  1. Dude.

You're not on the team.  You're just a fan.

Get your priorities straight.  Does this really impact your life?  I remember getting all pissy after the music city miracle (it was a forward lateral, by the way :)) and it ruined an opportunity to have a great night out with my friends.  And why?  Because I would not be able to watch a bunch of overpaid athletes play another week.

Players can get upset because it will cost them money.  Did the loss impact MY income?  NO!  So what's the point in getting so invested?

Sports are supposed to be a release from the real world.  Sounds like you're having trouble letting go.

So try to think about how a Bills loss -- and they will always find new and creative ways to lose -- impacts your real life.  And then just live by the old saying "if they don't win it's a shame."  Because at the end of the day, that's all it should be.

  2. This franchise was cursed ... maybe long before Dougie stepped on the field, but I'm blaming this one solely on the decision to start RJ instead of Flutie in the MCM game...

They need to reverse the curse like the Sox did in 2004.  Hopefully it does not take 86 years to do so.

Wow, not everyone on these boards is typing next to a box of kleenex....

The Jags lost the game on their own, don't get me wrong.  But the PATs definitely have the 'unbeatable Tiger Woods air' to them, which makes opponents crumble under pressure... AND makes it easier for a ref to throw a flag.

The PI call at the end of the half was a terrible call based on that exact play NEVER getting called in the regular season games.  However... I would still have bet the PATs scored a TD at the end of the half regardless of this one call.

All that did was leave 55 seconds on the clock for  ... the Jags to take a knee twice.

No PI, the Pats still get a TD, and the Jags only have to take a knee once.

  4. Unfortunately, when you watch the video, the ball is still moving at this point.  His foot had just dragged the carpet and kicked up the old tires ... but when he actually had control, his foot then came down again out of bounds and it kicked up more tire.

The best replay that was shown was the split screen that showed it from both sides.  The official was on this side and was shielded from the ball movement, so he made the call based on what he saw.

I think this was the right call, but the 4th down replay was not.

  5. Living in Pittsburgh and being a Bills and Penguins fan, I can personally attest that the best sports fans are in Buffalo and Pittsburgh.

The Bills by FAR have the best football fans. No other fanbase would support the NFL or football with the playoff drought the Bills have. Not only that, but Bills fans are generally among the most knowledgeable fans I have encountered regarding what goes on around the NFL.

The "best"?? If that makes you feel better, go with it.

Maybe we're just the laziest ... too much work/too expensive to have to get stuff for a new team that might actually make the playoffs this century.

This just confirms what we already know. That Buffalo by far and away is the most tortured sports city in America. We are all huge sports fans and love our Buffalo teams...and we desperately want what we can't have.

The ATL isn't too far behind in terms of futility. But they won't go back 4 times in a row.

  6. and you know he has talent based on???

Did you watch a ton of his games in college at eastern Illinois?

Beat a mediocre Cardinals team( who the Bills destroyed) cause the Cards kicker missed a game-winning field goal.

For a half, was tearing up a Miami defence that had yet to gell...and again who the Bills put up almost 600 yards on that very same...when they were playing much better,

I am not saying he doesn't have talent...but if this kid is not screaming Bryan Flynn , Rob Johnson, and Scott Mitchell, i dont know who is.

And the fact the Pats are willing to trade him i conference, with a soon to be 40yr old starter, should tell you all you need to know.

Brady didn't light it up when he took over for Bledsoe. In fact, RJ probably had a better first 6 games than Brady did. But it's the system and coaching that Jimmy receives that's that intangible.

  7. Looking at the chatter surrounding Janine Garappolo...

So my buddy and I we were wondering, is there QB like Cassel, Flynn, Osweiler, etc. who was a backup somewhere and received big bucks through free agency, or trade and worked out well for the new team?

In other words, someone bought into them big time and it paid off.

Pretty stupid of you to refer to him as "Janine." That doesn't even make sense.

I for one would love to see Jimmy as a Bill. The kid has talent and knows what good coaching is like. He would be a huge addition to the Bills.

  8. From ESPN:

"I can sit back and say I don't care who plays quarterback, because [Tom] Brady ain't," Ryan said Sunday. "I don't care who plays quarterback. Steve Grogan can play quarterback. If [bill] Belichick's playing quarterback, we're coming after him, I promise you that."

Based on his body of work, I think that Rex would be smarter to sit back and enjoy a victory instead of making stupid pronouncements. Can't someone shut this clown up?

  9. Just wondering why anyone would think he's not. Caught cheating twice. Good coach? Sure. Pushes the envelope? Yup. Indecent as a three dollar bill? Hell yeah.

If you give a broad definition to "cheating," then maybe. But not.

    1. "Spygate" wasn't cheating - taping was allowed but not at that position.

    2. No involvement in deflategate.

Regardless, everytime he gets "caught" and is under a microscope, the Pats just win.

I would love to see someone like him coach the Bills. Would be nice to make the playoffs this century.

  10. He's so crooked he needs two assistants to help him screw his pants on in the morning.

    No thanks.

Just wondering why you think he's crooked. Seems that he knows how to coach. Something that we haven't had since Marv.

    Meh.

They only beat zona because they botched a kick. Miami rolled them in the 2nd half last week and Houston stinks.

They just lined up and played last night, there wasn't any coaching magic going on. Houston turnovers and Osweiler looked really inaccurate.

I honestly wouldn't want that sketchy bore anywhere near my team. Guys like Andy Reid, Wade, Arians, Chan--they make more of a difference.

Sorry, but you don't think that he had something to do with that? Rex would have kicked the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs. Hoodie obviously saw a weakness in the return game and took advantage of it.

I think Hoodie was the first one to take advantage of the new kickoff rules. He is the master of exploiting unintended consequences.

  11.

Serious question, do you consider Barry Bonds the greatest baseball player of all time? It can be argued that his numbers speak for themselves, but with all of the outside stuff you would be hard pressed to find a baseball fan who thought that. To me, it's the same thing with Brady.

Wait ... you are SERIOUSLY equating a guy who did PEDs to a guy who may have been "generally aware" that the air pressure in the football was below spec? REALLY? Are you that big of a homer???

ok had to step in here....he is still second to montana. Montana had no losses in superbowls which trumps 2 losses. Second, montana wasnt accused of cheating (except by his wife) so bradys last bowl was an asterisk win which in my book counts as less than a win. I give brady 3.9 wins minus 2 losses =1.9 vs Joes 4.0 its still not close. neither player can account for their teams talent aside from their own, so not a factor. Pats D was better than san frans anyway. Pats also lost last game of a perfect season scoring what 14pts? Joe didnt ever even sweat.

If you ever read my post on this youd know only one person can sell his soul and be the "greatest of all time" and Joe did that way before Brady tried.

But Montana's main receiver admittedly cheated by using stickum ... hmmm...

  12. Imagine what could have been for the Bills if some senile, meddling owner hadn't decided to play coach and force Wade into starting RJ in a meaningless game against the Colts ...

Wade would have won the SB that year, and probably at least one more time during his multi-year coaching tenure.

    Instead, we got Gregg Williams.

Congrats Wade - one of the best and underappreciated coaches the Bills ever had.

  13.

The NFL owns the rights to the game. Why would they surrender those rights?

If somebody taped your wedding and wanted to make money selling the tape, wouldn't you object?

Curiously, the guy owns the tapes but not the content on the tapes. Funny situation.

The market always dictates the value of something. In this case, there's not much of a market. Maybe some rich ex-player or Packer fan might want to own something like this.

But the tapes are incomplete, damaged, and can't be broadcast. This guy mistakenly thought he had something worth $1 million. Apparently, he was very wrong. Let's see if he can even find someone willing to pay more than the NFL's offer of $30,000.

The copyright is actually owned by the "artist" that is taking the video of you wedding. If you hired that person, then you own it as it is a work for hire. But if some random person videos you wedding (assuming its a public event), then they can sell it as they like.

  14. Are you concerned he won't be disciplined if he took HGH? Are you thinking the NFL has a Peyton exemption from HGH or other performance enhancing drugs?

It's certainly looking that way. Especially if they don't get a "Wells Report" on this.

I hope you never get jury duty. Married? Ever had anything like that shipped to you? My wife has. You know about their fertility stuff, right? He may be guilty, but nothing yet - including the "source" who later recanted - proves anything.

I'm not trying to convict the guy ... my point is that there is more incriminating evidence (circumstantial as it may be) against Peyton than there was against Brady, and he's getting a pass.

And of course the source would recant ... he's opened himself up to criminal charges.
