One of the talking schmucks on ESPN already threw the Bills in the playoff mix this morning, but only half-heartedly.

I haven't seen anyone mention this and I know he really plays for Tampa but, the real question is how's he perfroming in Jacksonville? I didn't pay real close attention monday night but I could have swore I saw a slime and trim impersonator wearing #74 with the name M. Williams on the back?
Can we smoke this guy for some sacks or what??
Should we bring him a box of donuts for his pre game snack??
That would be Maurice Williams for the Jags, not Fat Mike who is out for the year with a shish kabob injury

Hey, if JP wants to step to the front and play like a real NFL QB each week - not just one week - I have no problem keeping him around -- I just want the endless line of schmucks at QB to end in Buffalo. This isn't Miami where they are used to incompetence at the QB spot.

A Qb like russell in the later rounds is a much smarter pick. I am not against a later round pick comming in and working his way to the starting position. I am just against using such a high pick on a player that is not going to produce for years if ever. Especially when there are soooooo many other needs.
You can draft a player at any position in the first round and fail.
Do you remember a guy named Mike Williams??
As long as its not a kicker, I say the Bills should take the best player available when its their turn to pick in April. Seemed to work pretty good in the 1990s with Polian and company at the helm

I think I saw the Bills sequel to that Legends show -- It was TD and the Temple (offensive line) of Dome. It played in Buffalo for five years

I hope the people who were gleeful last Christmas Eve still have that feeling of euphoria.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, the New York Jets have the anchor of their O-line in D'Brick-the guy we would have drafted if we had lost at Cincinnati.
Have another eggnog, and keep that Cincy win euphoria alive!
Actually Mangold has been much better than Brick on that line

Calvin is good, but your avatar is EXCELLENT!! I say we draft Jenn

lol, How can they devout a whole chapter to DB -- he came, he tried to run a naked bootleg and he left --- end of chapter
They should have ENTITLED it Chapter 34: SChmucks. And included DB, TD, MM, GW, RJ and the best punt catcher ever, CW.

There's some truth to what you're saying. I've heard that Polian was fired for being too egotistical, and for keeping Wilson out of the loop. Butler was fired because he apparently refused to negotiate an extension. A.J. Smith wasn't hired as his replacement because Wilson apparently preferred a guy with some experience (TD) to a young whippersnapper who'd never held a GM position before. Also Smith may have sided with Butler in his dispute with Wilson.
Smith definitely sided with Butler -- they were practically best friends

Kelly was drafted in 1983, but didn't join the team until 1986. In part it was money, another part was because the team sucked. If we do not develop an offsenive line it will not matter who is the QB. Jack Kemp couldn't have complete a pass with 3 seconds. Considering the inconsitant protection I can give JP a break on some things. You would need to be brain damaged not to be a tad jumpy back there. Yes, he is not showing the growth we all expected, but put another young QB back there and you'll have the same problems. I would love to see Troy Smith a Buffalo Bill, but without an O line, I would expect him to look like JP.
Troy Smith = Akili Smith, Josh Heupel, Jason White, Gino Toreta (spelling?)

I know ND has a couple All America candidates. Pre-Weis Quinn did not do much. With Weis he was very good last year. This year, he seems to have done OK.
How will his game translate to the NFL? What is his arm strength? Speed, cause he's gonna need it with our OL? How about his intelligence and reading defenses?
Would you have passed on Peyton Manning or Carson Palmer for a lineman then??
Quinn runs a pro offense at ND, he seems to be nimble and spreads the ball all over the field - near and far. Obviously, the one thing nobody can tell you is how he handles the speed of the NFL game since he's not played a game yet. ... Quinn played decent for a true freshman under Coach Willingham

Once bitten, twice shy?
Like any of these better?
Top 15 Targeted Prospects For The Buffalo Bills at Pick 11:
1 Quentin Moses, DE Georgia
2 Dwayne Jarret, WR USC
3 Laron Landry, S LSU
4 Michael Griffin, S Texas
5 Antoine Cason, CB Arizona
6 Paul Posluszny, OLB Penn St.
7 Marcus McCauley, CB Fresno State
8 Quinn Pitcock, DT Ohio State
9 Ted Ginn, WR Ohio State
10 Alan Branch, DT Michigan
11 Adrian Peterson, RB Oklahoma
12 Brandon Merriweather, S Miami
13 Levi Brown, OT Penn St.
14 Gaines Adams, DE Clemson
15 Troy Smith, QB Ohio State
Top 10 Targeted Prospects at Pick 43 For the Buffalo Bills:
1 Robert Meachem, WR Tennessee
2 Jarrett Hicks, WR Texas Tech
3 Quentin Moses, DE Georgia
4 Courtney Taylor, WR Auburn
5 Fred Bennett, CB South Carolina
6 Sedrick Ellis, DT USC
7 Tom Zbikowski, S Notre Dame
8 Earl Everett, OLB Florida
9 Red Bryant, DT Texas A&M
10 Manny Ramirez, OG Texas Tech
Right now if this was who was available, I'd take Ginn or Jarrett at WR with my #1 pick. Jarrett's 6'5", fast, and a legitimate #1 WR. Ginn you'll see on Saturday as The Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Wolvlatrines.
I'd take Moses at DE in RD#2. He'll be the #1 or #2 DE in the draft with Gaines Adams at Clemson.
Willis would be happy if the Bills take Peterson in the first round
