The Jest starting QB. This seems like a situation that is going to go south real quick. He then goes on to say he wants to have input in all the players who will play. Why have a head coach if your GM is going to force your hand? This to me seems like Ole Twinkle Toes days are numbered.
That action by GM is as moronic as those who say Jim Overdorf makes decisions on who Bills cuts. He is the CFO and calculates how much they need to pay not who brings the most to the football team on the field.

I saw them putting down lines in the parking lots. Lot 5 is all black top now. Weight room expansion work going on. LOUD speakers on all 4 towers now. Sealing of upper deck going on now. New metal skin on maintenance building done. New goal posts installed on practice field. I have a 99.44% feeling that Abbott Road will NOT be blockaded this year.

I expect Pears to be another Overdorf Special. He won't last the cuts. Hairston starts if he's healthy, and Sanders backs him up.
This [and to continue] is silly for this is not Tuesday's team the NJ Jest but the Bills. Jim Overdorf does not determine who gets cut.

The problem with competition between rookies and veteran castoffs is the castoffs can often look better in camp / preseason because they are acquainted with how preseason works while rookies are adjusting to their first year in NFL. However many of these castoffs do not have ability to last especially as starters. I'd rather castoffs be signed early in year after opener but before last month if needed where their experience allows they to step into role quickly.
I am not saying either of these veterans will make the team but would rather get players whose experience is ingrown not imported.

His contract was restructured. We do not know what the restructuring is, it could be a pay cut, converting some of salary to signing bonus, change to have more incentives. By itself it does not mean much other than his agent is willing to talk to Bills' front office unlike Byrd's.

Sounds like a way to blame the back room people while keeping good relations between the coach and player. You would never believe this in New England.

End of season. Teams still need to account for bonuses likely to be earned, injury replacements, etc.

No not tell them to take chances (that is news not opinion) and later bash them later.
No problem with reporters reporting facts but they are not doing it anymore, mixing facts with opinions.

They need to put their mouth where their words are - they want Marrone to start EJ as QB but IF the Bills have a poor record they will whine, moan, etc about the 14th year of the Bills not being in the playoffs. They copy it from some cheat sheet which saves them effort and probably have most columns written before games are played. They claim the Bills need to be bold but where are their bold claims to say we will support you if you make such a decision? They get revenue money by repeating their bashing every year and refuse to acknowledge their 180 turns
Be BOLD and PROMISE or it is just 14 years of Sullivan Sulking, Rochester D&C Gloom and Doom, etc.
Oh and use a spell checker and check for damn typos such as words being joined together without spaces like PROFESSIONALS do.

The new contract comes with rules include minimum percentage of cap they need to spend. Bills have gone over cap in past and tend to be 'conservative' trying to leave money for injuries which occur every year. I very much doubt they will not meet the cap minimum.

Remember Pettine was coaching defense when Smith was a Jet and he may have seen things about Smith there that he inputted into reviews. Pettine is not strictly a defense coach. He also saw how defenses adjusted to Smith being in there.
