We gotta move onto the Aints..
Forget this brutal loss.. we didnt show up. Any given Sunday (or Thursday).
I agree. The good news is, we have a few extra days to prepare for this game.
-
3rd and 7th. Not bad not bad
-
Hoping a 4th rounder.
-
We gave them a 3rd for Marcus Stroud.
They give us a 6th for Dareus, go figure.
Didn't we also give them a 1st and a 4th for Rob Johnson, they got Fred Taylor out of it?
At least this contract is off the books.
-
So Bills fans, who will be next then to get traded? Shaq Lawson?
-
Congrats to SAMMY. This is the best thing that could happen for him. The bills organization is always making the wrong decisions. This trade only makes sense for the head coach and the GM. They now have a full five years to make excuses for putting out a bad football team. This team was a good defense away from being in the playoffs last year. The ownership group does not know what they are doing. I will not be wasting my time watching this team this year or next. You guys can now get excited about the draft for the next two years. How did I get hooked on cheering for a Loser like the Bills?
Bills fans are loyal and will be there through thick and thin.
-
Just heard on Murph. Holy freaking cow
The Sammy Watkins trade makes sense strictly for financial reasons despite his amazing talent when healthy. The Bills didn't pick up his option/contract extension for next year and the years ahead. The Bills will have to look for another WR next year in the draft. It's official that trade for Sammy years back is now considered really bad for us.
The one that is kinda interesting and not sure about is the Ronald Darby trade. Wonder why they are getting rid of Darby.
-
When it's too tough for them.........
It's just right for us.
-
I'll say Kyle Williams.
As players age, there's a big drop off with each next off-season.
That would be a huge surprise considering he was talked into coming back by the new Buffalo coaching staff. I'll go with Charles Clay.
-
or he will ball out to get better offers in FA.
That's what I am thinking will happen. I am expecting a career year from Sammy Watkins.
-
After the trade down yesterday, I think it's clear that Bills management doesn't think it'll happen in 2017. If they'd thought this team was close, they'd have used that #10 overall to find a clear upgrade at an obvious position of need.
So what is the target year now? When could the Bills reasonably project as a 9.5 win (or so) team; that is, a team that is expected/is more likely than not to be in the playoffs? Not as in, "we project as a 7-9 team, but if a bunch of bounces go our way we could sneak into the playoffs at 9-7."
2018: they've pretty much signaled that Tyrod is a one year bridge (again) in 2017, and there'll be a new QB in 2018. You wouldn't be stockpiling picks for 2018 expecting to win with rookies right away. Plus you've got some big contracts for aging players in their decline phases still on the books. So ... no. Not yet.
2019? I'd guess that McD (not Whaley) thinks this is when he'll have to start showing results. Start showing results, as in "got out from under some of the bad decisions of the Whaley era, and started showing a new core of players that's ready to take the next step."
That brings me to 2020 ... I guess all of that could change if we somehow grab a Garoppolo or Cousins and he turns out to be the QB of our dreams, but that seems unlikely. 2020 it is!
EDIT: maybe this has something to do with how long they think Brady will last? The recent moves strike me as going into full rebuild mode but being afraid to admit it.
Sounds about right. When Brady retires that's when we will be ready to pounce. Still need to load up. Would like to see us get Greg Robinson today to play RT from day one.
-
1. Defensive improvement namely at the safety position
2. Bring back Tyrod and have a healthy Watkins
3. Not allow a 200 yard rusher during the year
4. Have 11 men on the field for every play.
5. Find another receiving threat on offense (WR or 2nd TE to pair with Clay)
6. Stay Healthy
Looks about right. If we switch the the 4-3 then I would probably add another defensive tackle.
-
Deion Sanders sucked at tackling too. Most corners suck at it outside of Aqib Taleb.
Antonie Winfield was an excellent tackler when he played for us.
-
How about play action pass to Watkins on first down for a touchdown?
-
71-year old head coach? Might as well bring back Marv.
I will see Marv tomorrow. I'll ask him if he wants to coach again.......
-
Are you kidding me does everyone want more of the same next year
Bills fans are suckers.
A win against the Browns and some are reconsidering. Lol.
I voted to fire him after the season. Time to move on. We are not making the playoffs.
The thing that always bothered me about Rex is the game management. The prime example of this was the Oakland game. We had no business blowing up like that.
-
I would say only Kyle Williams.
I would also say Fred Jackson
-
Far from competitive? Not really. They are closer than you think.
Agreed. With better coaches we are fighting for a playoff spot and maybe getting in. As far as wining the division, no way, as long as the Patriots are there that not going to happen for awhile.
-
Why do the media !@#$s always bring up job security in situations like that? Is it simply to try and get the coach pissed off?
I completely agree. Are they just trying to piss Rex off? Sounded like they were just trying to provoke him.
-
describe what you saw today in ONE sentence.
We were trying to take away their passing game.
-
Rex is absolute garbage anymore. Never seen so many 3 man and 2 man rushes. They are not working and he keeps doing it like an idiot!
Carr is horrible when pressured, yet Rex refuses to do it. When he did the Raiders had to punt. Everytime he rushes 3 or less the Raiders have scored.
He needs to go!
Agree 100%. If this gets the Ryan's out of town that's fine. To give up 29 unanswered in that short of time is inexcusable.
-
I've lost two WS in game 7's in extra innings, this along with my Bills fandom is almost too much to take. I'm still shellshocked
I'll tell you Ohio, the better team in the end won the series. The tribe had a few chances, but the cubs lineup was just too potent. I do feel for you, no doubt about it.
-
Every !@#$in week. Team has no chance with this bad luck.
Do you really think we had a chance to begin with?
-

Its really tough sometimes, the really good teams find a way to battle through it and win more than lose.
