    MIKE EVANS COME ON UP!!!!

honestly if we could find ANY way to get Chris Jones here it should be explored.

With the cap increasing this much, I think we can create around 40 mil in space realistically

that extra 13 million should give us enough to go after  1 quality UFA if we so desired

Chris Jones likely will go to the highest bidder, though I'm sure Kansas City will do everything they can to resign him.

He was a great person and was active in the school that my family is in. One of his children is good friends with one of mine. Young man with 4 young children and a wife. I can’t imagine what they’re going through right now.

If you feel like blessing a young family that really needs it right now, I will include the link below. These are good people and I assure you every dollar would help.

Thank you for posting the link. Very sorry for the family and friends.

Bringing up the Mahomes debate at this point is ridiculous. It’s done and over. Mahomes didn’t have a winning record in college but you and Andy Reid knew he was going to be a superstar?

Agreed.  The Mahomes thing, the Bears were the biggest losers in that.  In the end, we got Allen and that is one of the best things that happened to us.

We need to draft more players like Dalton Kincaid. He’s a stud and his dog mentality is what will get this team over the top.

He wanted to win. He seemed like the only guy who did as much as Josh.

It's clear to all of us Kincaid was a terrific pick and will be a great player for years.  Hoping we can get another type WR in the draft like him.

It's not that for me really.  I actually do trust this team to win.  Dallas is going to be a tough game, but in Josh Allen I trust.  It's just that so many teams are so close that not winning the division is going to be really tough.  I was going to revisit my old thread to put a scenario and see if people think its actually unrealistic.  Because I believe its really realistic.  Thing is even if you change a few games, it just changes those teams and still leaves the Bills out.  I'm just going to put it here though since my thread is pages and pages back.

Keep in mind that I think we can absolutely win the division as I think Miami is going to lose more games.  This is just for the sake of argument that Miami surprises and actually wins out while we lose to Dallas.  Im only going to put up the games that matter and just assume Miami wins the division.  Lets see if any of this looks unrealistic to anyone and if so what games they would change...

    Week 15

    Cinci over Vikings

    Colts over Pitts

    Detroit over Denver

    Browns over Bears

    Ravens over Jags

    Texans over Titans

    Week 16

    Cinci over Pitts

    Jags over Tampa

    Browns over Texans

    Denver over Pats

    Colts over Atlanta

    49ers over Ravens

    Week 17

    Browns over Jets

    Seattle over Pitts

    Colts over Raiders

    KC over Cinci

    Jags over Panthers

    Denver over Chargers

    Titans over Texans

    Week 18

    Denver over Raiders

    Ravens over Pitts

    Cinci over Browns

    Colts over Texans

    Jags over Titans

Again, I think we have a good shot at winning the division.  This exercise is just to show how difficult it is to get in without winning the division.  Is there anything in there that anyone would change.  There are a couple scenarios where the Bills make it, but there are also a lot that they don't.  This is just my list of gut feeling on how games could play out.  In this scenario the Bills would not make it.  Obviously, I could see some games going another way but I had to pick someone.

It honestly all depends on how the rest of the season plays out.  Both teams can make the playoffs.  There is a huge tie in the AFC right now which is why getting a WC is so difficult this year.

Sorry if I didn't see this and you seem to be on it, for anyone that know for this weekend only, who are we rooting for to win between

Pittsburgh vs Indianpolis and Baltimore and Jacksonville

The others are obvious Minnesota, Detroit, Tennessee, Jets, Tennessee, New England and Bears.  Majority are underdogs/long shots.

We were discussing this in the Von Miller thread, but thought maybe it wasn't wise to continue cluttering that thread with cap talk.

We are currently $42 million over the cap for next season. That number assumes the NFL increases the salary cap increases, from the current cap of $224.8M to $243.9M (technically we are about $62 million over at the moment), plus rollover.

    Getting under the cap

If we release Dion Dawkins, Tre White, Taron Johnson, Mitch Morse, Jordan Poyer, Deonte Harty, and Nyheim Hines, we can get down to almost $0 (-413,780) cap space.

If we do NOT release one of those starters, you can add the following to our cap negative by this amount:

Keeping Dawkins: Add $4.8M to cap negative.
Keeping White: Add $6.2M to cap negative.
Keeping Taron: Add $7.7M to cap negative.
Keeping Morse: Add $8.5M to cap negative.
Keeping Poyer: Add $5.5M to cap negative.

Key players that will have to be re-signed or let walk

Micah Hyde: Contract expires this offseason.
Daquan Jones: Contract expires this offseason.

Leonard Floyd: Contract expires this offseason.

    Summary

We are $42M over the estimated 2024 cap, with Jones, Floyd and Hyde contract expiring. We will need a mixture of releasing starters, and re-structuring current deals, in order to get enough cap to draft players.

We are going to have to replace a lot of starters with very little money.

Good post I think a lot of us want to know about this. Reading from the posters that are knowledgeable about this, seems like the cap hit for Von will make no difference.

I would guess White, Morse and Poyer would be cut.

free agents Floyd and Hyde will likely not be resigned.

Don’t know about the others on the list

Mark it down right now.  This team is going to the playoffs.  We're going to run the table and finish 11-6.  Too much adversity has hit this team over the last four years for it not to happen.  The negativity they'll hear the next two weeks will spring this team like it did in 2021 in a very similar game in Tampa.  It's always darkest before the dawn.

I'll buy you a bottle of scotch if they make it to the playoffs.

... just wish I didn't. This team needs to be completely revamped. Starting with the entire coaching staff. Allen is worse than Baker Mayfield, Diggs can't get open, our OL still stinks, Davis is lost out there.. no one outside Kincaid makes me feel positive.

12 men on the field on a game winning FG attempt?!?!

    This was just INEXCUSABLE.

We all care, that’s why we are here
