  1. This is a sad day in my life as I have been a diehard fan since I was 8. Almost 30 yrs of being a fanatic. After Sunday something inside of me said No More. I can't invest emotionally anymore. I know I'll get beat up over this with the dont let the door hit you in the ass thing like so many before me but I just can't do it anymore. When the Bills become relevant and really become a contender I'll be back. I don't know when that will be but I want to thank all the people on this site that have made the masochism easier to take.

You guys are better men than me. I will keep an eye on this dumpster fire of a team from afar from time to time I just cant let it ruin 20 Sundays a year anymore. Bills Fans deserve better...I deserve better.

Take care boys and remain the best fans in the world.

I won't judge you - we have all been there. This season is especially dissapointing because the expectations were so high. With the luck that this team doesn't have, they will probably play well for the rest of the year, miss the playoffs by one game (or a tiebreak), and get stuck with mid-round draft picks next year.

  2. how is message board speculation "piling in" on the deceased and his family? This is a curious situation (that you have now just made even more curious with the ambiguous line of "they have been through hell the last 12 months leading up to this point") that we are discussing here...

See plenzmd1's post above. As it was explained to me, the younger brother has had some serious health problems in the last year and he was very dependent on the brother who died. He was was not known as a big drinker or a trouble maker - not someone "who deserved this" as some of the other posters have indicated.

  3. You are forgetting the Bills fans "Damned if you do, Damned if you dont" policy, where IF we would have signed Byrd earlier, people would have been squawking this entire season that "he hasnt lived up to his contract, Buddy made a mistake again, and we should have waited until after the season to keep him motivated for the money".

    True story.

  4. I was thinking about this. Dude's brother, who is considered by security/cops to be too intoxicated to be allowed to stay in the stadium, gets ejected and he knows about it. Does he go with his brother to make sure he's OK? No, he says in and watches the rest of the game.

I literally just hung up the phone with my brother (who was at the game with me) and we were saying the same thing. Just a horrible situation.

  5. unless ive missed an update, we dont know that he was even ejected 100% yet - yet alone that if he was it was for booze - and if it was for booze that his demise was directly caused by the booze.

theres a really good chance those dots connect, but i dont think this is the time to go there.

Here is the update that you missed...from the Buffalo News

Authorities said the man’s brother reported to law enforcement that the brother had been ejected from the game, apparently for being intoxicated, and that he couldn’t find him after the game.

  6. I go to see the drunk and the vile!

and because I love my bills and wont let others ruin my fun of watching the best sport known to man be played by my favorite sporting team in all of the land live and in person!

Then you obviosuly weren't waiting in the piles of people that were pushing and shoving to try and get through the gates (which were packed) because security was using metal detecing wands. You obviously didn't hear someone yell "I don't care f**k him" when we were trying to clear a path for a guy in a wheelchair. You definitely didn't see the guy trying to pick a fight with everyone around him who later had to be restrained by 4 cops or the poor girl waiting in the crowd that was crying because of the mob. This was all before I even entered the stadium last night.

  7. It's a trade off. Cheaper ticket prices than other comparable stadiums means you get guys who are going for a good time as opposed to higher ticket prices where you get the blue blazer and penny loafer crowd. Cheap ticket prices means you get better attendance and more likelihood of selling out (or close to it) whereas more expensive tickets may result in half stadium attendance. I think the league sees Bills tix as a bargain and increased attendance is good for the team (and the league). If we increase ticket prices and get half the fans (although more well behaved), the league might reconsider our ability to sustain an NFL team...wave bye bye.

It's a balance - many of the new NFL stadiums that have been built recently are much smaller than RWS (aside for Jerryworld). If they every do build a news stadium, I suggest it be in Lancaster - closer to Rochester and Hamilton - where they can increase ticket sales to corporations. Raise the ticket prices to keep the rif-raff out but make the place smaller.

  8. That's a blanket statement. There are lot's of good Bills fans that attend and a few vile fans that ruin it for the rest. I go to Baltimore games quite often. They can be obnoxious and mouthy but you rarely see fights in the stands. Probably because most of the people in the stands are Ravens fans and it's more like a big family event...not a bunch of 17-24 year olds trying to get high and drunk.

I am not saying that it is everyone - in fact, I would say 75% of the people there are great. It's just that the other 25% are such huge pieces of crap, the lowest form of life, that it ruins the gameday experience for most. I can't even imagine how old my son will have to be before I even consider taking him to a game.

  9. Especially at night. Every year I go to a couple of home games and every time I ask myself why I keep coming back. I have been to many other sporting events in many other places and hands down, you will find some of the drunkest, most vile human beings at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Those of you that say other places are just as bad are delusional. I went to the game in Cleveland this year and Borwns fans are 10 classes above the majority of Bills "fans" that show up to these games.Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, but it is OK to go to a Bills game.

  10. I think that the meltdown against the Titans, the comeback blowout against Pats hurt player confidence - but last week against Houston was a killer - the defense played a good game, but still couldn't stop the Texans when it mattered, while the offense was able to move the ball, but couldn't score - very deflating - like the team finally realized that there is a huge separation between them and the best teams in the league.

  11. By the end of the season he will be a late 1st Rd or a 2nd Rd pick. 3 year starter in a pro style offense, accurate, smart, and can move in the pocket. Reminds me of Matt Schaub coming out of UVA. Nassib will be a very good pro.

  12. It's common knowledge that Brady doesn't like pressure, and a fierce pass rush is the way to beat him. That's why the Giants beat him in the Super Bowl, and why Nix did his best to upgrade our pass rush this year.

But it's also common knowledge that the league protects Brady even more than most QBs, and hitting him after the whistle will draw penalties that hurt our team.

So what to do? Think outside the box, people.

It's only a penalty if we knock the snot out of Brady AFTER the whistle. So if we mess with the whistles so they won't make a noise, how are they gonna flag us?

If we can put a man on the moon, somebody can make a hi-tech whistle that looks authentic but has a wireless V-chip or something that lets Gailey control when it makes a sound. We temporarily disable the whistle at the snap, pound the snot out of Brady and get away with it. If we're smart, and do it intermiteontably (sp?), nobody will catch on.

If we're gonna hit him late, let's be smart about it.

I'm ICanSleepWhenI'mDead, and my middle brother Darryl approved this message.

Many of the posters that have contributed to this thread will say that you are a jerk, probably whine and cry and say things like "Whaaa - that's not how the game is played - whaaaa."

I will say this...I like your style and your attitude. If the Bills had someone like you working for them the rest of the league would stop calling them pussies.

  13. I also vote for shutting this thread down. Hurting a player is never warranted especially when defenseless. We are not a bunch of thugs on this board or on the field. This is a game and a sport - that is all it is. Wishing harm on a player is classless to say the least. In real life also, occasionally I feel mad at someone but I wish that person would get the fruits of his/her bad acts - I don't wish for that person to get mugged and clobbered in a neighborhood alley.

Showing we have balls is to sack him, intercept him and beat his team.

Some of you guys are unbelievable. Lock this thread.

I vote that you read the posts - no one said anything about intentionally injuring him. Just put some damn pads on him - if that means the hit is a little later, it's a little late. This team has been a doormat to the Patriots and will probably get beat agian (and again, and again) - but at least put some fear into the guy.

The only one that deserves to get a cheap shot / injured is that piece of s**t Spikes - who intentionally went after Chandler's head. So there, now you can vote to shut the thread down.

  14. I can't stand the whiner Brady has become but I don't want to see cheap shots. That said, the Bills have too many nice guys, We need some more attitude and fire on this team. It's why I laugh at fans who got made at Stevie Johnson. We need more of that.

That's what I'm trying to say. There is a difference between a cheap shot (intent to injure) and going hard until after the whistle and putting a hit on someone. Way to many pussies on this team that sit back and let Tom Brady make them his B word. Show some pride.
