the Pelosi attacker thread.  It probably happens all the time.  I usually call my plumber around 2:30am to ask him what he thinks about copper v pex v galvanized pipe in my home.  The guy loves me.

I get that you are sort of the Associate Site Consigliere, but I do want to offer a suggestion.   Perhaps in your next private conversation with him, you should discuss whether or not namedropping the site owner should violate terms of service, even when it's only for the sake of clarity.   To be completely honest, I have not felt safe in my posting since 11/19, known now and forever to me as the Sundancer Saturday Slaughter.

Have a good day, though. You now hold all the top spots for lamest posts in PPP history.

You're a strange guy to make up a story this long. But by all means, create a narrative. Scott's a good dude. This is not his living and sometimes he weighs in on PPP. Mostly he does not but I like when he shares his thoughts. Good that you backed off your strange claim that I somehow called him to report your behavior. That was out there even for you.

You still haven't backed up your claim (5 times now requested) that I contradicted myself.

You also still haven't admitted you were 100% wrong about two hammers.

LS playbook: Evade, avoid, condescend, lie. Rinse, repeat.

I've deleted the preamble on the inane points you've offered previously, and you're rambling no less now than you did then.  You're welcome to feel anyway you choose, but that doesn't change anything you've said or done.

As usual, you're juggling a few different points of view and just can't keep to stay on track.  On 11/19, you went on a weird screed about the PPP site and tagged the site owner---the freaking site owner--- presumably to get me in some sort of trouble.  Your post was just about the saddest thing I've seen on this board over the years, and that says a lot.  A little bit of a snitch, a little bit of a rat, a little bit of a weasel, and a quick look at how you view problem-solving and dispute resolution--that is to say, ya call the principal.  This time, it seems the principal didn't take the call?

You think this sentence was me tattle-taling on you?!?

"SDS runs TBD and allows this hole to exist because he somehow enjoys what it brings to the overall site. "

Just because you're paranoid don't mean they're not after you, dude.

I tagged Scott to see if he would chime in on the value of PPP. I've chatted with him before about it and thought he might want to post here about his thoughts. Trust me: He's seen a lot worse here than you. And if I was going to report you, there's a button for it. I have not seen anything in your posts that would ever merit that though. What would merit a use of the report button at PPP: death threats, suicide claims, doxxing, kiddy porn, I don't even know what else would concern me at that level.

The good news is that this post is about 10 times more pathetic than that one because you were focused on the tough talk and not what you said previously.  The bad news is you now occupy spots 1 and 2.

I see that you can't give an example of the contradictory posts you say I've made even though I've asked you 4 times for examples.

But I keep noting your conspiracy belief that was proven wrong with actual links, and I see you won't answer it. Just keep ignoring how dumb you look for buying into the two hammer story.
