  1. Assuming Van Pran-Granger doesn't win a starting spot, does position inflexibility create a numbers crunch for backup spots? Of course the team is saying they are going to work him at guard as well, but I haven't heard anyone outside of the team say anything that makes that seem likely. Could the Bills have to look at keeping an extra O-lineman in that case?

You know he's gonna light it up, steal a game or two for them, and kill us at some point late in a game where they run it three times to kill the clock and then cannon a punt to bury us deep when we need a score and there's, like, thirty seconds left.

Steal a game or two? Has there ever been a punter who did that?

This I think is the right solution.

Play 15 minute quarters, each team gets 2 timeouts, include a 2 minute warning, and whoever is winning at the end of the quarter is the winner.  If it's still tied, add on another quarter and 2 timeouts.  Every 2 quarters of overtime gets a halftime break.  This amount of time almost guarantees one possession each and also forces teams to employ strategies around eating the clock.

The current system is overly complex for no good reason.  I wish they'd do the same thing with the 10 minute overtime periods in the regular season.

This is what I favor, except I'd just eliminate OT in the regular season. Don't want the game to end in a tie? Go for 2 on a late/game-ending TD. But I think I'm in a very tiny minority that would be ok with that.

And, after all, what's the matter with a tie? I mean, in regular season?

1970 Chargers notwithstanding, "no overtime" may incentivize teams to play for the win during regulation - things like more 2 point conversion attempts, more likely to go for it on 4th down rather than kicking a FG to tie it, etc.

Been thinking this for a long time! Save overtime for the playoffs, when you have to have a winner. And then just make it an extra 15-minute period.

Some folks here calling Miami a trash team. That is a bit much, but I know folks are feeling good... and we squished the fish.

    I don't think they're a trash team.

They have plenty of talent and should win their share of games and took us down to the wire at home last year in the playoff game.

You're right of course, but it is more a reaction to the over the top hype after week 3 that seems to occur every year.

  6. Richardson looks pretty damn good, not sure how the Colts will do overall this year but they have to be pretty pleased.

His stat line is not super impressive but he passes the eye test 100%. Some guys just have it and some will never get it.
