No rest for starters. Need too much work on screens and beating blitz. Jets are a great test.

Young , flawed QB still needs work.

This year is about changing culture, how valuable that is, and what it means going forward. That means you dont take the foot off the pedal.

Id consider, however, a few personel moves like Duke active or working in Yeldon.

    Well said.

Belichick is hard to beat.   He game plans better than anyone else and makes better adjustments.

On offense, NE featured rugged backs Burkhead and Michele because that's what works against the Bills fast, poor tackling defense.  Against a big, slow defense they'd have run James White all day.  The Bills couldn't counter and so NE controlled the game.

On defense, when Singletary has an effective first half. (7 rushes for 34), NE adjusts to stop him in the 2H (8 rushes for 12 yards), yet Bills don't adjust and continue to pound him for no gain series after series.

If we lose does it help our draft spot, if so there is no reason to try and win this game... seed in playoffs is locked up, injury concerns and draft order is benefitted by losing

By this logic, we should have lost against Miami last year. There's something to be said for momentum and confidence heading into the play offs. Also, how well has buffalo done with extra rest? Not great. Give rest to some who are hurting, but play the rest and play to win. 11-5. let's go!

Barkley beat with the Jets last year with the equivalent of second string lineman and skill players.

i don’t think playing our backups is conceding victory to that team on any level.

Bingo. Also, maybe not the worst thing to let Josh view from the sideline to get another perspective. He's still young.

  5. It's been a long time coming. But this Maryland/DC native is heading to Buffalo with 4 of his buddies for this critical game. I can't wait! Win or lose, I'm looking forward to it. Since it's been awhile, do you guys have any tailgating tips? My one worry is that we'll be tailgating too much and might be stuck in lines to actually make it by kick off :/ . When do we need to cut it off??

Signed McKenzie, released and brought Foster back up, cut Pryor, brought back DT (yay!)...pattern?

Opinionated speculation: so is it safe to say our coaching staff thinks the issue with the corps was lack of speed? Certainly makes sense in terms of getting separation - but is this the [best] approach to helping Allen develop? I know a few points were made, and I've agreed with, that we should be getting receivers with large catch radii (a KB who can complete a catch, N'Keal Harry, etc.) to help with Allen's inaccuracy issues. No reason we can't have both, but seems like the priority here is being given to speed over increased probability of completing passes.

Need speed to stretch the Defense to help run game which helps Josh.

LMAO.  What have you been smoking?

If I had a nickel for every comment like this...I'd have 20 cents

Also, I predict we'll have 2 new solid OL starters that will emerge who will open big holes for Shady to run free. It'll help that Robert Foster and McKenzie will be new deep threats that Josh will start connecting with. It's a 6 game season and the Bills will be 6-0.

  8. I know the chances are slim my prediction will come true. But it's also possible that the Bills may have found some combination of a winning formula. I also feel the bye week will help rejuvenate this team to go a hot streak. It's a gut feeling and I have little evidence to back it up. Time will tell..

Bills will finish 3-3, final record 6-10. Josh Allen shows some progress, and OL shows improvement and arrow is pointing way up for the 2019 offseason

Aiming too low... I really think my prediction will happen. Call me crazy or high...

  10. The Bills will:

    • Win each remaining game (with an emphatic win over the Pats in their house)
    • Josh Allen will average 250yds 1-2 td passes a game
    • Defense remains #1
    • We go 9-7 and make an even crazier entrance into the Playoffs than last year
    • We win a game in the play-offs but lose divisional game
    • Greatest in-season turnaround in Bills history is complete

  11. Oh, it's just some good-natured, well-deserved bashing, that's all. ALynn may prove to be a solid HC, I've got no real problem with him. Maybe Russ really is too busy to get involved, and maybe Doug isn't really a nitwit. Come training camp, everything will be sunshine, rainbows, and lollipops all over again.

I hope so Rico. The media has been unrelenting. I think they've amplified how bad things really are. The sarcasm and cynicism has gotten to be extremely annoying for fans like me.

  12. I don't know about you guys, but following the Bills lately has been a bare. Even through this drought I didn't mind listening to WGR, or reading the Buffalo News to see how we're going to get back to a great team. But my God, the last few weeks it's been at its worst. There's nothing positive being written or said. Everyone is ripping on the Bills. The last two years they went 8-8 and 7-9 not 0-32 which is what this all feels like.

I get it, everyone has a reason to feel pissed. But this isn't fun anymore. It's a damn sport, not life or death.

  13. There was clearly a dramatic drop off in performance with Mario. But I have a different take from you as to why. I watched him in the games and it was apparent to me that the effort wasn't there compared to last year. His body language was awful. It was as if he was out to prove that the change in the defense and his role under Rex wasn't going to work.

There are players who have prickly personalities who if they don't get their way prove to be challenging to deal with in a team setting. If they are not totally on board on what they are being asked to do they act out, sometimes blatantly so and sometimes seditiously so. Or another way of saying it is that they are out to sabotage the person they are rebelling against.

In the NBA talented players such as DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo come to mind who fit this stubborn description. These types of headstrong players can't be coddled. There reactionary behavior has to be immediately responded to with a strong response by the coach demonstrating that their foolishness is not going to be tolerated. The coach doesn't need to yell and make a scene. You take the player out of the game and direct him to the end of the bench. The message is sent not only to player acting like a brat but also to the team that certain conduct is not going to be tolerated. In my view Rex was too tolerant in the manner he dealt with Mario.

    This.
