  1.

Same schedule save for 2 games. Bills got Bengals and Chiefs (2 playoff teams combined 23-9) and the Jets got the Browns and Raiders (combined 10 and 22). Jets finished 2 games better and lost to the Bills both games.

THIS. Only a myopic contrarian that trips all over themself to not look like a homer would say the Jets are a better team.

  2. I just don't see that.

Bill Polian changing his mind and declining Terry Pegula's offer to join the Buffalo Bills is all the evidence anyone needs to realize that the Buffalo Bills are a disaster right now.

Polian already went on record on why he declined the job - he wanted Marrone and is too old to do the hard work of hiring a new head coach. This's a disaster averted by the Bills, since Polian freely admitted he didn't want to work hard and was obviously not "all in" from the get go.

BTW true HD can only be viewed over the air. Both satellite and cable compress the signal, with noticeable loss of quality.

That's actually not true - even OTA HD is compressed. Granted, compression rates vary from provider to provider, but rarely is there a big difference in picture quality. I used to get OTA HD via an outdoor antennae for my local stations, before DirecTV offered them. When I started getting them through DirectTV, the picture quality is not distinguishable between the two whatsoever.

  4. Spiller is signed through 2015. Dareus through 2014. Neither have any Pro Bowl or All-Pro selections yet, but apparently will merit new contracts down the road.

There isn't a soul on this board, who, if they were in Byrd's shoes, would be happy with a 1 year guarantee. Nor would they be happy with a one year deal when fellow and sometimes lesser talented players have 4 or 5 year contracts with plenty of guaranteed money. A guy like Goldson or Weddle have a minimum of 18-20M coming their way. Byrd has his 6.9M. If only people could place themselves in the players shoes, but apparently fandom overrides that ability.

Byrd was offered a longer contract and decided to go for the 1 year deal. It was his choice and ultimately his gamble to play against the side with all the leverage. He should have no reason to be unhappy seeing other players getting longer deals.
