  1. The writing is on the wall for the Buffalo Bills. Everything links together: Goddell comments on RWS, the trade up for Watkins, the trade of SJ.

    The franchise is broke.

They didn't want to pay SJ's salary. They know they're going to stink next year, so they don't want to pay a first-round pick next year. They're cutting expenses like crazy to either make the team more attractive to a buyer, or to move the team to LA. It's just obvious.

  2. This game is all you need.

    • A "home game" held in Toronto, which the "home team" performs horribly in every year.
    • A manageable schedule coming up.
    • A team hyped as having a "new" coach and a "young", "talented" group of new players.
    • The guys who are supposedly the answer for the franchise (Manuel, Johnson, Chandler, etc.) all fail in a laughable, amateurish fashion and lose to a terrible team and a way that results in the franchise being a national laughingstock.
    • There is no hope beyond another group of new players in the draft, who will also all fail.
    • Finally, the only guy happy is Ralph, who runs off with all of the ticket money, turns away multiple guys that would buy the team and make it better, and will milk this failure of a franchise for another ten years. Why?
    • God hates Buffalo.

And yet, the ticket office will still be open tomorrow. And rubes will still willingly give their money to Ralph.

  3. I feel like I ought to rename this thread, "Bills Fans Suffering With Stockholm Syndrome". Calling Jeff Tuel "a rookie quarterback" is just naive. He is a quarterback who is on this roster solely through mismanagement. He wasn't thought of as anything in college and he was undrafted BECAUSE HE WASN'T ANY GOOD. And he STILL isn't any good. He isn't remotely an NFL quarterback because he can't do anything. He can't throw, he can't run, he can't make reads. And I don't care that he's the fourth-string or fifth-string or whatever-string-needs-to-be-invented-to-make-someone-feel-good. He shouldn't be on a roster. ANY roster. But, well, this is Buffalo. It's been years since the team has done anything, and the local drunks errrr fans will say anything to ensure that they can keep throwing bad money after good money in order to have eight outdoor parties a year (maybe it's seven...did our wonderful owner move that game to ANOTHER COUNTRY still?).

It can't be justified. Not at all. And unless we're throwing the season because Ralph already has all of your "real fan" ticket money and is trying to get yet another high draft pick he'll blow, he should be released tomorrow and a REAL quarterback, a veteran who needs a job (and there are 10+ of them out there) should be on the roster.

  4. What's sad is how many of you will continue to defend the indefensible because you'll put up with terrible football as long as it gives you an excuse to get drunk outdoors. Those fans who continue to support every move this franchise makes are killing this franchise through their selfishness.

  5. I'm sure he's a nice guy. I'm sure that his family loves him. But Jeff Tuel is obviously not an NFL-quality backup, and never will be. Get Flynn ready, and find someone else on the waiver wire. We don't need any more data or practice reps. He can't play. I'm glad he got that TD pass, because even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while and he'll need something to show his grandkids. But he needs to be released.

Of course, he won't be because Ralph is concerned about full stadia and refills on tapioca. But I digress.

  6. Manuel may be okay, but his loss of reps is not okay. You can't just throw him in there too early and let him get hurt again, and you can't give him a bunch of first-team reps if he's not going to play during a game week. Face it: we're looking at Kolb for probably at least the first four weeks.

Things were just going too well.
