  1. Just like the Giants knew that they could have a receiver catch the ball with his helmet to win a superbowl, or make an amazing catch on the sidelines to win another.

The Pats were not beat by the Giants in the two SBs -- they could have closed out both games by running for first downs. But Bill didn't want to do that, and had to rely on receivers catching the ball. Just ask Giselle who's fault it was.

  2. Stevie is a crap receiver. Drops the ball in big games. Costs his team yards (and probably a game or two) with his stupid celebrations. And he's hurt all the time. Only with this team would we accept such an undeservedly ego-centric player as our "best player" simply because he probably chose to stay with the Bills where he always has an excuse rather than try to go to a team where he would be exposed.

Too bad it's too late to trade him. Maybe in the off season he would be worth a 3rd or 4th rounder, and then use the freed-up money on another area of the team that need help.

  3. This makes zero sense, sorry.

If you want to make this complaint - apply it to the punt in the first half.

In the fourth quarter you are arguing against yourself - they WERE aggressive and playing to win and the players didn't execute.

Beating two DB's for the GO-AHEAD TD is "garbage time"??

OK, occasionally he catches the ball. But most of his stats (granted the Bills have ususally been playing catch-up against prevent defenses) have come in garbage time.

I wonder if he has more big-time drops than big-time catches.

  4. It wasn't either one of those guys that dropped the ball on third down and allowed the Pats to come back and win. That was on Stevie. If he catches that ball, the Bills win the game and everybody is happy. He missed two like that today that killed drives. Marrone, Hackett and Pettine did their jobs. Stevie didn't do his. He gets paid to catch the football.

I don't know why anyone thinks Stevie is anything more than a #3 receiver. He's done nothing except in garbage time. He drops the ball in key situations. In the prediction thread I said that the Bills would lose (unfortulately) and a wide-open Stevie would drop a bomb. OK, it wasn't a bomb, just a 7 yeard toss that only hit him in both hands.

Next year they need to draft a real receiver. Try to trade Stevie for a high-round draft pick next year.

  5. I wore my Flutie jersey to back-to-back Redskins games and to Ravens games. I had REALLY good seats for the Redskins game, and was initally harassed a bit by the Redskins fans. The Redskins were pretty bad that year, and got embarrassed by the Bills. By the end of the game, the 'skins fans were chearing for Flutie, esp. when he juked a LB out of his jock to pick up an extra 5 yards.

The Baltimorons were not as friendly. Much worse seats in the upper level of PSINet Stadium. It was a very close and sloppy game. The one thing I do remember is using the restroom and being harassed by a Ravens fan while I was at the urinal. Resisting the urge to turn toward the guy to make sure I heard him correctly :flirt:, I finished up and then explained that it was a sloppy game, so it would be close. He continued to be obnoxious, yelling things about the Bills even as I left the restroom.

The Bills won, and as my wife and I walked back to the car, a Baltimore fan -- with his kids -- started yelling things about the Bills. You stay classy, Baltimore!

  6. Or the calls missed on them. Gronkowski's touchdown catch was a total push off. Mario was held countless times, along with Kyle Williams. Brady got blasted by Williams in the end zone on a clean play, and his first thought was to look up at the ref and raise both of his hands. A total home job. Such a disgrace I've just called DirecTV and asked for my refund.

Let us know how that works out for you.

  7. Maybe this is the league's attempt to punish the Pats ... you know, give them a bye week before a game when they really don't need it.

Don't you think the Pats would prefer a bye against another team ... maybe to get the D ready for the Broncos, for example? I can't see Kraft going to the league office demanding a bye against a team that hasn't been to the playoffs this century.

I fail to see the conspiracy.

Plus, teams sometimes play better when they are not coming off the bye ...

Any W against the Pats is huge though.

  8. Even though I'm listed as DC Bills Fan, I should probably change that to ATL Bills fan...

Anyway, Coy Wire was on the Regular Guys show this morning, one of the jocks is from Buffalo or Rochester and still a Bills fan.

He asked Coy what was wrong with Buffalo, and you could hear Coy trying to be diplomatic with his answer. He said that he had played in Buffalo for 6 years, and that was all he knew. When he went to the Falcons, he was shocked. He said that from the top down it was a first rate organization. The owner spends money to get the best coaches and players and has assembled a first rate front office. Coy said that alone fosters a winning atmosphere.

He didn't take any shots at the Bills, but reading between the lines it was pretty clear that he didn't think that Ralph was as interested in winning as Arthur Blank.

  9. The Pats would win.

This team is cursed -- just like the Red Sox were -- and it all goes back to benching Flutie before the Titans playoff game.

Whenever the Bills have a national audience, they find a new way to lose.

If McKelvin doesn't fumble, Fred Jackson would have. Or Trent. That's just the way it is.

    Lets Go Sabres!

  10. My concern is that Jaron considered the FG a done deal right after the first down.

Maybe that's why he went to the ground. He wanted the Browns to burn all of their timeouts so that they would run out of time after the FG.

If that's true, that's insane. What other team would ever settle for a 47 yard FG when you have a minute to play? Hell, run the wildcat again. Run a naked bootleg (that worked well for the Browns, didn't it?) Just do something that the other team isn't expecting. Isn't that what Jaron and his coaches get paid to do?

The announcers had it right - TE apparently gets upset when he hears the names of the other QBs that were selected before him. Guess what? At least one of them - Quinn - looks like he has a lot more potential than Edwards.

The silver lining is that a least we won't have to watch this horrible coaching staff come January.
