  1. The thing with Fitz (in my opinion) is consistency. There are times when he looks like Manning/Brees. Then there are times when I think I could go down there throw a better pass, myself. If he can replicate (for all 19 games this year) what he did before he hurt his ribs in the Redskin game, then I don't think he needs to improve. He just needs to be that QB we saw he could be last year.

  2. ...a 7-9 season, -at best.

Heck, I'll go out on a limb and call it 8-8.

    Just bein' real. -GO BILLS.

With our soft schedule, I would be shocked with fewer than 10 wins. The Bills are a much better team this year than last.

    Wandstadt > Edwards

    Mario > Spencer Johnson

    Gillmore > Florence

4-3 with our personell > 3-4 with our personell.

  3. Manning yes

    RG3 NO

    Romo NO

    Vick NO

    Freeman no

    Newton yes

    Ryan yes

    Brees yes

    Cutler NO

    Rodgers yes

    Stafford yes

    Ponder no

    Kolb no

    Smith no

    Bradford yes

    Flynn NO

    I've got ...

    7 yes

    9 no

RG3 is unproven, but if he shows he can adjust to the NFL like Cam Newton, it is an obvious "yes".

Romo is not clutch, I say we lose the Raiders game last year if he was the QB.

Vick is close to being done (yes I said it), I would be shocked if he is better than average this year. A replacement for Fitz better be around for more than three years.

Cutler would cry and complain as soon as a losing streak occurs (and it will occur). Fitz will be calm and ride out the storm. I would say Cutler has the better skill set though, but not by much.

Matt Flynn was a product of his system. He is vastly overrated and will not be a starter in two years, if that.

  4. "NO" to Dalton and Schaub? Explain please

Dalton was a rookie who had amazing chemistry with potentially the best WR in football. I see the NFL figuring out how to stop the Dalton/Green connection, or at least slow it down. Dalton had a sensational rookie year, but I'm not sold on him just yet.

Schaub is hot and cold (just like Fitz). In order to replace Fitz, I would want a consistent player. In addition, Schaub is throwing to the best WR in football.

Fitz played lights out during the first half of the year... the his line got injured, his safety valve got injured (Jackson), and he messed up his ribs. Give him a healthy line, a healthy Jackson and healthy ribs and I would take him over both Dalton and Schaub.

  5. In no particular order

    1. Daryl Talley--the heart and soul of the Super Bowl era teams.

    2. Bobby Chandler--too small, too slow. All he did was get open and catch the ball

    3. Roland Hooks--all purpose back who had the misfortune of being the best player (IMHO) on some not so great teams.

    4. JimBraxton--overshadowed by his backfield mate, but great ball carrier in his own right, but best known as a devastating lead blocker, as well as picking up blitzing LBs like no one before or since.

    5. Tom Sestak-- ex Marine who was 27 as a rookie. With more cooperative knees, he would have played longer, and have a little statue in Canton, OH.

Really, no Jimbo? I'll concede that Daryl Talley was the heart and soul of the defense, but Jimbo was the heart and soul of the best team Buffalo ever put on the field. In addition, I would argue that Jimbo may still be the heart and soul of our Bills. Do not think for a second that he wasn't instrumental in bringing Mario to town.

    My list:

    1. Jimbo (the reason why I love the Bills)

    2. Jerry Butler (the reason why I first learned to catch a football)

    3. Tasker (truly a classy guy)

    4. Winfield (a great Buckeye and a great Bill... too bad we let him walk)

and a current Bill to round out my list

    5. Fred Jackson

  6. Brady yes

    Sanchez no

    Tannehill NO WAY

    Weeden NO WAY

    Flacco yes

    Big Ben yes

    Dalton NO

    Schaub NO

    Luck yes

    Hasselback no

    Gabbert no

    Manning yes

    Palmer NO

    Rivers yes

    Cassell no

    I've got ....

6 yes & 9 no. Of course, I expect at least three of those "yes" men to make the Hall of Fame one day.

I've always thought that Fitzpatrick is good, but not elite. He is getting paid as such and will keep his job until he gets too old or we find someone elite to replace him.

  7. Last year was an exciting year (through about week 8 or so). The Bills were close last year, but a rash of injuried derailed their season. The same thing could happen this year, unless we stay a little more healthy.

On paper, the Bills look better. I am much more confident with Wannstedt running a 4-3 with Mario, Kyle, Dareus and Mark Anderson on the line than I was last year with our horrible DC, trying to run a 3-4 with two defensive tackles and no "real" defensive ends. But the entire season will hinge on the ability for our key players (Jackson, Jones, Wood, K. Williams, McGee, Merriman, Lindell), staying healthy. All of whom listed, ended up on IR.

Rest assured, the Bills will win more than 6 or 7 games this year, unless of course our IR report looks like Fitz, Wood, Mario.

  8. With Williams, Gilmore and Brooks as nickel corner....

First those three guys have to win their jobs. Nothing will be given to them by the likes of McKelvin, McGee, and Florence.

Best in NFL, might be a stretch. As of right now, I will settle for... competitive. I hate seeing the secondary ripped apart by freakin' Mark Sanchez twice a year.
