I hate to do this, but I am going New England 34-17.  I think the game is tied at halftime but the Patriots wear down the Rams defense and pull away at the end.

Yea Brady is the MVP and everyone’s “wonderkid” Coach McVay shows that he’s not up to the task of outcoaching Belichick

Heres a huge list of predictions from all ESPN writers.  The majority seem to pick NE though its closer than last year

I see it similar if the OL of New England gives Brady time to throw. New England 31- Rams 23.

I'd also put 8 in the box.  Make the Bills prove they can throw.  And I'd rush the passer and play man on all WR's until the Bills can throw.  McCarron and Peterman are bad with pressure (sacks v. INT's) and Allen is a rookie.

That said, our WR's could surprise, and after getting burnt perhaps a few times, the D coordinator would need to change.  But until then, I'd run this type of D.

I agree with this.  Occasionally if its third and long I may drop into a deep zone, let whoever is QB the Bills to throw underneath pick up 5-8 yards and then force them to punt.

I expect Cleveland, NY Jets to do the same with their guys. There is going to be growing pains, no matter if you start him now or a year from now. You need in game experience. These guys are top ten picks and you draft someone that high to play.

Peyton Manning, John Elway, Steve Young (who sat behind Montana to "develop"), Troy Aikman, Andrew Luck, etc. All had bad first years, if it goes that way for Allen it's no big deal.

McCarron and Peterman are not good enough to not throw Allen out there right away.

He has to earn it and compete from day 1 in order to start week 1 at Baltimore. No way would I throw him into start from day 1.  That would be foolish.

"From what I understand, it's not going to be one of those things where they just sell out and (trade) all the way to No. 2 with the Giants," Rapoport said. "I would be at this moment surprised if that happens."

I still think that if their #1 guy is there at 2 they do everything they can to get there.

Hopefully there is a Plan B in place to get to 4-5 though if, for whatever reason, they can't get there.

If we trade to 4 or 5, hopefully Darnold or Rosen will still be there.

Just playing scenarios here and still hope we move up to get a qb.  But what if OBD thinks price is too steep to move up to #1 or #2 to get ahead of jets. I dont think its to bad staying at 12 and doing something like this.

    12. Edmunds or smith - LB

    22. Lamar Jackson - QB

    53. James Daniels - C

    56. Chirstian Kirk - WR

    65. Tim Settle - DT

I would be really happy with this.  Have lamar and aj in camp and battling it out.

If we don't move up, this appears to be a very good draft with a lot of good to potentially great players.

We saw what they Jets did to move up to 3.  Two second rounders and a second next to move from 6 to 3.

What would we need to move up to 2?  12, 22, 56 and a second rounder next season?

     QB Position:

    • Clearly,  they're going BIG game hunting. They want a terrific young  Franchise  QB (as evidence with all the draft capital), that can not just win games, but win championships!!
    • They also want a valued backup (Phily being the copycat in a copycat league). Sure you'll  here names like Bradford, Keenum, but someone like McCown or Matt Moore are probably the guys that will backup. Bradford probably wants to start, same with Keenum, but the main  thing here is which QB takes the least amount of money,  which means probably Moore or McCown.

How do they  get into the top 5??:

    • 1 of 2 ways. If Cleveland takes Barkely @1, (which I predict they will) then the Giants, IMHO, will give serious consideration  to Buff trade. Deal is NY Giants get: 21, 22, 53, 2019 3rd, & Cordy Glenn  OR.... Indy gets:  21, 22, 53, 65, 2019 2nd

    Draft??

    • The way we look at it, we give up ALOT, but it's still a normal draft. We have picks in the 1st,  2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th round. We may loose a future 2, 3, or maybe even a 1, but with the trade of Glenn we will have alot of cap room in 2019 to fill in  those holes/picks. Not to mention we'll obtain at least 2, possibly more comp picks for guys like Gaines, P.Brown, if they walk.

    Free Agency:

    • No big names, but they'll try WR, but IMO, the market is way too high, which is why I think they'll target DJ Moore, or Anthony Miller in the 2nd round. Probably fill Preston Brown role with a guy like Avery Williamson. I think  they'll also  try to find a FA off lineman.

If we move into the 2 or 3 spot, I think your right, that's probably what we are going to have to offer to take the Rosen, Allen or Mayfield.  It gets interesting if the Browns take Barkley at 1 instead of Darnold.

Please forgive the lateness and general form in which this was put together.  I watched the game at a bar, took on a bowl challenge, may have thrown up, and then had to wait to make the 90 minute drive home.  Then I saw the end of the Pats game and threw up again.  With that....

1 - Tyrod - If ever there were a game of Tyrod being Tyrod.  Great first half.  Some great throws, some terrible throws.  Good use of his legs to escape certain sacks as well as get some first downs.  The biggest question about Tyrod I have is:  What happened to his deep ball?  At the beginning of his career here, his deep ball ability was second to his scrambling ability.  Now, his deep throws don't seem to have a chance and usually end up out of bounds.  I'm happy we are taking shots deep and I know it's a low percentage play anyways, but his accuracy deep is concerning.

2 - McDermott - Playing a Dolphins team that just beat the Pats and have looked good as of late, this team showed up strong.  That was easily our best first half of football this season and the game felt relatively in control until the last few minutes.  In a game where we could have done very Billsy things, we didn't.  What's interesting to me is the aggressive play call we had this week vs last week against the Colts.  We go from punting in OT with 4 minutes left to going for it on 4th and 7 and almost 4th and 1.  I'm actually happy about the Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty against Groy at the end so that we'd kick for 3.  It's interesting to see this guy learn as he goes and ultimately I'm believing he'll be our head coach for a years to come.

3 - Shady - 10k on the way to 12k.  I've said this in previous weeks, but it's almost too easy to take Shady for granted.  Our offense lives and dies with this man, so it should be no surprise that 2 of our first 3 TDs were thanks to him.  When we extended him after the trade, I was worried about his ability to produce 3 years into the deal.  I was so very wrong.  Shady is the heart of our team, is a spectacle on the field, and I hope he retires a Bill.

4 - Before all the fireworks exploded
Our conversations were so loaded, innuendo flying
    Now what can we say?
    Have a nice day
    Looks like rain today...

5 - Cornerback depth - I know that this will make a few people want to throw up on here, but we need to draft or sign more DB's in the offseason.  Our pass coverage drops off dramatically when EJ Gaines leaves the field.  Johnson is a liability in coverage and our 3 game losing stream occurred when we were down 1 of our 2 starters.  I'm not blaming it on solely that, but the defensive play changes immediately.  We need to shore the depth up here.

6 - Defensive Containment/Tackling - If there's one thing that worries me the most about next weeks game against the Pats and our 2nd biggest issue on defense, it's the poor tackling and holding to our zones on defense containment.  So many big plays today were because of poor angles and bad tackling.  The Pats live off of taking advantage of these mistakes and we will get crushed if we keep that up.  I can't even count the number of plays I thought were stopped in the backfield only to have it be turned up downfield for a big gain.

7 - Pass Rush - This has been the biggest issue for me this season and I'm happy to see Frazier making adjustments.  We aren't sending extra blitzers a lot, but it's more than we were.  Our front 4 got pressure on more than a few plays, while also almost creating a few turnovers by knocking the ball out of Cutler's hand.  Cutler's internal timer was going off all day and one of the main reasons we had our 3 turnovers.

8 - White - Is anyone else in contention for Defensive Rookie of the Year?  I had very little opinion of him when drafted but wow.  This kid plays like a seasoned veteran and I was happy he ended up with the game sealing INT.  He almost made a beautiful interception in the endzone by reading and cutting on a play perfectly.  No matter what happens this season, White is a true standout and positive from this season.

9 - Rivalry? - Does anyone else enjoy having the feeling of a rivalry again with the Dolphins.  I know that neither of us are really relevant in the big picture NFL, but I love to hate these guys.  Hating the Pats does nothing but make you drink.  But you can see the residuals from the Aaron Williams hit last year.  These guys really don't like each other and it was evident earlier.  I'm actually really disappointed in the Refs for not paying more attention to the after-play action.  We need to play smarter, but a lot of unsportsmanlike penalty calls (and blatant holds) weren't called today on the fish.

10 - Control - Two weeks left and we are in control of our own destiny.  Yes, we've been here before but we weren't supposed to be here this year.  It's been a very up and down ride but it feels good to think about where we are and what's coming up.  We have a head coach, a base of players, a lot of picks, and money to spend.  The BBFS in me says I'll probably regret saying this, but things might finally be looking up, regardless of how this season ends.

All I want for Christmas is a Win over the Pats and broken Brady face.

    Go Bills!!!!

Good write up Virgil.  I'm interested to see how well our secondary can contain Gronkowski next week.  Hope we can pull one out next week.
