This is the New York Giants CJ Spiller Buffalo Bills draft pick. The Bills use to do stupid stuff like that which is one of many reasons the Bills playoff drought was so long. The Giants set there franchise back 15 plus years choosing a dime a dozen RB Saquon Barkley over QB Josh Allen insanity if you are a New York Giants fan. As a Bills fan we were very fortunate Josh Allen fell to us and both the New York Giants and New York Jets passed on Josh Allen in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

He was such an awesome talent - with no injury history before the NFL.  He is also as much of a receiver and YAC guy as he is a RB.  I get why people were tempted.

But you’re right.  The days of an NFL RB changing the game for the better part of a decade are over - at least in today’s NFL.  There is no reason to spend a top pick on a RB - the same reason why there is no reason to pay them top dollar (last years fight).  You can simply plug in a James cook, Isaiah Pacheo, Devon Singletary or Tony pollard and you’ll do 90% of what the top guys do for 50% (or less) of the cash.

I think that with all of these extra games, conference championship games should be eliminated. It is not a popular opinion.

With the way we're trending - I probably agree, unfortunately ....Personally id like to see the conference championships mean something and be a gate to making the playoffs...

  3. NCAA is dead...

should have been 6.  Winner of Big10, Pac10, SEC, ACC and PAC12, and highest ranked P5.  2 Byes.

or if 8...Winner of Big10, Pac10, SEC, ACC and PAC12, and highest ranked P5 and 2 at large bids.

But now they have gone crazy.

  4. A little misleading as technically we traded a first for Diggs.

But the bigger alarm is three RBs.   I had to look to validate that.  I remember cook, but forgot Singletary and moss were in there as 3rd rounders.  Big difference if one of them was a productive WR, LB or DB last year.

But I cant fault Beane/McDermott here.  Drafting has been top notch.  Sure we wish we could hit MORE - but I'd venture to say our hit rate is in the top tier.

It's pretty incredible actually the late round "Hits".  Gabe Davis, Benford, Spector, Teller, Shakir, Hamlin, Hodgins, Dane, Teller, McCloud, Neal.... Really the only bad recent misses are Elam, Basham, and Moss.

You cant hit them all....but I think our hit rate is pretty damn good.

  5. Success breeds success.  You gotta get that breakthrough.  Until we do it - it’s going to loom over our heads.  But once we do it - it will be 50/50 who will win.  We’re right there.  Our talent is on par. The difference is they know they have been there before and they know they can win. We know they have found a way to beat us every time it matters.  It’s not talent. It’s mindset. And that’s hard to overcome.

I am in the same boat as you, and have been coming around to this point of view now.

Honestly, ive never been a fan.  Ever since his "not shaking hands" incident at the Penn State/Maryland game in college I have been skeptical of him and his antics. There was a thread on here a couple years ago about "which bills player of all time did you not like" and he was my pick - and I took heat for it.  None of this surprises me.  Im glad he has been here - and helping us win....but it's transactional for me.  I'm not a fan, and when his time here is done - I won't miss him.

I believe he’s a better play caller than Brady. It’ll be interesting to to see how he does. Browns are talented.

3rd and less than 1...shotgun with josh allen....OVER AND OVER....that was my #1 issue

I want people to list off some of McDermotts best coaching moments that you can remember which directly impacted the outcome of a game in a positive way. You guys think McDermott deserves another year? Prove it and post each scenario/evidence as to why you believe McDermott deserves another shot.

Uh...What are Billichecks.  What are Reids.  What are Sabans.  There are no best single moments in coaching.  Its establishing a culture, and many other things that cant boil down to a "coaching moment"
