  1. Sounds like a cool trip...

I came up for the HOF Game. Spent a couple days around Buffalo. Drove through some of the areas of the city I havent seen for a while, stopped at a few of my favorite Pizza and wing places, spent several days in the Olean/Braford area.

Had a great time going to the HOF game. Took my 79 year old step father who'd never been to an NFL game before, also spent the day with my 2 cousins. One of which I hadn't seen in over 20 years.

Being a Firefighter, I stopped in at one of Buffalo's busiest Firehouses (E31, L14) at Baiiley and Doat and traded a few T Shirts.

I also stopped at the Buffalo Fire Museum on Williams Street. Anyone who's intereted in Buffalo history or Firefighting I would strongly recommend stopping in the museum for a visit. :P Lots of cool stuff, and a great buch of guys.

Can't wait to get back up there.. Buffalo and WNY has some really cool things to do.

Thanks, it was great, and thanks to stuck in cinci for the thumbs up! Glad you had a good time too. I think the night I was at the fair there was a big to do with the firemen and some sort of parade. My sister's squeeze is a volunteer.

Agreed! Who was the guy who stopped posting because he came in one day and said 'he did a really bad thing' or did 'something he regretted' of SOMETHING like that!?!?! Everyone jumped his crap like he diddled his sister or something, the guy got all bent out of shape and totally VANISHED. I think I mentioned this guy in my first post ever. But, now his name escapes me....anyone?

    Was it 'BF in Indiana'?

No, I think it was somebody else? Am I able to review all of my posts? Or, did some post history get lost when the server crashed a while back? SOMEBODY must remmber this incident. People were relentless with regards to not taking him serioulsy or otherwise caring. He took it personally and BOLTED! Damn, I wish I could recall who he was.

  3. Of course, I have my personal bias but what about basing it on longevity? Being able to remember ICE, Alaska Darin and Todd have to be worth more than posting " " a 1000 times.

  4. they can stay the same, but I would argue the post counts need to change drastically.

and although we have not taken advantage of it, with increased ranking could come with "more privileges". What those would be - I don't know.

I'm not sure post count is SOOO important. Anyone can pad their post count. I don't post a lot, but I have been a member since 04, a LOT longer than many others on the board. Though I chose not to post a lot, I sign on every day, read near every article and follow the message board. I like the thoughts and opinions MOST of the time. This site is great for a long off season, when I am starved for Bills news. I consider myself to be a member in good standing. I would hate to lose priveliges just because I do not feel compelled to post all the time. I do post and I feel at times I may even contribute. I have also started threads, normally because I am looking for specific information and I know this is the BEST site to get it.

Anyways, I think the date a person became a member should also be taken into account. Post count should not be the end all be all.

  5. Ok, I just got back from a week in Buffalo, and I brought my kids. My son is 8 and my daughter is 4, here is what we did.

1st, my Dad lives in Holland NY now.

So, day one, we just hung on his property. Fished the east branch of the Casanovia, pulled out many small trouts and crayfish. The kids really loved it, though they got TAGGED by mosquitos. In fact, I think we squeezed in some fishing almost every day. Also picked a bunch of wild black berries, which I later made into a pie, TASTY!

Day two. Ride into East Aurora and hit the old timey five and dime, and bought the kids old school candy. Had cake for my Dad's 65th B-day, holy candles! Cooked out, salens, burgers, and smores!

Day three: Erie County Fair! Nearly hurled. Can't handle the rides like I used to.

Day four: Kid's night at the Ralph! Good time, great game, two foam fingers and of course the Trent Edwards growth charts. My sister bought my kids (walmart) two Trent Edwards jersies (AWESOME SISTER!) one was a blue throw back.

Day five: Williams Family Picnic at Chestnut Ridge! It's been 15 years for me, and this was the first for my kids. Egg toss, water balloon toss, horse shoe tourney, and fun games for the kids that involved money and candy. so they loved it! Of course good food and FAMILY.

Day six: Niagara Falls, maid of the mist, souveneir shop, and then to a BBQ at my buddy's house on Grand Island, chicken and Italian Sausage on the grill! Peppers and onions. The chicken marinade was tasty and I was told it was some type of local Buffalo brand, though it was new to me.....

Day seven: Took the subway to downtown. McKinnley monument and City Hall. My son and I took all 28 floors via the stairs! I was a sweaty mess! Subway back to Parkside Candy, milkshakes, sundays and sponge candy to go. Cool place, everyone should take their kids at least once. Very old timey indeed.

Last day: Shot the 22 rifle on my Dad's property with my son. This was his first rifle experience and he is a pretty good shot. Lastly grabbed a Beef on Weck at the airport.

To sum up it was a great trip! We were run ragged, but had a great time. Just wish I could have hit more food spots but we were just too busy. I would have loved to hit Ted's and Anderson's.

That's all, just wanted to share.

    As always, GO BILLS!

  6. Hi all,

I bought some tickets to the kid game off of craigslist using paypal. The guy who sold them to me, said he will send them to me as soon as he gets them. I assumed he had the tickets when we agreed on a deal. He stated these were his season tickets. I just want to make sure that the Bills have yet to send out tix to season ticket holders, so I can make sure my transaction is on the up and up.

    Thanks, and GO BILLS!

P.S. Of course I found cheaper ones the next day...UGHHHHHHHHHHH

  7. I went a few years back and had a good time. The fans were not bad really. Plenty of fellow Bills fans. J.P and Poluzny went down in that game. But, I did not even have a seat, they sell tickets where you can only stand. After that game, my back was killing me (yes, I'm old). Took the train in from Boston, it goes right to the stadium, pretty cool.

I had a great time in Boston, the city is really cool. Great city for walking and public transportation. You can see lots of cool historic stuff just walking. I got the 'T' pass and it got me everywhere I wanted to go, BUT, the train to the stadium was it's own seperate ticket. I recomend buying it the day before to beat the crowds. But, it may be different considering it is a night game. I made a nice 3 day weekend of it. Stayted in a B&B near Fanielle Hall?????, I know I just butchered the name of the place, but it is a cool central area, close to the water front.

Cool city, and I would go again in a heart beat.

  8. Dude, Dollar hot dogs, best game of the year...

SOLD! That alone makes it worth it, or at least helps keep the costs down. Kids are funny, when you take them somewhere, it's not only the price of admission, but it's the stuff they want you to buy. I put this more on my son than my daughter but that kid practicaly demands a t-shirt, or a foam finger, and of course food. Really, he just likes me to spend MONEY. This may be my target game for summer vacation. The weather is great up there this time of year. I know it's selfish of me to drag my kids to MY sporting events, buy hey, I gotta do what I gotta do.

    GO BILLS!

  9. So, what kind of stuff do they have for the kids? Is this worthwhile? I am trying to plan a trip to Buffalo with my kids and thought this might be a good thing to do with them, IF it is fun. My son is 8 and my daughter is 4. If I stay a week, I could tie it in with the Nascar race at Watkins Glen.

Anybody ever been to the Glen? Fun for kids? Camping or anything like that there?

    Any info is appreciatted.

    GO BILLS!

  10. Ralph's daughter, Linda Bogden Wilson passed away today. She has been very ill, with cancer, and, it seems, Ralph, understandably has had his thoughts elsewhere. I thought about starting a thread about this, but with no link to provide, I figured it would devolve into snarky comments... Mr Wilson kept her impending death quiet from those in the organization.

This is very sad. Nobody should out live their children, goes against the natural order of things. Sincere condolences to the Wislon Family.

  11. Ralph fractured his shoulder and was treated in Fl. I heard that the doc that took care of him noted his dementia and did not think he could make any legit decisions. Don't kill the messenger. This is just what I heard.

This is disturbing gossip. I normally hate to speculate...BUT, can you eleborate anymore on this? Where did you hear this?

When was his last public statement?

I am a fan of Ralph, so I truly hope he is doing ok.

    GO BILLS!

  12. I'm glad he got convicted.

I have mixed feelings about taking his name of The Wall. His football acomplishments certainly warrant being up there. Who decides who goes on The Wall anyways? Just Ralph? Is charachter a criteria?

I thought I read something once where Ralph Wilson said he would not take OJ off The Wall, so I bet he stays.
