  1. Let's be realistic here. When I heard T.O. signed with Buffalo my first thought was "geez...nobody else wants him?" The Bills are pretty much the bottom of the barrel for player of his star power. Oakland, Detroit and Cinci may be a shade lower.

    PTR

EXACTLY. I was trying to put it in a way that wasn't offensive to other Bill fans.

Nobody else wanted T.O. He is going to the graveyard of the NFL.

  2. In an email sent to FOXSports.com on Friday morning, agent Drew Rosenhaus said there are "several teams" interested in Owens and he expects "to have a deal in place by the end of next week if not sooner."

Rosenhaus declined to name the interested parties.

    NOBODY WANTED T.O.!!!

  3. Maybe the situation is worse than it appears between front office & JP.

    to quote "Keep the Faith"

"Agree on #8. Trent was still running the ball and taking a hit well after it was over. Admire the intensity. My guess is that Jauron and JP can't stand each other. He won't put him in a game when Trent is struggling badly or when it's a blowout. "

Trent has a concussion already....take the dude out in the 4th. The Bills may need JP to contribute at some point this season.

Is Jauron a really bad coach or does Jauron really hate JP?

  4. How do you know he isn't right? Obviously he's been playing poorly but if his coaches have ill prepared him for the defensive schemes, that could be a big factor.

    Flashback to 2007:

After the 2nd week last year vs Pittsburgh, JP said in a press conference we have to stop the "Run, Run, Pass". He has been in the Bills doghouse ever since.

  5. “The hardest thing that is happening to me — this happened early in the season, and it’s happened the past couple of games — is that I’m preparing for defenses that we’re not really getting on Sundays or Monday night and they didn’t really bring the defense that we thought the Browns played against the Broncos,” Edwards said. “That’s what we’re practicing out here on the practice field all week and then we’re facing an entirely different defense...."

How about admitting that it was your fault & not the coaches???

  6. I remember after last years' loss to the Browns that took us out of the playoff picture Trent actually complained about being cold and damp during the game in the post game interview. THAT was something that really concerned me at the time. Still does. As soon as the season was over he left Buffalo for warmer weather. It's hard to acclimate yourself to the cold when you aren't in it for an extended period of time. He's got a lot of issues that will be answered one way or the other in the coming weeks. I've had it with him and hope that Jauron benches him for Losman if he looks afraid again early in the KC game.

Why not rotate depending on weather (for this year only). JP in the cold & Trent in domes or above 60 weather. Neither JP or Trent is the QB answer for Bills.

    Whatever it takes to win.....!!!

  7. Your not born to play in Buffalo's climate, you adapt to it. I heard Jim Kelly's story of how he didn't want to be drafted by Buffalo due to the weather a few times.

Face it.... Trent is our future QB, weather is the least of our problems right now.

I don't agree about the future part....maybe just 2009. TE cant get it done in cold weather.

What about the present? Lets win today!!!

  8. You keep pointing to Eli Manning and how his coach didn't give up on him etc. But Eli is a on a good team. He has a GREAT running game and GREAT defense. They don't need him to do much. Even in the Super Bowl even though he was MVP, he got a lot of help from his recievers. Several times he threw it up for grabs and his guy came down with it. If Trent played for NYG he could do as good as Eli. If Eli played for the Bills, he' suck and we'd be calling to put JP in. Even you're own stats prove my point!

Difference: Eli can play in the cold..... Edwards hates the cold.

  9. Trent has made it known that he doesn't do well in this climate.....and he is currently having major struggles. JP has struggled with the Bills & made it clear he's not coming back next year.

His arm & his play has proven that he can no QB in Buffalo in November & December. Therefore, T.Edwards is NOT the future for the Buffalo Bills......lets deal with it.

JP is definitely not the answer in Buffalo as well.....he is gone after this season. But, JP is currently a member of the Buffalo Bills. Love or hate him, JP looks like a better solution at the current time... don't take it personal.

Lets all pull for the Bills to win...... the hell with JP & TE kool aid drinkers.

  10. hahahaha...like the analogy...nice

As good as that was, I do have to say that I dont know that the staff and front office has seperated from JP nearly as much as a lot of fans think or want to believe.

bottom line: Let's try to win it this year with whoever & whatever it takes. Worry about next year's QB in 2009.

JP is still on the team, if he can help....put him in. If Jauron believes Trent will snap out of this nasty funk... roll the dice.

  11. Then how do we explain his game against S.D.??

I refuse to believe it was the hit in AZ........ If you wanna understand how a guy forgets to play football, hang out with our coaching staff for a week.

I was just on this board last week stating how the players needed to take ownership of their bad play, and that the coaches weren't the ones on the field turning the ball over, etc. I knew then that I was making a mistake, and Monday night was the final straw for me.

I'm not screaming "fire sale" here but our approach needs to change. Our gameplan needs to improve, it needs to fit our skilled players, our players shouldn't be conforming to some random gameplan, and I think that's what's happening here. Everyone keeps yelling that Evans was wide open down field all night long. Does anyone wonder why Evans was streaking down field all night long? Why are we sending him deep on every play when Edwards is reluctant to throw the deep ball? What, no cross patterns?? Wouldn't that have been a pretty good idea since they were in a drop back cover 2?? There should have been 3 pockets Evans could have been found in underneath the safeties had he gone across the field. Look, I'm no OC, but I know football, and I know when a coaching staff is not forming a gameplan correctly, and that goes in line with refusing to adjust to a team's defensive gameplan. Sorry, but the big picture here is our gameplan, not the players. They're being asked to do things we shouldn't be doing........ that and our brainfarts regarding time outs, not throwing the ball to gain better field position for a game winning field goal, etc. The list just goes on and on........

    Your answer:

The Browns rushed 3 & had 8 in the secondary all night. Edwards couldn't adjust, except for checking down to Lynch all night. Remember, Browns secondary SUCKS.

It seems Trent does well in fair weather games against weak opponents. So far, he has sucked in all cold games (regardless of opponent)..... absolute brain freeze. Trent hasn't shown he can throw deep in this weather.

Maybe the Bills should by him a helmet heater.

No way we should lose to Browns, at home, on MNF.

  12. What I think the majority of Bills fans don't get is the fact that Head Coach DicK Jauron has given complete autonomy to Offensive Coordinator Turk Schonert in play calling.

Its the play calling that more at fault in my opinion. WTF are the Bills in the shotgun formation on the very first play?

Constant use of the shotgun is what is screwing the team up.When you run play action it helps keep the linebackers from cheating up because they don't know if its a run or pass. In shotgun all the time it leaves no doubt so they drop deeper.

I read more rants in this forum about the QB stinking up and losing the game. Its a team game...coaching,players,game plan.

My take is Schonert saw that Trent had some success early in the season against some weaker teams so he opened up the passing game, and he keeps trying to win games by throwing the ball all the time. That plan might work if they didn't use the shotgun formation so often.

I'm hoping that since Marshawn Lynch finally had the chance to show what he can do that perhaps Schonert will let him and Fred Jackson get more carries.

Say what you want about Turk..... Fairchild make Turk look like a genius. Can you imagine Trent running Fairchilds offense? I like what Turk has done this year. What scares me is Jauron taking over the offense.

One criticism of Turk, is that before this game, it appears he wasnt giving Marshawn enough carries. This offense should be centered around Lynch & pass 2nd.

  13. The idea that he's still recovering from the hit in Arizona is retarded. Did you watch the game against S.D.?

That's not it. I'll tell you what it is; the more he's coached by a panzy conservative chicken sh't pu**y like DICK, the more he resembles him. He becomes more and more gun shy each week, just how Jauron wants him. I'm saying this now: Jauron is ruining Trent Edwards on a weekly basis. If we don't eliminate Jauron from this equation, Edwards is toast. BTW, our D played better in the 2nd half, so your suggestion that the D was tired is also just wrong........sorry.

You are right.... D did fine in 2nd half. I just hate when people blame the D for playing a good game....just pointing out what they accomplished in the 1st qtr.

  14. - Trent had not re-covered from the Arizona hit.

    - He had 3 picks in 1st qtr....one dropped in the end zone

    - ESPN clocked him holding ball for over 4 seconds

    - Trent sucked on Monday vs Cowboys as well.

    - Trent only beats the weakest NFL teams

    - checked down all game

    - receivers open all game

    - Cant throw deep in November

    - For being intelligent....say UH alot

    - Doesn't take responsibility for loss

    - our defense was tired cause of defending after three 1st qtr picks.

    - Browns suck...they had no business winning in Buffalo

    Edwards is getting worse......nuff said!

  15. The defense lets NY stay on the field for an 8+ minute drive that puts them up by 2 scores and they're not bad?

    From AP story..........

At least the Bills' defense held up for the most part. Buffalo, instead, was undone by yet another sloppy offensive performance.

Trent Edwards finished 24-of-35 for 289 yards with a touchdown, two interceptions and a lost fumble, which led directly to the Jets scoring 10 points.

"For the most part, we're kind of beating ourselves," Edwards said. "The only finger I'm pointing is at myself."

  16. We played the frickin' Jets in Buffalo. We should win this game 9 times out 10. Overall the Bills played fine, but Trent did us in this game.

I don't want to hear anything about our defense. I wasn't thrilled with their performance....but it was definitely not bad.

Trent has done well in the beginning of season....but, why can't win the gimmie games at HOME??????

  17. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/billsnfl/story/423565.html

Like the rest of the Bills’ offensive players, Losman is encouraged by what he’s seen of the scheme this summer.

“It seems that Turk has that confidence in his players to call those plays,” Losman said. “We had three passes in a row. It’s not just going to be run, run, pass. We’re going to have opportunities. An incomplete pass? So what; we’re coming right back at you. That type of mentality definitely helps quarterbacks, in particular, get into a rhythm. It’s nice to see. It’s going to be fun for everybody.”

Brought a smile to my face as I think back on last season and Fairchild's horrible play calling. Turk's offense has made some positive strides this year and hopefully things keep going in the right direction once the season starts.

That "run, run, pass" statement got JP in trouble last year. THANK GOD FAIRCHILD IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt that both Edwards, Losman & the Bills will be much improved on offense this year.
