This is one of those where you don’t want to score too quickly.

The ref factor in this game is strong.

Don’t care about the drop. I love how we are featuring Cook in the passing game. Part of what triggered the 2021 offense ambush was featuring dump offs to the RB’s. It’s been invisible since.
Love the wheel route. Play is always amazing when it works - and should have worked there....

Circle von - watch him do nothing.

Do you think these injuries are messing with the teams psyche? Honest question. Might need a therapist. If I’m on this team - I might just wonder if it’s all worth it at this point.

McDermott just pulled a power play and people aren't seeing it.
Josh is being paid 43M per, so he isn't going anywhere. Still, he reportedly had input into elevating Dorsey to OC, but the decision was McD's.
McD has fired 4 coordinators in 7 years and likely will be under scrutiny if Buffalo doesn't get to the SB. That's highly unlikely with this roster.
Now, McD can spin this hire (and firing now) of Dorsey into that Josh wanted him and he did what he thought best for the franchise QB.
McD gets another crack at an OC if the season continues going sideways. And probably doesn't get fired by TPegs for this (so-far) bad season.
Might seem a bit Machiavellian, but this is McD we're talking about.
he had no choice. One has to go. The lower level one went. Obvious call. Now the question is whether McDermott goes or if beene/pegula gives another chance. IMO that depends on if things turn around or if they are still as toxic as they appear.
I feel like we need to clean house and bring in a new staff. But also - I trust Beane to figure that out. His loyalty to McDermott might be too much of a bias though.
we’ll see…

Something has to give for last night. The similarities with Penn state are off the chart. McDermott (and Franklin) are on the hot seat. Good teams that are underperforming on offense. Someone needs to go. Penn state fired their OC this week. Buffalo needs to do the same. If they don’t - then McDermott needs to go.

we'll probably beat the chiefs and eagles and lose to the jets and patriots and miss the playoffs. that sounds about right....

I’ll be back in if we win 2 of the next 3.

This is in our top 10 worst losses ever. And probably top 5 in regular season. It’s as bad as losing to the Steelers backups when playoffs are on the line. Or Earnest Wilford. Or that horrible Monday night game where Tony romo threw like 14 interceptions and we still lost by allowing 21 points in the last 30 seconds.
this is one that rivals those. 13 seconds. 12 men on the field. 4 Super Bowl losses. Wide Right.
unbelieveable.

Someone needs to be fired tomorrow. Dorsey or McDermott. This is unacceptable. I’ve supported McDermott for years. But I’m done now.
daboll should be free. Daboll as HC. Brady as OC. Find someone as DC and fix this up.
just inexcuseable.

Ok...here's the rest of the game. We score, get the XP...take the lead...give up FG as time expires. Allen goes home and sleeps on a pile of money and spoons Dorsey and McD to sleep.
I wish it was that painless.

Someone needs to be a fall man for this one....
Giant elephant in room. Beane

He put this team together. He is fine. Gabe Davis. Not re-signing Edmonds. Getting Douglas. Allen and Diggs. Torrence seems like a good fit, as does kinkaid. Cook is promising.
agree it’s time for a re-tool. Lots of aging talent. Von signing was a bust - but it’s really an injury bust - hard to fully pin that on beane. We pushed hard to win it all these last couple years and failed. But I’m not sure that’s beanes fault - or really anyone’s fault.
there is however something off. This team - as we saw last night - is one of the best teams in the league. But we lack consistency. We simply had some horrific games against inferior opponents. That’s not on beane. That’s probably more on McDermott/Allen/Captains for not being ready to play Denver and the Jets and the patriots.
I can accept losing the way we lost last night. It hurts. But it’s an acceptable fight and an acceptable loss (refs and penalties aside). What I can’t accept is laying a complete egg on some other games. It’s not last night that was the problem this season.
