Not all of them. I remember there being signs on only some of the vending machines around campus that they supported $1 coins. Why would I carry $1 coins instead of bills when I can't use them at all the vending machines I want to? One of the quickest ways to force adoption of this standard would be to simply remove the ability to pay with bills.

If vending machines are actually changed to support the coin, that is.

It depends. I really like Wal-mart for grocery shopping. The stuff is good quality and very cheap. If I was looking at clothing, like socks and stuff, I'd prefer Target. I don't really care for electronics. The nice part about Walmart is they take everything back.
