  1. Well said...that was my intent. I like coming to this board often and talking Bills...What's disturbing is the jokes are sometimes aimed at our own players like Trent Edwards....Last time I check he's our starting QB!

I know most of you guys are joking, so I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers...It just bugged me enough to post a topic about it.

SuperBills12, while I agree with you, I'm not sure if this was the right forum to bring the issue up.

To those who have responded so far, I understand that you think the initial poster is being overly sensitive and making a big deal about nothing, as most of your jokes are not supposed to be taken seriously. However, if you think about it this way, maybe you'll understand where he's coming from. Our culture, for whatever reason (I won't go into it), has created a point to point connection between homosexuality and something being dumb, stupid, or otherwise deficient. Anyone who uses the word gay in this way is propagating this stereotype whether they mean to or not. I don't expect most of you to agree with or seriously consider this assessment nor do I want to dictate how you should and should not act (it's your life). However, try substituting a word that defines your own identity (whether it's your race, class, religion, etc) in place of the word gay and ask yourself if you or someone else in your social group (parents, friends, etc) might be offended if people devalued your identity with such regularity. Unless I've got SuperBills12 wrong, he doesn't mean that you are all homophobic but that you're feeding into this normal vs. homosexual binary by using gay to mean that something is bad, stupid, dumb, etc.

  2. He must be referring to continuity as in:

A combined record of 7-9 over 5 years in Chicago

Another three consecutive 7-9 clunkers in Buffalo.

There's certainly continuity there.....I'll give him that.

Quit beating the dead horse...What good is it to yank the entire system and take another 3 years to implement an offense?

  3. TO will be VERY READY to put on first class show. He may be able to carry the whole team if they can just get him the ball - a lot.

He's been in 2 MNF games already, both at home albeit, but he should be alright. We def. need to be creative in trying to get TO the ball. But look out for Evans that night, they can't double cover both. Should be a good game. I have faith in Trent, granted if we protect him.

  4. This was about 3 years ago right before the Eagles were about to play New England in the Super Bowl. TO was in Baltimore getting his leg checked out there so he could play.

A friend of mine's whose mom was a nurse there said she was in the room when they were running tests. He told me the doctors asked him if he "smoked" or did any drugs (standard stuff I guess)....and apparently T.O. replied ..."yeah I smoke DB's". The doctors puzzled looked at eachother and said what? T.O then clarified and said "Defensive Backs"

I have no idea if that story is true, but my buddy has never lied to me, and is a pretty honest guy.

    GO BILLS!!

  5. “‘Wow!’ was my first reaction,” Evans said. “I know we were looking at some different receivers out there. When he was cut by the Cowboys, I didn’t know if we were going to make the move for him or not. We did and it worked out. I’m very excited for everybody.”

The question now is how T.O. will deal with Trent Edwards, who is only entering his second full year as starter. Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo have all had dicey relationships with Owens. Edwards isn’t nearly as accomplished as any of those players and the Bills’ offense has been abysmal in recent years.

“I am really excited about the addition of Terrell Owens to our team,” Edwards said. “We spoke earlier and both look forward to working hard this offseason. We share the common goal of winning football games. His ability and experience will add to our offense and the weapons we already have.”

  6. • Do you still keep in touch with Scott Norwood (the kicker who missed what would have been the game-winning field goal in Super Bowl XXV)?

    “Who?” Thomas answered, drawing laughs.

Thomas said he does keep in touch with Norwood, who still attends charitable events in western New York.

“We never pointed the finger at anybody,” Thomas said. “We won as a team and we lost as a team.”

Just so people don't get it twisted.

  7. I was so excited when we got number 23. I still felt he is a good guy, but surrounds himself with less than steller crowd. I'm hoping Godell just fines him, and gives him the 3 strikes your out rule.

I know im in the minority, but I'm pulling for Lynch to turn it around. He's young, and we all make stupid mistakes.
