1. Ok, but i still don't think the story of the 2005 bills roster is complete...  We have an injured, legitimate #2 WR right now in roscoe parrish.  We have the practice squad to be made up, and we have reed, still holding onto a roster spot.  Plus, if reed were as bad as we all think he is, he'd be long gone.  I'm through giving josh reed the benefit of the doubt, but i'm not through with TD.  He's been a fairly decent Prez/GM of the bills.  By week eight, we'll see if Josh Reed is still a Buffalo Bill, or if he's playing madden with bobby shaw.

    Fair enough.

  2. Actually Kelsay became full fledged starter last year, and typically D lineman do not play every down due to the fatigue factor. So saying that He is splitting time w/ denney is a relatively invalid statement

    428972

Defensive tackles split time, I seem to remember Phil Hansen playing almost every down. Aaron Schobel seems to be on the field an awful lot.

  3. And also, Donahoe rufuses (sic) to cut Drew Bledsoe because it proves he wasted a second round pick on the useless piece of crap!!!  That's why Drew's going to be back this season, even though he's clearly washed up and causing this team to lose!

    Oh, wait.

    428955

So in your opinion, Tom Donahoe is doing a spectacular job in building the new Buffalo Bills dynasty?

  4. Moral of the story??  We both can't, unless we are indeed alter egos of tom donahoe and/or mike mularkey.

    428951

I understand and agree with your point.

But it's not about Drew Haddad, it's Tom Donahoe's arrogance. He made a mistake with the 36th pick of the 2002 draft, cut ties and move on. It's not just Reed, look at Kelsay (2nd round 2003) and Denney (2nd round 2002). A 2nd round draft pick should be a decent player in the NFL. The Bills have second round draft picks splitting time at DE and together the make up an average NFL player.

It shouldn't be too much to ask for your second round draft choices to be better than average (marginal in Reed's case) NFL players.

  5. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: You know I use to read here because I thought some of you guys were more of the... How do you say [pause] intelligent BB fans but… now I am certain that most of you  have taken on the reputation of John Kerry… Flip Flop!!! You bash DB, TH, TD and practically the whole team. Some of the bashing does not come without cause, but take the two dicks out of your ears… dicks that belong to, oh yes Willis McGahee’s and Losman’s, and listen to me…. understand it is not our stars fault!!! Is it their fault that there is no "team" Chemistry at all, so let’s fire TD… DICKS… Here are your complaints TH: fumbles, slips, is not fast enough, misses blocking assignments, can’t catch out of the back field, only rushes for 1400 yards we wanted 2000. Here are my complaints against you: Has Travis fumbled this year… I thought that silence would be your response. I think one of the reasons he has not fumbled is because he is worried about fumbling and here a bunch of breast fed babies in the audience booing him. Here are a few stats for this year Ahman Green has (4) count it.. yes 4 but are they yelling to get rid of him, NO! How about Clinton Portis and McAllister with 4. Or E. James With 2 critical game losing fumbles against NE. Slips *hit happens… Not fast enough everyone who knows football or played… know that speed is not the key to a good back! Blocking is the key to a good back, everything starts up front. There are a few like Barry Sanders who didn’t need good blocking but for the rest, blocking is the most important aspect. Get semi good and he will prove his worth! I think TH is learning a few blocking tricks from Mcgahee. He is starting to cut block more… taking the Blitzer’s legs out. I see that Mcgahee does this all the time. But let's see how we can repay him for a pretty good year... let's bring in a guy who is capable of taking the #1 spot 100% healthy. How much pressure do you think one guy can take... I have been to all of the home games and there are more people waering WM jerseys than TH... Thanks Travis. LETS TALK ABOUT DREW... Drew is who he is, give him the time and he will give you the win!! I think all the successful teams in the league have game plans sculpted around the talent of the players. Our teams offense is very similar to NE, no real Super Stars but their offensive scheme is the best and their discipline is unmatched. Blaming TD…just eat one okay! You can bring talent to a team but you can’t make them get a long and play as a team!!!

    67835

Than it's TD's job to make changes so they DO play as a team.

So Travis Henery and Drew Bledsoe would be doing better if there was better blocking, that's what you are saying, right?

Whose fault is it that the offensive line sucks?

Dude, your logic doen't make any sense.

  6. Another reason people don't like TD is his arrogance, he makes it hard for us fans to like him.

He is embarassed to be part of the Western New York community, he said it! We were wrong as ticket holders to say that Gregg Williams sucked as a head coach.

It's always TD knows everything and no one else knows, or should say, anything. Pure arrogance!

  7. We can talk about the players until our heads blow off. (As a matter of fact, Bill in NYC could be in grave danger should he make another anti-Travis post.) But the bottom line is, I think we are 0-4 and going nowhere fast because of Tommy D's lack of success on draft day.

I think he did the right thing by trading for Bledsoe. It hasn't worked out like we had hoped, but it was the right move at the right time. His free agent pickups have been very good...Takeo, Vincent, Villarial, London, Lawyer, Sam, etc.

But I don't think you build a successful team around free agent pickups. You do that through the draft and player development, then you look at your weaknesses and fill the holes with free agents.

His drafts have been, for the most part, BIG failures, and that's why we are what we are...a bad football team. Granted, some of the players haven't had enough time to develop to make an accurate assessment of their ability to be quality NFL players. Willis hasn't had enough time to heal from his injury to judge whether or not he will be the star we hope he will be. But the fact is, several players have been huge disappointments, given the time they've had to develop, where they were taken in the draft, the money they get paid, and their lack of production on the field.

I mean, really, does anyone think a light is going to come on in Ryan Denney's head and he's going to turn in to a good player? Josh Reed?

It's true that some of our better players make too many mistakes (Eric and Travis first come to mind). But the fact is the people around them aren't good enough to overcome those mistakes, so it's those mistakes that people remember and those players (especially Travis) get the most criticism.

For example, you don't see 20 threads about Josh Reed, even those he's on pace to catch 16 passes this season. Read that last sentence again. 16 passes. Yet there are dozens of negative posts about Travis, who despite his mistakes and limitations, is on pace for 1,100 yards.

The fact is, we have some good veteran Bills and many very good free agents who have become Bills. But Tom has failed this team on draft day, and I think that's reason No. 1 why we are sitting at 0-4.

    67082

    BINGO!!!!

  8. I really, really don't get it.

This guys job is to go out and get the people we need on the team.

Unfortunatly, he's a bit too old to put on the pads and get out there himself.

You guys all say you want more of McGahee. Well, guess who GOT YOU MCGAHEE?! He can't force the coaches to play them.

In recent years, he has gotten both Lodon Fletcher and Takeo Spikes to come to a city where I'm not sure I would want to come to if I was a mulitmillion dollar athlete.

He made a TREMENDOUS pick with our first overall this year. In 3 years, Lee Evans will be a top 5 WR in this entire league.

    He got you McGahee, remember?

Now, EVERYONE wants Bledsoe gone? Well, without Tom Donohoe drafting Losman, that wouldnt even BE an option in a few weeks. We would be WITHOUT a backup that has any credibility.

He got you Lawyer Millow and Troy Vincent. Do I even need to go any farther than that?

When he got you Bledsoe, you threw a damn party to welcome #11.

Its unfortunate that TD isnt a coach or a player. He's not. His job is to get you the talent you need. He has done that. And no, we dont have a good OLine, so no, he hasnt done his job perfectly, but jesus, he hasnt done it nearly as badly as you guys make it out.

Just look at the names on this roster.

    66925

First off you are correct, he can't force the coaches to do anything. But he can hire coaches who make changes when things aren't working, more about the coaching below.

About Willis McGahee, why do you waste a first round draft choice on him if he is going to sit out one year and then sit on the bench the second year? Wouldn't a quality offensive or defensive lineman be a much better use of the pick?

Lee Evens, why again did the Bills need a receiver? Oh yeah, Donahoe blew a second round pick, 36 overall, on Josh Reed.

Speaking of TREMENDOUS draft picks, what about the using the 4th pick in the 2002 draft on Mike Williams? That seems to be working out very nicely.

Didn't Mr. Donahoe use a few second round draft choices on defensive linemen, Kelsay and Denney? Where is the pass rush? The reason the secondary is getting torched is because they are blitzing all the time because the front 4 can not get any pressure on the QB.

Just because there are a lot of "big names" on the roster it doesn't mean TD is doing his job. His job is also hiring competent head coaches, Gregg Williams was a complete failure (wasted 3 years), and the jury is still out on Mike Mularkey (although its looking like more of the same garbage).

  9. I fail to see the logic in how letting go of the GM can help this team at this point in time.

By even thinking that the GM must go you are saying you are willing to let this team struggle for 2-3 years without any idea if a new GM/coaching staff will fair any better.

The shortsightedness of this board amazes me. Then again, it really doesn't.

    38137

The shortsightedness of this board? What team are you watching? Donahoe hasn't done a whole lot to help this team!

This team keeps getting worse...The offensive line is a mess, what did TD do about it? He brought in Trey Teague, he is the worst center in the AFC.

Then he went and drafted a "speed" receiver in the first round. What good is a speed receiver if your quarterback has no time to throw the deep ball? Granted, a few years ago he used the 4th pick in the draft to select Mike Williams, but that doesn't seem to be working out all that well.

You want to be a "power running" team get some decent O-linemen.

On the defensive side of the ball he drafted Ryan Denney and Chris Kelsay neither one of them should even be playing in the NFL. He did bring in a few good free agents, I will give him that.

oh, it was pretty smart to pay Rian Lindell so much money that you can't even cut him to bring in a good kicker.

How long do we give this guy? The majority of his draft picks have been busts and the weaknesses of the team are the same year after year. I'm sick of Tom Donahoe getting a free pass from the media and the fans, it's time to point the finger at him!

  10. if anything the man is too much of a competitor, which is why he went for the pick  (bad play)rather than the knock down) correct play,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    28455

NO! If anything it shows how stupid and selfish he is! A batted ball doesn't look as good as a game clinching interception.

    He is a mental midget!

  11. What about Clements? He is an average NFL cornerback, at best. Every time he makes a play he jumps around like a damn idiot!

Not only does he act stupid, he is stupid! Why try to intercept the 4 and 14 prayer? Just knock it down A-Hole! Oh, wait what am I saying a defended pass doesn't look nearly as good as an interception on Sportscenter or in the stats books.

    Sorry Nate, You Idiot!

  12. Nate my A$$ Where was Fletchers leadership???  Celebrates earlier like he's never made a tackle and then kickes the ball giveing the Jags five free yards.

    27573

Yeah Nate! Just knock the ball down! He Sucks! He is an over-rated show-boating piece of crap!!
